Monday At The Mid-South
Monday Night 7/23/92
Mid-South Coliseum
Memphis, Tenesee
Our opening match tells an interesting story as New Jack & Wolfie D of the Gangstas face off against "Simply Irresistible" Jeff Jarrett & Tracy Smothers. The Gangstas are of course with Mustafa and the rest of their random thugs. It's intense and there's that much interaction between Tracy & Wolfie, but once they lock up to everyone's surprise it's a straight up technical affair. Finish see's Jack miss a diving headbutt on Jarrett who quickly takes advantage with a cradle for the pin at 12:28.
Post Match- The Gangstas (Mustafa & the Thugs) quickly hit the ring and attack the faces. A black bag is handed to a recovered New Jack who pulls out a noose. Placing the noose around Tracy's neck as garbage fills the ring, Wolfie D steps up and begs Jack to stop. It's a tense moment, but it's all a ruse as WOLFIE D ENDS UP HANGING TRACY SMOTHERS OVER THE TOP ROPE! Wolfie has made his choice EXTREMELY clear! Jarrett tries to help but the numbers are just too much... HERE COMES KOKO B. WARE and various JTTS behind him to chase the Gangstas off! A disgusting and disgraceful post match attack here tonight at the Mid South Coliseum!
Daryl Van Horne leads the monster known as Doomsday to the ring for our next contest, his opposition "Big" Ron Harris. This has been a long time coming fans, dating back to the days of the Disciples. Harris tries his best, but the monster CAN NOT be put down, at just 5:10 Doomsday claims yet another victim with the power bomb!

It's time for the USWA debut of Too Cold Scorpio as he battles the mysterious Crimson Dragon! Best match of the night thus far, with Dragon knowing how to take all of Scorpio's unique high flying offense. Scorpio dazzles the crowd with a dive to the outside. Dragon gets a few comeback spots, but eats a dropkick while coming in off the top. Forward falling slam sets up perhaps the most impressive move in all of pro wrestling right now Scorpio's trademark 450 splash at 8:40!
Just before intermission with are HUGE GRUDGE MATCH as "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol w/ Paul E. Dangerously goes one on one with "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert. Crowd really doesn't know how to react to Gilbert but in due time get behind him as he and Idol tear into each other. 10 minutes in and we've got both men bleeding. Here's the finish, phone is snuck in, Gilbert readies his chain... CHAIN VS. PHONE as Paul E. has the official... Idol ducks a punch and WHAMO cell phone shot! Idol ditches the evidence and covers for the tainted victory at 19:45.
Post Match- The beating CONTINUES after the match with Idol tying Gilbert in the ropes. Here comes "Superstar" Bill Dundee, "Terrific" Terry Taylor & Greg "the Hammer" Valentine to join in on the fun. They take turns with punch, stomps and eye rakes, with NO ONE coming to Gilbert's aid. Gilbert is untied from the ropes, and falls victim to a spike piledriver from Idol & Dundee. Idol has some harshed words for Gilbert, as Paul E. shouts he's finished. The Alliance opts not to continue, proud of all they've accomplished!
Intermission
Huge NON-title tag team action pits NWA World Tag Team Champions: The Steiner Brothers (Rick & Scott Steiner) face off against USWA Tag Team Champions: The Fantastics (Tommy Rogers & Bobby Fulton) Nothing but pride is on the line here, as these two teams give it their all in what could easily be a match of the year candidate. Tons of near falls, a great deal of heat. Mid way thru the story becomes ALL about Rogers knee injury suffered at the hands of Taylor/Valentine. They battle on inspite of it, but it plays heavily into the finish as Scotty applies a half crab as Rick holds off Fulton. Rogers DOES NOT give up, but PASSES OUT from the pain moments later to give the Steiners the victory at 23:31.
Post Match- Scott is so proud of himself as the ring fills with trash, you can only imagine the vulgarities that spew from Steiner's mouth.
USWA Heavyweight Title is on the line as champion: Terry Funk defends against USWA Jr. heavyweight Champion: Brian Christopher w/ "Tennessee Stud" Robert Fuller. Fun little match here with Brian showing he can hang, and Fuller helping out when need be. Finish see's Funk score with an out of nowhere DDT to retain his championship at 15:54.
Main Event 6 Man Tag as Jerry "the King" Lawler, Marcus Alexander Bagwell & the Spellbinder go to war with the Dangerous Alliance: "Terrific" Terry Taylor, Greg "the Hammer" Valentine & "the Superstar' Bill Dundee w/ Paul E Dangerously. . Good old fashioned Southern style 'rasslin here in the main event. Tons of heat. Bagwell's isolated for a good stretch and we get a hot tag to Lawler. He cleans house for a bit. Doesn't play into the finish, which is pretty simple. Five Arm from Taylor on Spellbinder sets 'em up for a pin from Dundee at 17:02. Binder really wasn't ready for this, but everyone else worked hard.
Post Match- The Alliance celebrates on the floor as Lawler & Bagwell promise revenge. Talk about a dominant night for the Dangerous Alliance!
