Using the new dating I decided to backtrack this show to this past weekend rather than wait until next weekend.

Tony Schiavone: Welcome everyone to World Championship Wrestling, and this is Saturday Night! I'm Tony Schiavone, joined as always by Jesse The Body Ventura. Jesse, another big night as we understand you've gotten it arranged, Ron Simmons and Rick Rude face to face.
Jesse Ventura: These people want something to see tonight, I guarantee that there will be fireworks here when Ravishing Rick Rude confronts the WCW Heavyweight champion Ron Simmons. Rude is in my opinion and that of many others, the number one champion in WCW today and he'll be out to tell us why later tonight!
Tony Schiavone: The tournament to crown a TV champion continues as well. Steve Regal from the U.K. against Rick The Model Martel, and after last week's double elimination, the winner here goes all the way to the finals.
Jesse Ventura: It's all on the line. One man gets a huge advantage over the rest of the pack, and I wouldn't be surprised if the winner in this one is the man that ends up with the gold around his waist.
Tony Schiavone: Main event tonight, Flyin' Brian against The Great Muta. That one promises to be a high flying affair. When we return though from commercial break, it's another high flyer as The Superfly Jimmy Snuka battles The Enforcer Arn Anderson. We'll be right back!
-- First commercial break --
Jimmy Snuka vs Arn Anderson
A battle between two veterans, it seems that Anderson has just little more ti give in this one than Snuka. Despite building a comeback in the later stages, Anderson would catch Snuka coming off the ropes and drive him into the mat with a spinebuster to pick up the pinfall victory. A big win for Double A kicks off Saturday Night and he might be in line for big things in the near future as the announcers speculate what could be next for Arn as he's playing the silent but deadly role, and for the rest of WCW, that spells trouble.
Jesse Ventura: I'm joined now by Johnny B. Badd. Last week we saw you action, but it's not your match with Terra Ryzing that I'm here to talk about. I'm here to talk about your tournament match with Vince Torelli.
Johnny B. Badd: Jesse, first off you need to understand that I'm a BADDDDDDDD man! You know I've seen this Torelli guy out here, and from what I've seen so far, he's bad news. He's quick, he's fast, but nobody can steer clear of "The Kiss That Don't Miss".
Jesse Ventura: But what if Torelli hits you with that big Belly To Belly Suplex of his?
Johnny B. Badd: He's gotta catch me first Jesse, and I'm like tutti frutti.
Jesse Ventura: Tutti frutti?
Johnny B. Badd: A-wop-bop-a-loo-bop-a-lop-bam-boom!
Jesse Ventura: Ha ha, well there you have it. When we come back, somebody I wanna see, Ravishing Rick in action!
-- Second commercial break --
Joey Maggs vs Rick Rude
The reigning United States champion takes to the ring before his big promised face to face with Heavyweight champion Ron Simmons later on. His opponent Jumping Joey Maggs proves to be no match on this night, as Rude has little trouble dominating the match even with it being non title. Rude eventually hits the Rude Awakening and easily puts his opponent to rest for a pinfall win. The announcers put over that we haven't seen the last of Rude tonight as he'll be back out later on.
Tony Schiavone: Alright, I'm standing by with Robbie V. We saw you in action last week against Chris Benoit. Tough break as both of you are eliminated from the tournament for the TV championship.
Robbie V: It's by no means ideal, but I think I could have beaten Chris Benoit last week. All I needed was 5 more minutes. We might both be out of the tournament now, but what I want next week is 5 more minutes.
Tony Schiavone: After going the distance last time, is 15 minutes going to be enough?
Robbie V: 15 minutes is all that I need to put Chris Benoit's shoulders down to the mat for the three count. I might not be the next WCW TV champion, but I intend to be there when whoever wins takes it home, and he'll have to put up with me breathing down his neck. I will beat Chris Benoit yet.
Tony Schiavone: Alright, big challenge laid out just now. Robbie V wants 15 minutes with Chris Benoit. When we come back, the tournament continues. Stay tuned.

Steve Regal vs Rick Martel
As stated earlier, the winner of this one goes all the way to the finals set to take place at the August Clash of The Champions live on TBS. We have seen a fire in the U.K. youngster Regal, but against Martel, he has his toughest challenge to date. The two square off, and Regal has Martel on the go in the late stages of this one. Martel begs off from Regal, but the fiery Brit has no mercy for The Model. As he goes in to take out Martel, the veteran backs into a corner and is able to trip up Regal into a pin. Putting his own feet onto the middle ropes, Martel uses the added leverage to secure a pinfall here. The referee misses everything, and Martel will now advance all the way to the final match. We could be looking at the next TV champion!
Jesse Ventura: I'm joined now by Ravishing Rick Rude. Lots of tough competition these days, but none tougher than the U.S. champ!
Rick Rude: That's right Jesse. History tonight will repeat itself when I win gold one more time. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, and that's a lesson that Ron Simmons need learn because he fails to understand it. He might be Heavyweight champion now, but after I get through with him, expect a changing of the guard.
Jesse Ventura: Thus far though, Ron Simmons has looked unstoppable.
Rick Rude: Unstoppable is a relative term. If you put a common man against a child Jesse, the common man wins every time. Put that same man against a locomotive though, and suddenly the game changes. I am that locomotive, and what I bring to the table is something that Ron Simmons has never faced before. What I do to him will not be pretty.
Jesse Ventura: Not pretty, ha! Something rarely associated with you.
Rick Rude: But me with the title, THAT is not only pretty ... that is ravishing!
Jesse Ventura: Alright, and we have Ron Simmons in action next. Will he accept the challenge when the two are put face to face, we're about to find out!
-- Fourth commercial break --
Ron Simmons vs Mark Starr
The non title match serves more as a backdrop for the announcers to talk about the possibility of Ron Simmons vs Rick Rude than the beating that Simmons dishes out to Starr. In no time at all, Simmons is able to hit the snap scoop powerslam and pick up the victory with a pin. With no time to celebrate though, Rude is out and in his face. He asks Simmons yes or no, will he wrestle him for the WCW Heavyweight championship. Before Simmons can answer though, all too familiar music comes over the P.A. in Center Stage. Out from the doors steps ...
... IT'S RIC FLAIR! He hasn't been seen in WCW in over a year!!! Center Stage goes crazy as Flair walks out in an armani suit, dressed to the nines. Simmons and Rude separate as Flair goes up onto the apron and steps into the ring. The announcers speculate what, or rather WHO is Flair out here for? Flair looks both men up and down, lets out a loud WOOOOOOOOO and goes on his way. What was that all about? Rude is beside himself and Simmons seems ready to go right now, but Rude just leaves the ring upset with all that has went down just now.
-- Fifth commercial break --
Tony Schiavone: What an incredible night, and it just gets bigger as I'm joined now by the WCW Tag Team champions Sting and Lex Luger.
Sting: OWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! What a night Tony Schiavone! Can you believe it man, Ric Flair BACK in WCW?!? We have more important matters at hand though right now because me and flexy Lexy are out here to throw it down to the Steiner Brothers. Last week we told them what it was all about, and this week it's time. It is time for us to say that we want them, we want those NWA Tag Team championships, and we want them at the Clash Of The Champions!
Lex Luger: That's right Stinger. Rick and Scott are two of the most phenomenal athletes in wrestling today. Unfortunately for them though, they are not THE elite that the two of us are. Give us that match. Give it to us, and you will be looking at the next NWA Tag Team champions, and first ever joint WCW and NWA World Tag Taam champions. Undisputed, there will be absolutely no disputing it.
Tony Schiavone: We certainly look forward to that one. I'm sure that The Steiners will be more than happy to address that when they next appear on WCW Saturday Night, whenever that is in the coming weeks. Right now though, it's main event time!
Brian Pillman vs The Great Muta
During the match, it gets announced that Robbie V's challenge has been accepted and next week it's him vs Chris Benoit, 15 minute time limit! Flyin' Brian meanwhile puts on a show early on, only to have Muta turn things around after a chop to the throat. Pillman wouldn't be down for long though as he'd mount a come back. Muta looked to be close to the end as Pillman went up top. Pillman though would end up coming off into Muta's green mist to the eyes. The referee calls for the bell and Pillman will pick up a DQ victory in this one, but Muta keeps going. He's eventually sent running when Marty Jannetty and Steve Regal are out for the save. Muta sends a statement though with this one, and Flyin' Brian is looking a little worst for wear after this go around.
With that, the show goes off the air with the Saturday Night logo, and the announcers reminding viewers to come back for more next week at 6:05 eastern on TBS.
