Our opening match see's new comer The Gambler mix it up with Chris Hamrick. Crowd wasn't really into this one, but Hamrick did a dive on the floor to get their attention. Finish see's Gambler roll thru a cross bodyblock and hook the tights for the win at 5:45.
A huge grudge match followed as Koko B. Ware & The Spellbinder teamed up to face the Gangstas (New Jack & Mustafa) w/ Wolfie D & company. Wolfie's playing hype man on the floor, the rest of the crew is just standing there look menacing. Fun bout, some sloppy power wrestling mixed in though with Binder & Mustafa in there. Finish see's Koko get pinned as a result of the official being out of position and Wolfie clobbering him with a slap jack at 10:45. Crowd pelted the Gangstas with trash as soon as the bell sounded, leading to a tense moment involving security.
Ron Harris of the Bruise Brothers squares off against Billy Joe Travis next. Crybaby chants are in full effect. After a bunch of stalling and what not, Harris puts Travis away with a sideslam at 7:17. Water works follow after the match as per usual.
USWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship is on the line as Brian Christopher defends against "Simply Irresistible" Jeff Jarrett. Brian is in all his glory here as a heel, Jarrett has the crowd roaring behind him. Match of the night thus far. Near the end we get a ref bump as Christopher pulls the official into harms way. Jarrett scores with the second rope dropkick and covers, the official calls for the bell. HE'S DISQUALIFYING CHRISTOPHER! Official time 19:32. Christopher again retains!
Post Match- Christopher shows off, big mistake there as Jarrett ends up scoring with an uppercut sending him up and over the top rope!
Intermission
We return with the long awaited debut of Doomsday w/ Daryl Van Horne as he battles Don Harris of the Bruise Brothers. Doomsday remains mysterious here. Harris takes the fight to 'em but the big man doesn't move his feet. Once he finally does (off three Harris clotheslines and a side slam) he amazes the crowd by sitting right the heck up! Big boot for Don follows. Here comes the power bomb! No cover however, as Doomsday lifts him up and DOES IT AGAIN! As Doomsday sets up a third one, the official calls for the bell awarding the match to the masked man as a result of a stoppage at 7:10!
Post Match- The official tries to get Doomsday to release his grasp, he finally does and scares the official away. HERE COMES THE POWER BOMB! No RON HARRIS hits the ring! Ron and Doomsday have a stare down, but Van Horne urges Doomsday to retreat.
Van Horne's right back out there with our next match up, this time to lead the Black Hearts (Apocalypse & Destruction) into battle as they challenge the Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) for the USWA Tag Team Championships. Fun match. Both teams mix it up well together. Finish see's Fulton go up for the Super Bomb but Rogers is there to take Destruction out of the equation. Fulton is then able to turn the tables and reverse his fate with a top rope frankensteiner/ hurricunrana! He quickly dives on top of the following Apocalypse to retain the titles at 15:45.
Main event time at the Coliseum as USWA Heavyweight Champion: Terry Funk captains the team of Jerry "the King" Lawler, "Superstar" Bill Dundee & brand new TV5 Champion: Marcus Alexander Bagwell into action against the Dangerous Alliance team consisted of "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol, "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert, Greg "the Hammer" Valentine & "Terrific" Terry Taylor w/ Paul E. Dangerously. Lots of bad blood in play here fans. Some interesting interactions with Funk & King as Funker is in overly nice mode, allowing King to play straight man. Odd duck our champion is these days. This one goes on for close to 42 minutes. Finish with everyone brawling around ringside, Gilbert scores with a Hot Shot on Funk, but Bagwell cuts him off before he can cover. Idol covers, and AUSTIN IDOL HAS PINNED THE USWA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION at 42:38!
Post Match- We get a SHOVING match with Idol & a crazed Gilbert! Paul E. tries to play peace maker, but Gilbert storms out. This leaves the DA at a 4 on 3 disadvantage as our heroes get back into this thing after the match and chase the DA to the back!
