Some good developments going on here. I like the emphasis on Austin, although I hope we get more in-depth promos from him in the future. I liked your earlier work with him, and I have hopes that you'll continue to tweak him in that same vein. I'd love to hear Austin's real "voice" come through in his interviews again.
Okay. I'll admit. That challenge from Erik Watts was just awesome. Having Watts address the Florida crowd from a UWF setting was just plain cool. Nice touch right there, man. And taping the "UWF" letters of the "FCW" banner on the actual medal itself? Neat stuff. I must applaud your efforts with Watts' heel persona thus far. It's all kinds of cool. The big man/little man dynamic with Mysterio could lead to some really fun matches in the big scheme of things, too.
However, in the meantime, I wish you'd highlight & feature Rey's amazing arsenal. Como was the right opponent for that sort of thing, but the recap was way too brief. In the future, I hope you take the time to include just another sentence or two to really showcase Rey's phenomenal in-ring attributes. It'd really help to sell him as the groundbreaking athlete that he should be here.
Good spot for Bolin. I like that he's teasing a new talent. You do this quite a lot with Kenny though, so for familiar readers like myself - it feels very familiar. Just hope to see a new twist to it this time. Also enjoying the idea of Teddy Long being paired with Harlem Heat. Could be good for them.
Chavis locking horns with Vegas? That should make for some fun mid-card work. Smart move to put the belt on Dustin. We all knew it was coming, and you didn't gloss over it TOO quickly, so I dig that. The celebration would have capped it off nicely.
I don't mind these abbreviated formats. For recap purposes, they certainly have their place. But I don't think you were really far behind or anything. I'd personally rather see a show turn up late, with more attention to detail & a few more refined edges, than just have something tossed out there. Maybe that's just me. But yeah. Unless you're falling far behind, I'd rather one solid show than two or three cards of nothing but quick notes.
All in all, you do good work. Like a lot of the stuff you're doing down in Florida, man. Keep it coming.

More fine action from Florida. Like what you're doing with Erik Watts.

I agree with Savage on being a bit behind and getting a little more developed shows, especially when you aren't behind by any stretch of the imagination, but I'll take what I can when I can.
I have to say the stuff you are doing with Erik Watts is awesome, even surpassing the work you are doing with Austin.

Really fun stuff. I love the youth movement and it's realistic presentation. You're not doing too much with guys who didn't fully develop for years to come and are spotlighting the "right" youngsters here. What I mean by that, guys who at the start of their careers got a push are getting just that, and guys who aren't ready yet are doing just fine as enhancement. I'm not really digging the Watts stuff, but hey everyone else is so no worries there . Just don't think Watts could pull off the character just yet. Loved that you put Rey in their with Como, easily the best match you can get out of Rey right now with your roster. Have you put any thought into picking up Juventud? Juvy/Rey rivalry in Mexico really helped put Rey on the map, and to a lesser extent Juvy. Could be fun, just a random thought there as he's on the FA list. The Austin stuff is great, and I'm super curious as to who Kenny's bringing in as the "true" Florida Champion, have a rough idea but I'll just sit back and see if I'm right. Great stuff.

That's where I think CDW has done a great job. Watts, a former college QB at 6'6" and over 250 pounds, not only has the name that is known but has the look. In his tenure, he hasn't really had to do much of anything and I am thinking when his feud with Rey Jr. is over, it will have been used to get Rey over even more. The promos have been quick and effective getting Watts over as the heel to babyface Rey Jr. and he'll play "Goliath" to his opponent's "David". Will he be the long term "answer" that Austin will be? I don't think so because as you already said, Watts probably couldn't pull that off but in this spot in the promotion's early days, I think he's perfect.

Just hope it doesn't turn into another Lance Von Erich situation, haha.
Very similar stuff, I was over on the "other" board and saw that WCW now has Al Snow as it's champion. Now I'm a huge Snow mark but Al Snow as WCW champion in '92 is ridiculous. Especially when the person booking it, doesn't write promos or do any real "character" work. Even with it, still is extremely hard to buy into Snow, Brian Lee & Louie Spicolli as top heels in a promotion that features Hulk Hogan, Dr. Death, Ultimate Warrior, Barry Windham & Mr. Perfect, especially in 1992.
Sorry to veer so off topic.

Sorry to veer so off topic. Yeah, with a line-up of Hogan, Dr. Death, the Warrior, Windham and Perfect, it is a bit hard to see Snow as "The Guy". Back on topic, I think in the right situation, Watts can be a fun one to play with. In a top NWA promotion facing the World Champions, I don't think Erik is the guy but lower on down the line, I think he has some entertaining usage.

I'm personally loving Snow as the WCW Champ on the other board. Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I think that's part of the appeal in fantasy booking - trying things like that & attempting to make them work. Is it believable? Nah, not totally. But Snow packs that Piper or Gilbert vibe with him, and I'm enough of a mark for his Smoky Mountain stuff to really get behind the idea & give it a chance.
Guys like Doc, Hogan, and Warrior may tower over him, but Snow can play the weasel bit to the hilt. Surround him with the right workers in the right performances, and I think you can get mileage out of a guy like him as the cowardly champ. It's probably better suited for a mid-card title reign, sure. But I like the bold idea of trying it out at the top. The talk segment definitely helps in spotlighting him, too.
BACK ON THIS TOPIC, I dig the Watts stuff. In a major way, actually. As Ape stated, it's a tremendous springboard for the young Erik to get noticed. With Florida in its early stages, I'd say this still has a lot of room for Erik to spread his wings with the angle & really milk it. Rey, as the ultimate underdog, is just the right rival for him. I'd say it's more about piling the heat onto Erik - just to benefit Rey in the long run really. When you look at it in that light, then it's easy to get behind the idea.
At least to me, it seems that way. It's more about elevating Rey in the long haul than Watts himself.

I love the detail of the tape over the medalion. Really is the kind of extra that could help Wattts get over. Like the Real Champion build-up. Austin's open challenge could lead to some interesting stuff. Another enjoyable aspect for me is the use of Todd Champion and Chavis.
Brief but enjoyable. These catch-ups do help you stay current. But,as the others have said, details could help, as well.
