W*ING The Final Take Off?
It appears as though the real life promotional war between W*ING and FMW has come to an end. Although the "war" will continue in FMW as an angle, W*ING president Kiyoshi "Mickey" Ibaragi has announced that the up coming December 23rd Korakuen Hall which features the debut of former FMW wrestler Tarzan Goto & Mr. Gannosuke, will go down as the FINAL W*ING show (tag lined: The Last Take Off).
This is after it was announced that heel manager and securing of the gaijin talent: Victor QuiƱones was leaving the promotion (money issues it would appear) and taking the HeadHunters & Crash The Terminator with him. His leaving also effects the W*ING/WWC relationship a great deal, and without the gaijin, the top draws (Matsunaga & Pogo respectively) and the top heel manager, the W*ING owner can no longer compete with FMW.
BUT the show must go on, and the FINAL W*ING main event will be Tarzan Goto & Mr. Gannosuke, and former FMW worker Ryo Miyake (As Team FMW) battling Yukihiro Kanemura (the heart of W*ing, AKA W*ing's Tommy Dreamer in a sense) Nobutaka Araya & Shoji Nakamaki in a barbed wire street fight.
Victor QuiƱones and his crew are rumored to be FMW bound yet again. Tarzan Goto isn't panicking at all as he's met with a wealthy backer about starting up a new promotion with whatever is left from W*ing and other indy workers, so that'll be something to watch out for in the new year. It'll also be curious to see who ends up in FMW and who ends up in Goto's start up promotion. Goto told the press that his backer is "very wealthy" and money wasn't a concern.
These events also add intrigue to the up coming FMW year end show, as a W*ING worker is set to defect in one of the main events and team with Atsushi Onita, Mitsuhiro "Mr Danger" Matsunaga, & Mr. Pogo in the main event. It should be noted that Victor's leaving was well known by FMW and perhaps one of the gaijin defectors will be the partner, BUT ALSO plans can change on the fly due to the current climate in Japan.
