Live from The Coliseum
November 25, 1993
8:00 pm eastern
Jacksonville, Florida
From ringside ...
Tony Schiavone: From the River City in the Sunshine State, this is Monday Nitro, this is TNT, and this is WCW! We are live from The Coliseum here in Jacksonville, Florida, and only 3 days away from 1 of the biggest nights in the history of televised wrestling. Hello everybody, I'm Tony Schiavone and joining me tonight is the Living Legend himself, Larry Zbyszko. With the Clash of the Champions looming, we are set for a huge night here. Get this Legend, not 1, but 2 elimination matches. We are doing Thanksgiving early here, and we are giving it to the fans for free. WCW's way of saying thanks. And what a big thanks it will be when Ric Flair teams with Rowdy Roddy Piper, and they will be joined by Dustin Rhodes and Johnny B. Badd. Those 4 to take on Ravishing Rick Rude, Barry Windham, Diamond Dallas Page, and Max Muscle.
Larry Zbyszko: And you have to wonder which team will be the last men standing, or last man maybe. Here in WCW, we are used to the epic War Games, but unlike that match, brutal and punishing in an entirely different way, tonight you could see 2 on 1, 3 on 1, maybe even 4 against 1. That's not a situation any wrestler wants to find themselves in, but it could very well come to be a reality right here tonight.
Tony Schiavone: And not only that, but another elimination match, this 1 however to feature 8 tag teams. Tag Team champions 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Alexander Bagwell to team with The Road Warriors, The Nasty Boys, and The Cole Twins Legend. Their opponents will be Bobby Eaton and Chris Benoit, Harlem Heat, The Hollywood Blonds, and the team of Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce. That match an entirely different animal as 1 member of a team gets eliminated, both must leave. That means we could potentially see a scenario of 8 against 2.
Larry Zbyszko: I stand corrected from before. The only thing worse than a 4 on 1 could be that. Imagine Tony, standing in that ring and looking across at 8 men. Having fought a long, grueling match, your partner out of it. That could end a career if these guys aren't careful in there.
Tony Schiavone: Indeed it might. In addition to that, the Computer Contenders Challenge continues tonight, plus Cactus Jack to take on Yoshi Kwan in a rematch from 2 weeks ago here on this very program. You'll recall Legend that in that match, Yoshi Kwan pinned Cactus Jack thanks to help from Big Van Vader. The match tonight however, a regular 1 on 1 with DQs in play, meaning hopefully we will get a clean match there. Right now though (Sting's music hits interrupting him), ok! There you hear it. We're kicking things off this week big as there you hear the music, and we just await him. And, yes, I think he's coming ...
... STING! Sting is out and his way to the ring as the commentators go over that he intends to call out The Nature Boy Ric Flair tonight to get to the bottom of last week. Brother Brutus was evidently not The Black Scorpion last week, unless he discovered the art of black magic according to Larry Zbyszko, and Flair no showed a scheduled match moments later leading to the speculation. Of course adding to that is the big elephant in the room that Flair was revealed as the original Black Scorpion some 3 years ago. Sting is in the ring and ready to speak.
Sting: Ric, Flair! I know you're back there, me and you have some business to talk about out here, and I wanna do it right now! So come on Ric. Come on! We don't have all night. Get out here, or I'll go back there and bring you down here myself!
And with that, somebody appears at the entrance, but fans start booing instead of cheering ...
... and that would be because it is the WCW commissioner J.J. Dillon. Heading out, he enters the ring with something to say, only 3 nights before he is scheduled to sign Hulk Hogan to a WCW contract, and sign Sting vs Hogan for Starrcade next month.
Sting: I wanted Ric Flair, not Ric Flair's lackey from 5 years ago. J.J., you go back there right now and you find Flair because me and him have something to talk about right now!
J.J. Dillon: Sting, hold on here. Hold on. I think you're a little misdirected out here right now. Maybe a little confused. This Black Scorpion stuff? For weeks, all you could do is tell me to get Hulk Hogan here. You threaten to walk if I don't. You threaten to leave WCW and go to the other guys and do the match there. So what did I do? Against my own better judgment, against the judgment of people with a lot more power around here than me, I'm doing that. Last week I told you that I would bring Hulk Hogan to the Clash of Champions on Thanksgiving night, I would sign the ultimate dream match that every fan has been waiting for, that both of you have been waiting for. And now tonight, instead of thanking me, you're out here talking about Ric Flair now. What's next Sting, huh? Are you going to want me to go and get Ted Turner to walk out here so you can out him in the Scorpion Deathlock too?
Sting: J.J., I'm telling you now. Go get Flair, bring him out here NOW! Cause if you don't, well, let's just say you might regret that decision.
J.J. Dillon: So just like you threatened to walk out on WCW Sting, now you're threatening me? Look, you'd better get your head on straight here because if you don't and you lose that match at Starrcade, you're not even going to have a head period. Sting, these people have a lot invested into the 3 letters WCW. They have a lot invested in you. You're in a must win situation, forget about Ric Flair!
Sting: J.J., this isn't that hard. You wanna talk Hogan? You wanna talk Starrcade? I've still got a match Thursday night against The Black Scorpion and Big Van Vader, so with all due respect, maybe you should step aside and let me do what I have to do out here. You wanna talk Hogan? I'll do all the talking in the world next Monday night, but I have other problems right now, and the problem is Ric Flair.
And with that, Also sprach zarathustra starts playing. Fans cheer as out comes The Nature Boy himself. Looks like they will not have to wait any longer here. Sting stands in the ring with J.J. Dillon trying to back him up as Flair enters, looking like he has a purpose.
Sting: About time Ric. About time because I wanna know the same thing all these fans wanna know. Where were you last Monday for that tag team match? Where were you when minutes before that The Black Scorpion was out here taking me out? I don't think I need to remind these people of your questionable past Ric.
Ric Flair: You wanna know where I was? YOU wanna know where I was?! I'll tell you right now Stinger and you're not gonna like it. Was I The Black Scorpion? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! You're damn right I was! You're damn ... (throws off his jacket, hits the ropes, struts back to deliver an elbow drop onto the coat and gets up without missing beat to continue) ... you are damn right that Ric Flair was The Black Scorpion! Last week was I? Not a chance pal. Was I the week before? No way. Sting, 3 years ago, I did what I had to do. I did it and I regret absolutely nothing because at the end of the day, I got into that head of yours and I walked out of it once again the WCW champion when all was said and done. But this time? Don't, make, me, LAUGH! You wanna know who The Black Scorpion is buddy? Pull off the mask. You're Sting! You, are, Sting! You are the life blood of WCW, don't let some punk come out here and do that to you! Was I The Black Scorpion? Damn straight. Am I The Black Scorpion? Not a chance! If I wanted to hit you Sting, I don't need a mask to disguise myself. You remember the night after War Games? We walked into that ring and we tore it up. I know where you and I stand. I don't hide mySELF! I don't hide from anybody. If I want to take you out Sting, I'm doing it to your face so that when I do, you'll look up and know that it was The Nature Boy himself, Ric, by God, Flair!
J.J. Dillon: Hold on here a-
Ric Flair: WHAT?! What do you want? You don't interrupt me, you understand?
J.J. Dillon: Ric, please. I know we've had our differences out here. I mean, I don't know if you're this Black Scorpion or what, but if you are, cut it out. Starrcade is an important match, and we don't need this. WCW doesn't need this.
Ric Flair: Did you not just HEAR ME?! James J. Dillon, I am not The Black Scorpion, and if I'm lying, then I'm dying! You know better than anybody, if Ric Flair wants something done, he doesn't hide from anybody! Least of all you, or you (Sting), or even myself! I got my career on the line Thursday night, do you think I have time to run around in a, a mask?! A by God, freaking MASK?!
J.J. Dillon: Ric, please, calm down.
Ric Flair: Oh, you want me to calm down? You want The Nature Boy to calm down here in Jacksonville?! Hey brother, I'm fired up now. You got me pissed off and this thing's going down now J.J. It's going down.
Flair starts loosening his tie and unbuttons his shirt cuffs as Dillon backs into a corner.
Sting: Hey! HEY! Forget him. J.J., get the hell out of here now. Ric, you got me to answer to and if you wanna go with anybody, go with me right now!
Flair redirects his attention to Sting as Dillon leaves the ring.
Sting: Let me ask you this then Ric. If you weren't The Scorpion last week, then where were you to team up with Roddy Piper? Why weren't you there in the main event?
Ric Flair: I'll tell you where I was, even though I don't answer to you! I don't answer to J.J. Dillon! The only person that The Nature Boy answers to pal is the red light here in Jacksonville when I go out to party all, night, long! Sting! Last week?! I was laid out by some no good piece of garbage just like you were. Somebody jumped ME from behind, and you know damn well if you hadn't been out here, you'd be getting the finger pointed right at you.
Sting: Gee Ric. Why don't I believe that? So you just happened to get jumped, in the back, right as I had to wrestle Brother Brutus out here? Pretty good timing huh?
Ric Flair: Like I said Sting. I have nothing to gain by hiding my face. If me and you go at it, I want you to look me in the eye and know that the man making you scream uncle out here, that's Ric Flair pal. If I'm putting down the Stinger, these people will know, and you'll know it. Believe it. But if you wanna do this Stinger, I got a couple hours to kill, so you wanna go? You wanna go? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Let's go!
Flair and Sting stand eye to eye, nose to nose, but before they can go at it, they get interrupted.
From the back, the WCW champion Big Van Vader and manager Harley Race are out at the entrance.
Harley Race: Sting, you stupid fool! This man right here, my man, Big Van Vader is teaming with The Black Scorpion, and I can assure you that the last person he would ever team up with is that man right there. I would sooner drop dead and roll over in my grave than have to stand in that man's corner. Me and Flair have history, and there's no way in hell I'm associating myself with a man that has such little respect for the man that came before him. The man who made all this possible. If it wasn't for me 10 years ago at the first ever Starrcade, Ric Flair wouldn't be here today, and you wouldn't be here today either. Hell, not a single 1 of you fans would be here because you'd better believe if I had left World champion that night, I'd have never set foot in this God forsaken city again! You wanna know who The Black Scorpion is Sting? I know who it is! Vader knows who it is! You Sting? You will never know! Hahaha.
Vader and Race leave as Flair and Sting resume their glances.
Ric Flair: Hey! I told you straight. If I do it, it's not in your back, it's right between the eyes.
Sting: I'm watching you Ric. I'm watching you. (leans in close) Woo.
And with that, Sting exits the ring and starts to leave as Flair hits the ropes, and struts again. He stops mid ring, lets out a WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! and the commentators say that they will be right back.
-- First commercial break --
Tony Schiavone: Welcome back, and a very heated opening out here on Nitro. Is Ric Flair The Black Scorpion? Seems like we're no closer to an answer now than we were last week Legend. you know him, and in your personal opinion, do you think that Ric Flair is The Black Scorpion?
Larry Zbyszko: Look, I have no idea. A week ago everybody was certain that it was Brother Brutus, now everybody's pointing the finger at Ric Flair. I don't know who's under the mask, but apparently Harley Race does, and you can bet Sting will be trying to find out Thursday when he gets The Scorpion in that ring. And if he doesn't unmask him, then I'd say Race had better watch his back because that admission was 1 of guilt. And if he has answers, Sting is in the state of mind that he may do whatever he has to, in order to get them.
Tony Schiavone: And speaking of what we just saw ...
... we are joined now by the commissioner J.J. Dillon, and certainly you were caught in the middle of that situation.
J.J. Dillon: I think what we have here is an unfortunate problem. Sting and Ric Flair should be going into that ring, and they should be working together. Hulk Hogan's coming, we've got Brother Brutus running around, this Black Scorpion stuff. As we head into Starrcade, this could be a gigantic problem for WCW Tony. Big problem. You know normally I'd be inclined with a threat like that, to fine, even suspend, but with the Clash of Champions in only 3 nights, the only people that would punish is the great fans here in WCW. The fans here tonight in Jacksonville, Florida. I'm not about to do that.
Larry Zbyszko: Plus can you even really suspend Sting? You do that right now, he just walks and Hogan has no obligation to sign that contract in 3 days. No reason.
J.J. Dillon: Exactly. Now, for the reason I'm out here. Big night tonight here on Nitro. Not only do we have a couple huge elimination matches, but the continuation of the Computer Contenders Challenge gentlemen. So far we've seen Dustin Rhodes and Rick Rude, 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Bagwell against Bobby Eaton and Chris Benoit, and last week Ron Simmons and Big Van Vader. You know, I'm starting to think we should do this every week out here, but that's something me and my office will have to look into. And before I make the announcement, as you know there are 2 championships. The title that is not on the line tonight, it will be decided on Thursday in a Computer Contenders Challenge match at the Clash of Champions. So tonight you will get either Ice Train defending the U.S. title, or Lord Steven Regal defending the TV title. And the odd man out, defends his title Thursday. All about the fans here in WCW, all about entertainment. That's the WCW motto guys.
Larry Zbyszko: So who is it? These fans wanna know, I wanna know too.
J.J. Dillon: Well, the championship to be defended tonight ... the TV title of Lord Steven Regal. Yes. And that means that on Thursday, we will see Ice Train defend the U.S. title at the Clash of Champions. Who knows though, Lord Steven may not even be TV champion by that time. As for his opponent tonight. The computer as you know, it works in mysterious ways. It processes at lightning like speeds, it calculates all possible data. So what we have-
Tony Schiavone: Hold on here, we have company. We have company because Lord Steven Regal and Jean Paul Levesque are out.
Larry Zbyszko: No wonder what stinks out here. Pepe Lepew and the smell of the Queen's rear.
Steven Regal: Of course. The same tired routine from you Mr. Zbyszko, I'd expect nothing less out here from a shoddy American like yourself. Even these plebeians have got bored of your words, so I can only imagine what an utter thrill it is to have a real wrestler like me out here. A true champion. You'd think it were bloody Beatlemania or something.
Larry Zbyszko: Hey, is it too late to get my name on that computer stuff?
Jean Paul Levesque: Monsieur Zbyszko, don't concern yourself with something that is beyond your skills. You may have been at 1 time, a great wrestler. Today however, you are not even an average announcer, and probably quite a poor 1 in fact. I wouldn't know because I mute the TV whenever your voice comes on. You are what my people call "les incompetents". All you need to know is that there is only 1 wrestler back there. 1 man that the computer could possibly deem a worthy contender to the TV title. 1 wrestler that has the skills to stand up to his Lordship, and you're looking at him. You're all looking at him, and I can assure everybody that there is no way I am going to give any of you the pleasure of watching the 2 of us go at it. I will not lower myself to please you Americans by having us soil ourselves for your entertainment. I won't-
J.J. Dillon: It's not you.
The 2 get upset by that announcement.
Steven Regal: Listen here sunshine, you go back to that computer and you hit a few keys and do all that nonsense again. I can tell you first hand that there is only 1 wrestler in this place that can give me a challenge, and I think I'd know because I've been training him myself. Whatever name you have on that little piece of paper there, you can just rip it in half and give this man what he deserves. The honor of being named my challenger so that we can call it a night and have a good chat over some tea because we're not wrestling like Victor the bear here, some circus side show.
J.J. Dillon: So what you're saying is you want this man as your opponent, so that you don't have to wrestle him? That's not very reassuring. I can tell you this much though. We ran the process not once, not twice, several times. And each time it returned the same name Mr. Regal. The same challenger that will go after that TV title tonight, in that ring.
Regal grabs the piece of paper to look at his opponent for himself.
After walking away in panic, Zbyszko and Dillon having a good laugh, Levesque seems confused.
J.J. Dillon: His opponent tonight? Shane Douglas!
The fans cheer, though Levesque is none too pleased.
Jean Paul Levesque: Clearly there was a mistake with your computer Monsieur Dillon. I came here to wrestle tonight, and I came here to wrestle a champion. You go back there, you rerun whatever program gave you that mistake, and you make sure that when you come back out here, you read my name. There is only 1 name in that locker room that any computer should be deciding is the best, and that's me!
J.J. Dillon: If you want a match Mr. Levesque, I can give you 1. I can give you 1 right now. And while you might have the shot tonight, I can guarantee that if you win this match, there is no way the computer could ever over look you for a shot at the U.S. championship on Thursday at the Clash.
Jean Paul Levesque: Finally! Finally you are doing something right, and I hope you are watching Monsieur Zbyszko, because I'm the future of WCW and you are the past.
Levesque enters the ring and readies himself.
J.J. Dillon: I guess I should let you know who your opponent is. The way I see it, 2 people were back there knew for sure their names might be read and had to be prepared. 1 of them was Regal, the other? Ice Train. Good luck!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
vs
Probably not what Jean Paul Levesque had in mind right now. The U.S. champion Ice Train heads down and enters the ring. While Levesque was not picked by the computer tonight, J.J. Dillon is likely correct that a win here in a non title match over the otherwise undefeated Ice Train would be unignorable by the computer come 3 days from now. That aside, Levesque seems in a slight panic because he has had no preparation whatsoever for this "opportunity". As Train enters the ring and the bell rings, Levesque even goes so far as to wave it off. He goes to the outside, sticks his nose up to all the fans and readies to leave. The commentators mention that Levesque must think he is above this process, leading Larry Zbyszko to say that he will see about that. As Levesque walks away, Zbyszko gets up from the ringside commentary table and goes over to grab. He turns Levesque and brings him back, throwing him in under the bottom rope. Levesque gets up and turns back to Zbyszko to yell at him, before turning to a charging Ice Train that floors him with a double thrust to the chest. Levesque gets up with spaghetti legs, looking like he has been knocked into 1994 already when he turns into a hard clothesline from Train. Levesque gets picked up, sent into the ropes, and Train gives a loud "Choo! Choo!" before catching Levesque with a scoop powerslam into a cover for the 3 count. Zbyszko exclaims "Well that was fast", and indeed it was with Levesque's stalling lasting longer than the actual wrestling part of the match. The commentators say that it looks like 1 name can be crossed off the list of Ice Train's potential challengers for Thursday after that.
-- Second commercial break --
Tony Schiavone: Welcome back to WCW Monday Nitro, live here on TNT. Before the break, you saw it. Jean Paul Levesque, well, not his day Legend.
Larry Zbyszko: You know, if there's 1 thing I hate more than a nosy Englishman, it's a nosy Frenchman. Literally. They like to talk big and when the going gets tough, they get going. It's like World War II all over again out here. I don't like either of them and just like what happened before the break, I hope that later tonight, Shane Douglas shows Steve Regal that we here in America don't like British TV and that the championship comes home across the Atlantic where it belongs.
Tony Schiavone: And that very well could happen. That match to come later, as are many others tonight, including the big 4 on 4 elimination match. 2 men in that match ...
... are joining us right now, referring of course to Diamond Dallas Page and Max Muscle.
Dallas Page: Yeah, it's me, it's me, it's D, D, P. Man, this place is so lame, ain't it Max? Jacksonville, Florida? Please. More like Bore-ida, if ya know what I mean?
Max stands with arms crossed having a smirk at that comment that nobody else gave an inch to.
Tony Schiavone: Later on tonight, you 2 are in that big elimination match, teaming with Rick Rude and Barry Windham. Your opponents though are Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Dustin Rhodes, and Johnny B. Badd. Lots to contend with.
Dallas Page: Yeah, yeah. Hey, ring, ring. Who's there? I, don't care! You understand me Schiavone? Those 4 like to think they're lots to contend with, but you want the real deal, you're looking at him. With Max on our side, there ain't no way any of them are getting their hands on me. There's no way any of them even make it to Thursday. And speaking of which, top to bottom, where am I on that thing? Nowhere to be found.
Larry Zbyszko: Who do I thank for that?
Dallas Page: Hey, if I wanted your opinion, I'd have Max here beat it out of you. Now, as for DDP and the Clash, if you really want to give thanks to these fans, give me a match. I don't care against who, I don't care. It doesn't matter. Bring back that loser Studd for all I care. Doesn't matter. Starting tonight and at the Clash, all you need to know is 1994's gonna be a big year for DDP cause I got big muscle behind me. Get it? Got it? Good.
Tony Schiavone: Alright, Diamond Dallas Page! And he is in action later tonight in the main event. Right now though, back to the ring for more action, right here live on WCW Monday Nitro.

A feud that has played out over the last month here on Nitro reaches the status of "grudge match" here tonight. Brad Armstrong along with valet Toni Adams has spent the past several weeks taking advantage of 1 time tag team partner The Z Man. First it was a win the night after Halloween Havoc by faking an injury, then a win the next week in the King of Cable tournament with outside help from Adams. No longer able to become the King and Queen of Cable that had been desired, Armstrong may be falling off the roll he had been on and Zenk is here and ready to capitalize. The 2 get a good 10 minutes here, with Zenk going up early with revenge on his mind. He has Armstrong begging off in a corner, but it all ended up being just a ploy to lure Zenk in and rake his eyes. Armstrong then threw him face first into the turnbuckle and started kicking away. The referee gave a 5 count to break, and when Armstrong did not, the ref stepped in. This only gave Adams the chance to start choking Zenk behind his back. Armstrong started to go to work, focusing on the leg of Zenk, a strategy that Larry Zbyszko points out could ground the aerial assault that he is known for. The big spot is a half crab, but Zenk manages to get to the ropes and draw a break. Armstrong continues and prepares for the 3/4 nelson Russian legsweep, but Zenk is able to counter it into a belly to back suplex instead. As the 2 get up, Zenk starts going on the offense. A big moment is a dropkick and a count when Adams gets up on to the apron. Zenk gets up and grabs her, as Armstrong gets up. He charges, but Zenk moves and Armstrong ends up knocking Adams off the apron to the floor. Armstrong turns to a superkick, before Zenk heads outside to go up to the top rope. As Armstrong gets up, Zenk leaps off into a flying crossbody and a pin. The referee goes down and makes the count, reaching 3. Zenk wins and gets a measure of revenge against Armstrong here tonight. The commentators put over how important that win was for Zenk and now Armstrong may need to go back to the drawing board because after having been on a winning streak for several weeks with his new attitude, things seem to be stalling the last week out here with a loss last Monday to Dustin Rhodes as well.
-- Third commercial break --
Tony Schiavone: Welcome back. WCW Monday Nitro continues here, and still to come tonight, Cactus Jack against Yoshi Kwan, Shane Douglas to challenge Lord Steven Regal for the TV Title, and in just a minute, 8 tag teams in a big elimination match in our main event here for hour #1. But later on tonight Legend, 4 on 4 elimination match, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Johnny B. Badd, and Dustin Rhodes against Rick Rude, Barry Windham, Dallas Page, and Max Muscle. A big preview of Thursday's Clash of Champions right there.
Larry Zbyszko: You know, I wonder out here. If you can isolate say Flair and get him down to a 4 on 1, that could be all she wrote for him. He's got his career on the line on Thursday, and he could be jeopardizing everything later tonight. If I'm Barry Windham, that's all I'm thinking of. Wear Flair down, and don't let up.
Tony Schiavone: Which could be his plan, but if anybody in that match has the stamina to go as long as it takes, it's Ric Flair. But speaking of that match ...
... right now we want to bring in Johnny B. Badd. We now know that it will be you in the finals of the King of Cable on Thursday, World title shot next Monday on Nitro, but tonight, you are in that big elimination match.
Johnny B. Badd: And I plan on doing a whole lot of eliminating in there! But see, what I'm out here to talk about right now is last week. I'm sure everybody saw the match, me and The Hot Rod, the WCW dream team together again. Or so I thought. I had that match won, but Piper couldn't help but get himself into trouble on the outside. Now I didn't want it to come to this, but next week on Nitro, I have a shot at that World title. If Roddy wins it on Thursday, that means it's the 2 of us a week from tonight. And I got Dustin again in the King of Cable on Thursday, not that I'm too worried given I beat him at the Halloween Havoc. And now tonight I get here, and I find out that my tag team partners are Ric Flair and you guessed it, Roddy Piper and Dustin Rhodes. But I just hope that this week Piper can hold up his end, because you know I will. I mean, you just know it. And Dustin, I don't want there to be any funny business in there, because I'll be ready for it. I'll tag with you guys, but just remember that I can be a badddddd man in there.
Larry Zbyszko: For somebody that lost last week, you seem pretty confident tonight.
Johnny B. Badd: What are you trying to say Larry?
Larry Zbyszko: Hey, I'm just calling it like I see it. You, you - HEY!
Fans cheer as from behind steps Rowdy Roddy Piper into the camera shot at ringside.
Tony Schiavone: Roddy Piper, here in Jacksonville!
Roddy Piper: Ha, thanks. You know I was uh, I was just in the back there and couldn't help but overhear what was being said out here. And I mean you know I'm busy making press calls, I'm in the new episode of Highlander this week so you know, got a lot of extra work to do right now. Hopefully we have a clip of that later on out here ha, but right now, I wanna know what's going out here. Johnny, where's your head at man? I mean I remember Slamboree, that guy I teamed with. He's not there no more.
Johnny B. Badd: Man, what are you talking about Roddy? I'm still here. In fact, unlike some, I've been here while others are off doing things like episodes of Highlander. I've been here battling Rick Rude in your name. So don't ask me where my head's at.
Roddy Piper: You got a big opportunity at the Clash of Champions, we both do. Think about it. You and Dustin King of Cable, that's gonna be a hell of a match man. These fans-
Johnny B. Badd: These fans? THESE fans?! No offense Roddy, but when I go out here, I do what I do for me. I tried pleasing the fans, but all they do is turn their backs on me.
Roddy Piper: Whoa, whoa, hold on a minute. These are the fans of WCW! These are the people that watch Highlander! When they pay for a ticket, they got the right to do whatever they want, you understand? That's a reality check man. You've gotta understand that, and then, maybe then, you can get back on track out here.
Johnny B. Badd: Hey I'm on track. Next Monday on Nitro, I got a World title shot. Thursday, I got the King of Cable. This time next week, I could be on top of the world. And I did it all myself.
Roddy Piper: Ha, is that right? See, I seem to recall about a month ago out here, somebody gave you a shot. You seem to want every chance, complain when you don't get them, but somebody gave you a chance. And that somebody was Dustin Rhodes. He had a chance at that World title, but he put it on the line for you cause he's a competitor. Are you a competitor Johnny? Are you a real man?
Johnny B. Badd: Man, you know I'm a badd man. The baddest in all of WCW.
Roddy Piper: Then give him the same opportunity. King of Cable, you give him the chance to win back that shot. Be a man! Be the man that I came out of retirement to team with! Be the man that when Ricky Rude laid me out with 2 Rude Awakenings, he fought in my name! Where is that man?! You beat Rhodes at Halloween Havoc, you're a man? Do it again. Put that money where your mouth is. Show these fans that you're a man!
Johnny B. Badd: You know Roddy, you're right. I beat Dustin once, I can do it again. If you believe in me, I'll do it! Let's do it!
The fans cheer that announcement as Piper and Badd are both fired up.
Roddy Piper: That's what I'm talking about! Johnny B. Badd, Dustin Rhodes, that is it man! The future of WCW, right there. Let's find out on Thursday. But tonight, let's go out there and show them 4 chumps what we're made of. Are you ready to do this?
Johnny B. Badd: I'm ready Roddy! I'm ready!
Roddy Piper: Yeah!
Tony Schiavone: Alright, big announcement right there. Right now though it's time to go up to the ring for our hour 1 main event, our first elimination match. 8 tag teams! Here, now, it's Nitro! And it's live.

Tag Team Elimination match
vs
vs
The first of 2 "Thanksgiving style" elimination matches tonight on Nitro, purely coincidental and surely not to try and take buys away from a PPV going head up with the Clash of Champions on Thursday, this featuring a whopping 8 tag teams and 16 wrestlers. On 1 side, WCW Tag Team champions 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Alexander Bagwell, The Road Warriors, The Nasty Boys, and The Cole Twins. On the other, Bobby Eaton and Chris Benoit, Harlem Heat, The Hollywood Blonds, and Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce. A lot of beef in this match, previewing 2 matches specifically that take place Thursday with Scorpio and Bagwell vs Eaton and Benoit, and The Road Warriors vs Harlem Heat. The rules here are simple as when a member of a team is eliminated, both members are eliminated.
The ring looks very crowded as the match gets started. Keith Cole goes in against Brian Pillman with Cole getting the early advantage. Quick tag to Kent Cole, but Pillman manages to escape to his own corner. Steve Austin goes in to test his luck, but an unseen tag has him seeing double when Kent takes a bling tag off the back, then ducks a clothesline. He comes back and leapfrogs over Austin. He turns and takes a double clothesline from the twins. The fans are fired up as Saggs takes a tag. He starts going to work on Austin, tagging out to Hawk. Rare teamwork from The Road Warriors and Nasty Boys, before Hawk takes over. Austin however manages to reverse him into the ropes where Stevie Ray hits him and then takes a tag. He hits Hawk a few times before a tag to Booker T. Stevie sends Hawk to the ropes, ducks down and Hawk goes over into a scissors kick. He covers, but only gets a 2 count. Booker brings him up and tries to send Hawk into the ropes, but he reverses it and charges back with a clothesline. Tag to Bagwell, who comes in and starts trying to get something going, but a distraction from Scotty Flamingo at ringside allows Booker to hit him from behind. Tag out to Benoit and he starts to wear down Bagwell before going for a Dragon Suplex, but only getting a 2. Benoit heads out to the top and comes off with a big swandive headbutt, but Bagwell moves! Both are down as Benoit tags out to Eaton, but Bagwell tags in Scorpio at the same time. 2 Cold comes in and has some for Eaton. He immediately starts to work him over as he looks for revenge from this past weekend on Saturday Night. Scorpio gets a 2 count after a moonsault when Flamingo gets Eaton's foot onto the bottom rope. Scorpio goes and grabs Flamingo as he turns to the fans, but leaves himself open to a knee to a kick to the head by Austin. Eaton schoolboys a dazed Scorpio and the referee counts, making the 3! A huge elimination as the WCW Tag Team champions are out first, courtesy of the team that will challenge them in 3 days time. 1 tag team down, 7 remain. Commercial time as the match continues.

Back from break with Pierce in against Keith Cole. After working him over during the break and a minute after, a tag comes to Slazenger. His partner comes in and briefly continues before hitting him with an inverted DDT. Slazenger covers, picks up the 3 and there is trouble brewing. The match is now 4 tag teams against 2, and The Road Warriors and The Nasty Boys have their work cut out for them. Knobbs comes in for the first time to continue against Slazenger. He gets in some early work, but ends up getting kicked in the back from Pillman. The Blond wants the tag in and starts to go to work against Knobbs, hoping to continue where he left off last week against The Nasty Boys. Austin follows that with a tag and some double teaming while Col. Robert Parker distracts the referee. Austin sets up for the Hollywood and Vine trying to get a submission but Knobbs manages to kick Austin away. He tags out to Stevie Ray, but Knobbs manages to get a tag to Road Warrior Animal at the same time. He comes in and immediately starts cleaning house. Booker comes back in, but there is little he can do as Hawk comes in as well. All 4 wrestlers are going at it as the referee tries to restore order. Animal and Stevie Ray end up on the floor with the referee counting. He is getting up there and the counts hits 10! Both tag teams are counted out, although they will have the chance to finally settle things in just 3 days once and for all at the Clash. But with that comes big trouble for The Nasty Boys ...
... big trouble because this match is now 3 tag teams against 1, 6 on 2. Not to mention 2 managers on the outside to deal with as well. The Nasties consult each other with Saggs starting. Eaton enters, and Saggs holds his own a while, but the numbers game proves too much. There is little that Knobbs can do on the outside as tags come and go with his partner left alone against a rotating door of opponents to keep them fresh. Austin is in and hits the Stun Gun, but Knobbs breaks up the count before the 3. Slazenger and Pierce then take a turn before Saggs is able to duck and collide into a double clothesline. Benoit tags in, but Knobbs gets the hot tag across the way. He comes in and despite Benoit's best efforts, cleans house against him. Flamingo gets up to the apron, but ends up taking a hard elbow to get sent back down. Parker holds his men back from interfering, smart according to Zbyszko as "The Texicans" enter for a brief exchange with The Nasties, enough to get Knobbs slowed down. Benoit has him and goes for The Dragon Suplex, but Knobbs is just too big. Instead he reverses and runs Benoit into the corner. He turns him, scoops him up and goes to tag in Saggs. Knobbs delivers the powerslam and Saggs comes off the top rope with an elbow. The cover is made and The Nasty Boys have eliminated Eaton and Benoit. A big elimination for them, especially if they regain the Tag Titles in 3 nights at the Clash of Champions.
The Nasty Boys are surviving, but still outnumbered at 4 against 2. They try and keep the action going as Slazenger tries to take advantage of Saggs, but he is able to catch him. Knobbs and Pierce end up in, with Parker again holding The Blonds back to preserve them and keep them fresh. Pierce ends up outside with Saggs hitting a back elbow on Slazenger. He covers, but Austin is in to break up the count. Knobbs is outside with Pierce when Parker hits him from behind. Big mistake as Knobbs immediately turns his attention to the manager. He goes after the manager and starts chasing around, but ends running himself into Pierce who hits him with the bullrope out of sight from the referee. Saggs though has control of Slazenger in the ring, but Pillman makes a blind tag. Saggs is unaware as Pillman heads to the top rope and comes off with a missile dropkick. Knobbs is down on the outside, Saggs is down in the ring. Austin tags in and the Blonds lifts him up with a double suplex, first dropping him across the top rope and springboarding him back hard to the mat. Austin covers and they pick up the 3. And to think just 3 weeks ago, The Hollywood Blonds were wrestling each other on Nitro and Shanghai Pierce was just making his debut. A big win for these 2 tag teams, especially The Blonds, as they both "survive" the elimination match and put themselves on notice to the champs. Zbyszko wonders if they will now fight each other, but Schiavone clarifies that is not how it works, although that is not to say they will not cross paths at some point if they both want the titles.
