While 1992-1993 wasn't good in general for professional wrestling, Tod Gordon, owner of Philadelphia's Eastern Championship Wrestling almost didn't survive the downturn in the business. Sure, you could argue the WWF's Vince McMahon has had a tougher time, his much bigger bankroll lessened the burden but for Gordon, each start and closure not only unburdened him of precious cash reserves but also lessened his credability with both fans and wrestlers alike. Add in the Hulk Hogan fiasco and you have a recipe for disaster that make anyone think twice about continuing in the business. Almost. The Philly businessman is a fighter, and like the fans he caters to, unwilling to throw in the towel just yet. With a new business plan and having learned from his past mistakes, opened his doors one more time in October, bringing back holdover champions in Don Muraco and the Super Destroyers for one last appearance (and healthy payday) in order to crown his new champions. Well travelled ring veteran, Omar Atlas, in a grueling and hard hitting contest took the belt from Muraco while New England-based tag team, The Dreamers bested the Super Destroyers. The good looking GQ and brother Tommy were anything but well recieved by the Philly faithful who backed the masked duo throughout, no matter what they did. Hopefully, this time around, with a new outlook and a healthy dose of local talent, Tod Gordon and Eastern Championship Wrestling can stay afloat.

Good stuff. Simple, straightforward story to lay the groundwork of what's to come. I like it.
I just got around to seeing the e-mail ya sent my way, man. My bad. But I like the looks of things here. Cool of ya to keep continuity in check & just roll with the flow of the path that's already been paved here.
I'd almost forgotten all about the "Hulk Hogan fiasco" that came before, but it's neat for ya to touch upon that as a pivotal "slight" or blemish on Tod's track record in business dealings & whatnot. Obviously not the smartest investment or best way to spend his money. Could make for a nice inside spin on how ya have him approach the next model moving forward.
