Hiromichi Fuyuki's all over the media now that his contract with NJPW has come to a controversial end. He's sending feelers just about everywhere, trying to get his *NEW* Army over and come in to an established promotion doing an "INVASION" gimmick. Until then,Gaora TV has announced that Hiromichi Fuyuki's new project: Pro Wrestling FREEDOM will debut on the network LIVE (tape delay) December the 1st from Korakuen Hall. The big gimmick will be, well that the card is COMPLETELY unknown. We're told that Fuyuki is working with various indy groups for the event, and going forward. If the show is a success it will be run monthly, as Fuyuki and his NEW FUYUKI-GUN will be working indies all over until they find a home. Who is this new Fuyuki-gun? The gimmick is pretty simple, it's workers that feel SLIGHTED by NJPW. In fact all we know about the card is that it'll feature his new Fuyuki-gun in various matches against "outsiders".
He says his goal with FREEDOM is to have fun, and plans on bringing WWF style entertainment to Japan each month.
"Macho Body" Hiromichi Fuyuki
This is his baby after all. Fuyuki was the assistant booker of NJPW up until last month, but was axed from his position after trying to put the IWGP title on HIMSELF one too many times. He finished out his contract on November the 6th, and is now a free agent. Things did NOT end well, although Fuyuki did get some praise for doing the right thing on the way out and putting over Masahiro Chono strong.
** Future picture, Gedo is currently FAT**
Gedo & Jado
Released from NJPW at the start of this year after a VERY brief run in Black New Japan. Fuyuki spent much of his time pushing for them to return, but was veto'd time and time again. Now this duo is reunited with their buddy Hiromichi Fuyuki once and for all. Right now the duo mainly works W*ING, as main eventers no less, but the promotions seems to be on it's last legs ever since Mr. Pogo left in June & Mitsuhiro Matsunaga left this past August. Still the idea is being floated around of Fuyuki joining his former buddies in W*ING (we've also heard AJPW rumblings but that could just be Fuyuki himself working the media).
Hisakatsu Oya
Hisakatsu Oya was brought in to NJPW at Fuyuki's request earlier this year as a member of "Raging Staff", he didn't last long and was released when the group dissoloved. Oya was trained by the NJPW dojo and really thought he had found a home once he returned. Oya's been working Kendo Nagasaki's Network Of Wrestling (NOW) as of late but is rumored to be making his W*ING debut soon, as signs of Fuyuki coming to "save" W*ING are being tossed out there.
Hido
The rookie Hido Takayama has become the adopted little brother of Jado & Gedo in W*ING. He's the only one in Fuyuki's Army that doesn't have an axe to grind with NJPW and is simply getting the gig based on his real life friendship with Gedo & Jado. Heck, he's even gone as far as shedding his last name and going by simply "Hido" to complement his teaming with Gedo & Jado perfectly.
As for the card itself, Fuyuki's been blabbing to the press about having working relationships with AJPW (who haven't returned any phone calls on the subject but all odds are it's bullshit), W*ING (well yeah, he's using Gedo & Jado), FMW (interesting, makes sense given their recent issues with NJPW but at the same time FMW & W*ING have been at each others throats all year), Yoshiaki Yatsu's Social Pro Wrestling Federation (it's such a small indy that uses workers from other indies so, sure!), the WWF (no freaking way), ECW (could be?), WAR (Okay, makes sense BUT given their relationship with New Japan I just don't see it), Shiro Koshinaka's Heisei Ishingun (Who left NJPW in '92 to do something similar to this, just didn't catch on) Triple A (Again the NJPW relationship makes this seem like BS), UWA (could be, I mean it's barely a thing any more) and the AWA which isn't even a thing anymore. .
This is what's known about the show match wise:
X&X Vs.X&X*
Inter-promotional Match: X Vs. X (aren't they all?)
Hido Vs. Luchador X**
Street Fight: Gedo & Jado Vs. X & X
Baseball Bat Scramble Tag Title Title Match: Champions: X&X Vs. X&X ***
Title Match: Champion: Vs. Hisakatsu Oya ****
Main Event: Hirmochi Fuyuki & X Vs. X & X *****
* The opening match will feature a team of two female wrestlers Vs. a team of two male wrestlers as Fuyuki claims he's "breaking new ground" by mixing men with women.
** Hido's oppenent will be from a Mexican Promotion, which is the big mystery.
*** Some sort of tag title from some promotion will be defended in a barbed wire baseball bat scramble match. Fuyuki isn't telling which, but given the nature of the bout one has to assume it's from a garbage fed.
**** Oya will challenge for some promotions title, with Fuyuki HINTING strongly that it's AJPW's Triple Crown (currently held by Mitsuharu Misawa) but I just can't see it happening. It'll be a title match that's for sure.
***** Fuyuki WANTS everyone to think his partner is Toshiaki Kawada of AJPW as he's hinting at a Footloose reunion. Can't see it happening at all. Who knows.
Bottom line, my money is on Atsushi Onita's FMW guys filling out much of the X's as I've heard Onita REALLY wants to bring Fuyuki and his army in as a way to say "STICK IT" to NJPW after Choshu's recent comments. OR W*ING guys and it'll be a huge let down.
