Taped at the Bronco Field House in Edmond, Oklahoma
Stills pop on the screen showing a flip-book shot of Michael Hayes landing a big “right hand” on the mush of Gary Albright. A slow motion replay follows of “Dr. Death” Steve Williams clotheslining Big Van Vader with his cast, only for Vader to land on his feet.
UWF President Cowboy Bill Watts opens the show standing in the ring with Dr. Death Steve Williams. Doc's right arm is encased in a harder cast. Watts relays that according to the doctors, the hardest cast on Doc's arm will prevent it the fractures from further damage and he will be able to return to active competition next week. Doc says that for the past month he's watched as Big Van Vader has destroyed the UWF locker room and his friends. For the past month he's tried to get Vader in the ring. He has not and will not forget about Vader but Vader will have to wait. Now Dr. Death has his sights on Gary Albright, the man HE knows attacked him in the parking lot and tried to injure his arm. Doc says he's been attacked numerous times over the years but no one has come close to almost ending his career like Albright. The doctors wanted him to get surgery to repair the arm and sit out for the next six months but Doc refused. Doc says he can live without his arm but he damn sure can't sit out for six months and look himself in the mirror, knowing that Gary Albright hasn't paid for what he did.
Bill Watts announces that due to the success of last weeks big New Orleans show, the UWF is running another big show in two weeks titled the "Oklahoma City Collision." That event will take placeon July 1st from the Myriad Convention Center and will feature as one of its co-main events...Gary Albright vs. Steve Williams!
Not even a minute after Bills announcement does Jim Cornette arrive on the scene. Cornette complains that last week was supposed to be the biggest moment of his career but that cheat Michael Hayes and this bully Steve Williams ruined it. He tells Doc that he had no business being out there at all. BUT Cornette is going to look past that because by the time the Collision is over and done with, all of Camp Cornette's loose ends will be tied up. Today on TV, Gary Albright is going to rip off the arm of that cheating Hayes for embarrassing him. And if Albright doesn't finish him off, Cornette will do it himself. Cornette mentions that the Collision will be the last time he retains the services of Albright because he's traded the services of Albright to another manager for a special favor. Cornette tells Watts and Doc that they are both so lucky that Vader is in Japan today crushing the completion because after last week, he is in a foul mood.
Bill Watts takes this time to ruin Cornette's egotistical glee by announcing that the second of three co-main events will see the Steiner Brothers defend their NWA World Tag Team Titles for the first time against..the Fabulous Freebirds!
Jim Cornette loses it. The mic falls from his hand, his face gets all red and he starts screaming, almost throwing a tantrum. Fortunately the show goes to commercial break.
Commercial Break - Local advertisements air for this Thursday at the Tulsa Coliseum in Tulsa where "Prime Time" Brian Lee with the help of Jim Duggan, is going whip Dutch Mantell and "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony like the cowardly dogs they are.
As Al Snow makes his way to the ring, Jim Ross runs down the action for today's show:
"Nature Boy" Buddy Landel will put Al Snow to the test!
After their impressive debut last week, Jim Cornette's Heavenly Bodies make their Television debut!
Last week in New Orleans, Michael Hayes pinned Gary Albright under what Jim Cornette calls dubious measures. Embarrassed, Gary Albright looks to settle the score in today's television main event against Michael Hayes!
Plus "Prime Time" Brian Lee will be in action and Jim Ross has a sit down interview with Jim Duggan!
Jim Ross again mentions that the Sheepherders were supposed to be on TV, but they still have been deemed too “violent for TV.”
10 Minute Time Limit: Al Snow vs. "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel - The match never takes place as Bob Armstrong comes out to confront Landel, with Brad trying to restrain him. Buddy immediately jumps behind Mr. Hughes while hurling insults at the Armstrongs. From behind Hughes, Landel spits in the face of Bullet Bob causing a huge brawl to erupt!
Brad occupies Hughes as Bob winds up and sends Landel sailing with a big right hand! Finally Watts and security are there to break it up!
Bob is fired up about being cheated and his son being screwed last week. Buddy wants the Armstrongs fined and suspended for putting their hands on his manager. Bill Watts interjects by saying that while he cannot change Hughes status as a manager, the moment last week that Hughes got involved in the action and tried to put his hands on Bob Armstrong, he became a wrestler too! Buddy's jaw drops to the floor as he puts two and two together! Since Hughes is a wrestler now, nothing can be levied against the Armstrongs!
Watts apologizes to the Armstrongs saying that the referee is the soul authority during the course of a match. There isn't anything he can do about last week. However at the "Oklahoma City Collision" in two weeks, Bob and Brad Armstrong can get a measure of revenge as they take on Buddy Landel and the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Champion Jushin Liger!
Commercial Break - Local advertisements air for this Thursday at the Tulsa Coliseum in Tulsa where somehow, someway Bob Armstrong is going to wring the neck of that snake Buddy Landel!
Back from the break "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel is complaining that Bob Armstrong hurt his neck! He's already taking advantage of Watts's ruling by allowing Mr. Hughes to substitute for him.
10 Minute Time Limit: Al Snow vs. Mr. Hughes - Snow comically extends his right hand to Hughes claiming good sportsmanship while holding his left arm behind his back with his fingers crossed.
BAM! Right hand floors Snow as big Hughes just puts a beating on him. A swinging side slam puts Snow away at 2:42.
After the match Landel's neck seems perfectly fine as he jumps up and down to celebrate Hughes's victory.
Commercial Break - Next week on "Power Pro Wrestling" Big Van Vader returns to fight the Junkyard Dog in the TV main event!
Jim Ross hypes up the Vader vs. JYD match as he joined by "Prime Time" Brian Lee and the Junkyard Dog. Lee peels the tape off his back to show the sickening scars and marks left from the attack by "Dirty" Dutch Mantell and "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony.
Lee says that for the rest of his life he is going to have something to remember last week by. Mantell and Anthony held him down and whipped him like a dog. This past month has just been about Lee getting his foot in the door of UWF. Now Mantell has made it personal. Too personal. He calls this a rivalry about respect. Mantell feels like he's losing it, feels like he's slipping so he's going to whatever lengths he can to keep it. Lee is done playing games. Anytime he gets in the same ring as Mantell he's coming to hurt him. Badly. And as for Tony Anthony, well JYD has stepped up to watch Lee's back.
JYD says he is never going to just sit back and watch someone get whipped like a common dog. He sees a lot of potential in Lee and is going to do whatever it takes to help him. Next week JYD gets another shot at Big Van Vader right here on TV. Vader couldn't finish him before and now JYD will have the strength of everyone watching around the Mid South. JYD says he fights for the people and he will not let Vader continue his path of destruction.
As Brian Lee heads to the ring, Ross mentions that due to the attack last week both Mantell and Anthony have been suspended off TV for the next two weeks.
Bill Watts joins Ross with some breaking news. In two weeks at “Oklahoma City Collision”, “Prime Time” Brian will again face Dutch Mantell BUT this time Tony Anthony will be at ringside...chained to the Junkyard Dog! Crowd cheers. And that's not at all, the loser will receive TEN lashes from Dutch Mantell's bullwhip that next week on “Power Pro Wrestling!”
Commercial Break – In two weeks the UWF presents “Oklahoma City Collision” live from the Myriad Convention Center in Oklahoma City. Tickets are available NOW! You don't wanna miss the Steiner Brothers defending the NWA World Tag Team Titles for the FIRST time in the UWF against the UWF's own Fabulous Freebirds!
10 Minute Time Limit: “Prime Time” Brian Lee vs. The Masked Assassin – The Assassin did not know what he was dealing with. Ross and Watts both noted they have not seen fire in Brian Lee like this since he's arrived.
The Assassin scores a lucky drop kick to the hurt back of Lee but he can do nothing to follow up on it. Lee turns the Assassin inside out with a huge running boot. He picks him – BAM! TORTURE RACK BACKBREAKER! THAT'S ALL SHE WROTE! Lee covers for the win at 5:14.
The camera man zooms in on Lee's face as he tells “Dirty” Dutch that there ain't gonna be a damn thing stopping him this time from beating him and he's going to use those ten lashes to make sure Dutch never forgets “Prime Time” Brian Lee.
A pre-taped video airs of Jim Ross and a sullen Jim Duggan sitting down back in the locker room. Ross asks him the question that everyone has been dying to know: “What has happened to Jim Duggan?” For weeks and weeks now Duggan has been asking himself the same question. And every time he comes back to the same answer – Big Van Vader. Duggan calls himself one of the toughest son of a bitches alive but Vader took something from him when he crushed him a month ago. He hasn't been the same since. Duggan went in there and had some wars with Doc and with Butch Reed and came close to winning but something was missing.
Jim Ross asks him what that means. Duggan looks Ross straight in the eyes and tells him that he's never seen a man or a beast like Vader before. Ross, Watts, and these people have watched Duggan for years and years and have never seen him get crushed like that before. Duggan says that he thinks Vader took a piece of his soul in that match...and he knows the only way he can get that back. He went to Bill Watts and told him and Bill didn't want to hear it. But Jim says he didn't back down. He told Bill to cut the employer-employee bullshit – he was coming to Watts as a friend and as a man. Jim Duggan clutches his fists together as he recounts that he NEEDS this. And Watts begrudgingly said yes.
Ross asks Duggan what exactly he asked Bill Watts. Duggan says he asked for one more match. Against Big Van Vader...in two weeks at “Oklahoma City Collision.” But he didn't ask for a wrestling match, no. He wants a fight. He wants a war. He's coming to reclaim his soul. That's why instead of a wrestling match, it's going to be...an Oklahoma City Street Fight.
Jim Ross is floored. He asks Duggan if he really wants to do this. “No Jim...I NEED to do this.”
Commercial Break – Local advertisements air for this Thursday at the Tulsa Coliseum in Tulsa where the Heavenly Bodies are coming to prove they are the BEST tag team in professional wrestling...and make the ladies dreams come true.
Back from the break Jim Ross candidly talks about the sit down interview and what emotion he was feeling from Jim Duggan. Watts says that he did not want to make that match but Jim Duggan came to him like a man and he wasn't going to turn him down. Watts fears for Duggan's safety though.
The arena goes dark and two spot lights so the arrival of the black silk robe with golden trim laden Heavenly Bodies. Jimmy Del Ray and Tom Pritchard make their way down to ringside, repulsing women as they go, with Jim Cornette following close behind.
15 Minute Time Limit: The Heavenly Bodies (Jimmy Del Ray and Tom Pritchard) vs. Barry Horowitz and Rex King – Textbook tag team wrestling from the Bodies. Cornette acts as a cheerleader on the outside as the Bodies completely dismantle Horowitz and King. Del Ray drops Horowitz with an inverted atomic drop which Pritchard follows up with a huge leaping hooking clothesline.
They let Barry tag in Rex King and make it known they are just showing off. King shows potential and fight but damn are the Bodies just TOO good. Del Ray hip tosses him over the knee of Pritchard which sets up the assisted second rope power slam from Pritchard and the pin at 7:10.
The arena again goes dark with just three spot lights shining in the ring. A disgruntled Jim Cornette gets on the microphone and asks Bill Watts if that was impressive enough for him. Instead of these two were are tag team experts and the absolute BEST at what they do, those two no good CROOKS the Freebirds are getting the coveted NWA Word Tag Team Title shot. On commentary Bill Watts admits the Bodies look very impressive BUT they are untested in the UWF. The Freebirds, however, have the best tag team record in the UWF AND they were the winners of the main event of the biggest UWF show to date.
Cornette mockingly says that he's sure that Bill Watts is coming up with some great reason why the Birds deserve it more. Cornette demands that Watts put the Birds in with the Bodies. That will prove who the best team is. Hell, you can put the Bodies in with ANY tag team because the Heavenly Bodies are the GREATEST tag team he's ever managed and the GREATEST tag team in the sport of professional wrestling.
Suddenly a voice out in the darkness interrupts Cornette to say that the Heavenly Bodies sure as hell haven't beaten them. The lights come back on to reveal...
”BEAUTIFUL” BOBBY EATON AND “SWEET” STAN LANE...THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS! OH MY GOD!
All of the blood drains from Cornette's face as if he's seen a ghost. Stan Lane says the best thing the Midnight Express have ever done is dump Cornette. Cornette took advantage of them, stole money from them, and used their name for personal gain while all he and Bobby wanted to do was prove they were the best in the ring every night. Lane says he's heard Cornette for weeks talk about this new team that is BETTER then the Midnight Express...well it's time to PROVE it.
“We'll see you around Corny..” With that Lane drops the mic and he and Eaton take their leave. Cornette looks like he's going to faint and even the Bodies look a little bit scared. Excitedly Watts mentions that he's already signed these two teams to wrestle this Thursday at the Tulsa Coliseum.
Commercial Break – Local advertisements air for this Thursday at the Tulsa Coliseum in Tulsa where the Fabulous Freebirds are strutting into Tulsa to again put a beating on Big Van Vader and Gary Albright in a re-match from last week in New Orleans!
Michael Hayes struts out to join Bill Watts for a pre-match interview. Hayes says that he did exactly what he promised he would do. He didn't back down from Big Van Vader, he took him on full force and LIVED to talk about it. He clutches his ribs and says that yeah Vader crushed him and bruised a couple of his ribs but nothing will take away from his hand being raised. Last week he proved to himself once and for all that he is not the weak link. He took on Vader and Albright by himself without hiding behind Terry Gordy and came out the other side as the winner. “WOOOO!”
The crowd cheers and Hayes struts around again. Hayes says he's on cloud nine. He ain't afraid of Albright today. He ain't afraid of fighting Vader again. He sure as hell ain't afraid of Jim Cornette. He tells Cornette to bring his worst. Because in two weeks, two short little weeks, he and Bam Bam get a chance to be on top of the mountain again. Bring on the Bodies, bring on the Midnights, bring on the Steiners – THE FABULOUS FREEBIRDS ARE FEELING GOOD AND WILL TAKE ON ANYONE! Hayes is all over the place today and the crowd is loving it.
20 Minute Time Limit – Television Main Event: Gary Albright vs. Michael Hayes - “Dr. Death” Steve Williams joins the announce booth to reiterate that in two weeks he's going to rip off Gary Albright's arm and beat him unconscious with it. Neither Gordy nor Cornette are at ringside.
Albright is like a caged beast and when the bell rings he charges and immediately takes down Hayes. Hayes is a fighter but Albright is such a fantastic amateur wrestler and he is able to easily stretch Hayes. Hayes makes it to the ropes and Albright breaks at five, but not before rubbing Hayes face against the mat.
While Hayes fights for his life, Albright begins working over his arm. He traps Hayes's arm and uses it to choke Hayes with it! The eyes are almost bulging out of his head as referee Nick Patrick is reading Albright the riot act. With Albright's attention diverted, Hayes wraps his arms around Albright's and drops down INTO A JAWBREAKER! THAT LOOK LIKE IT HURT!
KNEE LIFT! Albright is reeling – HUUUGE BULL DOG! The wrestling machine Gary Albright is down and hurt! Hayes looks like he expended his second wind there as he crawls over for the cover – one, two, NO! Albright kicks out. Jim Ross says that unfortunately they have to take their last commercial break of the show!
Back from the commercial – ALBRIGHT DROPS HAYES WITH A HAMMERLOCK BACK SUPLEX! Jim Ross is too caught up in what's going on to explain what happened during the break. Albright transitions now to the CROWBAR ARMBAR! MICHAEL HAYES LOOKS TO BE IN AGONY! He's trying to clasp his hands but Albright has too much of a grip!
Hayes is fighting and fighting his way to the ropes but god damn is Albright wrenching on that arm. He looks like he's about to submit but with his last ounce of strength his fingertip HITS THE ROPE! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! Nick Patrick is ordering Albright to break the hold but Albright tells him to screw off! Michael Hayes is screaming in pain.
Nick Patrick calls for the bell but Gary Albright STILL WON'T LET GO! Fans, Michael Hayes has this bout by disqualification at 10:13 but he doesn't look much like a winner right now!
HOLD ON – STEVE WILLIAMS HAS LEFT THE ANNOUNCE POSITION AND IS RUNNING DOWN TO RINGSIDE. HE SLIDES INTO THE RING...AND KICKS ALBRIGHT SQUARE IN THE JAW!
He tells Gary Albright to get up and FIGHT him. Albright spits out some blood and charges Doc. They jockey for position and Steve Williams goes behind him – RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX! OH MY GOD! WAIT – GARY ALBRIGHT STANDS RIGHT BACK UP!
They charge and again jockey for position...GARY ALBRIGHT HITS HIM WITH AN OVERHEAD BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX. OH MY GOD! WAIT, STEVE WILLIAMS STANDS RIGHT BACK UP!
These two ANGRY bulls charge each other again and this time Gary double legs Doc down to the mat. These two roll around firing these stiff horrific punches at each other until THEY ROLL RIGHT OUT OF THE RING!
Here's security to break things up after they've already gone too far! Jim Ross signs off for the broadcast saying you can see these two men beat the hell out of each other more in TWO weeks at the Myriad Convention Center!
