First match of the evening finds Akam Singh, brother of Gama Singh, carrying a flag of his home, India taking on Mike Winner. A clash of styles with Winner wanting to wrestle and Singh, the brawler. At the start, Winner continously thwarts and frustrates Singh that brings the fans into the torment. Bending the rules at every opportunity, Singh changes his fortunes in this one after the action spills to the outside and Winner is busted open when run into the ringpost. Like a shark circling blood in the water, Singh gleefully tears at the wound, making it worse. Singh takes the match with a boot to the head after stomping it on the mat several times. Singh with the cover gets the win.
The action doesn't stop there as Singh brings his flag into the ring and first hits Winner before choking him with it. When Singh refuses to heed referee Matt Farmer's instructions, we get a reversal of the match with Mike Winner picking up the victory by disqualification. Like a man in a trance, Singh has to be led away from the ring by Matt Farmer and Sandy Barr while Winner gets help to the back from Billy Two Eagles, Oly Olsen and the Pope Brothers.
Portland Wrestling fixture Al Madril comes out and addresses the fans about tonight's title match against Billy Two Eagles and after beating him within an inch of his life will prove to everyone once and for all the very thing he's been saying for years ... that Al Madril is the BEST Champion this area has every had.
Tag team action pits Jim and Karl Pope against the masked Iron Cross and "Riot" Richie Magnett. Good match from both teams getting near pinfalls as they go back and forth. Double drop kicks from the Popes sends Magnett into Iron Cross which puts the heels into an argument that escalates into a shoving match. Taking exception to Magnett hitting him from behind, Iron Cross with a forearm to Magnett's chops that knocks him right into another double drop kick. A disgusted Iron Cross leaves for the back as Magnett gets pinned following a double suplex. The Popes celebrate with the fans.
A couple of the smaller guys are up next with Oly Olson and Buddy Wayne facing one another. Wayne known to these fans is booed to high heaven while the Canadian Olson is cheered. Slow start to things as Wayne wants to shake hands and is insistant. The fans tell Olson not to fall for it but we finally get it and it turns out to just be a handshake. Lots of mat work between the two and none of the anticipated short cut taking from Wayne who offers his hand several times. Lots of reversals and countermoves from each in an exciting match with many near pinfalls that has the fans on the edge of their seats. Evenly matched throughout and still no cheating from Wayne. The two go into a criss-crossing sequence ... and the bell rings for a time limit draw.
Wayne offers his hand once again before raising Olson's hand in the air. A smiling Wayne shakes hands with the referee before going off. Less boos this time around as he stops to sign a few autographs.
A little intermission time before our main event.
Sandy Barr carries out the title belt up for grabs, showing it off to both participants, Al Madril and Billy Two Eagles. Madril with some lip service for both Two Eagles and Barr before there is a slap to his opponent's face which starts the match off. Madril immediately retreats for the safety of the ropes to fend off a retaliation from Two Eagles. Two Eagles breaks out the dancing and tomahawk chops while Madril oversells as well as using his wrist tape to choke Billy. A "blind" Barr misses much of Madril's antics but then again Madril has years behind him of perfecting his craft of breaking the rules. Two Eagles takes a bit of a beating but finally comes on, turning the tables to the delight of the fans who cheer him on. Ducking under a clothesline, Billy hits the ropes before coming off and catching Madril with a crossbody block. He hooks the leg and Barr slaps out the three count ...Billy Two Eagles is the NEW Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Champion!
Al Madril complains about a fast count as well as his hair and tights being pulled but Sandy Barr isn't listening. A little back and forth between them before Billy Two Eagles steps in and a disgusted Madril leaves.
After the new champion leaves the ring, Sandy Barr thanks the fans for their support of professional wrestling in the Pacific Northwest as well as Championship Wrestling USA. A positive response is sure to brng more shows to the area.
Out of the crowd comes 6'3' and 300 plus pounds of Sumito, the Polynesian Prince. Sliding into the ring, he steps up to Barr and galres down at him with his hands on his hips. With a shrug, Barr hands the microphone over to Sumito who takes it and looks at it before throwing it down on the mat. With a quick scoop, he sweeps Sandy Barr off his feet into the air, adjusts the weight and drives him down into the mat. There is a collective gasp as Sumito bounces back to his feet, looking down on the laid out Barr ...
... and here comes the cavalry!
Wait a second ...
It's BUDDY WAYNE?!?!?!
Diving into the ring, Wayne comes up swinging a chair without hesitation, smashing it over the head of the much larger Sumito. A second and third shot follow, driving the big man from the ring. With Billy Two Eagles, the Popes and Oly Olson hitting the ring, Sumito leaves and the unmoving Barr is carted out of the ring.
