Main Event Wrestling
Choctaw Casino Bingo
Durant, Oklahoma
October 11, 1993
Referee: Tom Simon
Looks awfully familiar as The Main Event rolls into Durant, Oklahoma, i heading east. Announcers Bill Ash and Lolly Dude welcome the fans to an evening of wrestling at the beautiful Choctaw Casino Bingo. Promises from the pair that this is just the first of many HEW shows coming to the area. They are then interrupted by ...
Damien Strange
Strange shoos the hosts from the ring before asking one very important question ... "DO YOU WANT TO JOIN THE HOUSE OF STRANGE?" before turning on wrestler Shane Cortez, waiting patiently in his corner. Strange turns and level as finger at Cortez and asks him the same question but before Cortez can give an answer, Strange tells him he must beat the newest member of the House of Strange first ...
IT IS HORACE THE PSYCOPATH!
The scary Horace doesn't wait on the bell before jumping all over Cortez. A pummelling around the ring much to the delight of Damien Strange who jumps up and down with each blow that lands. Ragdolled around the ring but not pinned, Cortez suprises everyone in the building with a rollup that nets a near pinfall. Had the referee not been surprised, it may very well have been a three count! No more following around, Horace presses Cortez into the air before tossing him across the ring. A running powerslam follows and this one is in the books.
A stompfest afterwards but Strange is warned by the referee to get his man to stop or else. Strange whispers something in the Psychopath's ear and that stops him dead in his tracks. Now docile, with a big grin on his face, Horace follows Strange from the ring to the back without so much as a single word towards the jeering fans.
Next, it is Ravishing Ray Evans of Texas dressed in the colors of the state (red, white and blue) with a big Lone Star right over his privates. The pudgy Evans pulls off a Rick Rude routine with the gyrating hips and pelvic thrust is the "Double Whammy" of a heel, ripping on the fans AND being from Texas as we are in Oklahoma, afterall. HIs opponent for the evening, heading to the ring to the tune of Tom Jones' "It's Not Unusual", none other than Oklahoma Legend, Tom Jones i. Despite being in his mid-40s, Jones can still go in the ring and Evans is a good hand to be in with. Spotlight match for Jones with Evans getting in his shots, putting Jones in peril but in the end, one diving headbutt and Jones picks up the victory.
The Head Groupie
The lovely Groupie, Tammy comes out to the ring before tag team action with the long haired Bon Jovi Boys, Don and Dean, taking on the Native American team of Billy Ray and Running Wolf. Tammy has a challenge for the opponents from Don Bon Jovi but she figures they'd be too scared to even try, so she won't ask. Of course this gets the fans involved who want to know what the challenge is ... An Air Guitar-Off! Ray and Running Wolf shrug their shoulders and accept, sending the fans into a frenzy. Here come the Bon Jovi Boys and we are off to settle the challenge. The Bon Jovis do their rendition followed by Ray and Wolf who do a surprisingly good job themselves. Tammy teases the fans being used as judges but thinks they are too stupid to do the job, so she'll pick the winner herself ... who else? The Bon Jovi Boys. Not a lot of happy customers but they are here to see wrestling ... and wrestling they shall have!
Dean Bon Jovi does much of the work as brother Don keeps him in the ring for a variety of reasons. Don really shines with his high flying and innovative offensive. Neither team is the biggest of guys but they go at it as if they don't like each other with the match getting stiff at several instances. Back and forth, wash, rinse, repeat but highly entertaining tag action. JUst like the previous night, Tammy turns out to be the difference with the same finish as before.
Some bad feelings afterwards and the two teams have to be seperated
We have an intermission with Bill Ash and Lolly Dude thanking everyone for coming and their support of both Main Event Wrestling and Choctaw Casino Bingo. Continued support is highly appreciated!
Our main event is the same as the Lawton show with Treach Phillips Jr. and Odell Buckingham going one on one. Bill Ash i is the referee. A handshake between the two combatants starts the match off that is friendly and competative with no punches being thrown as the pair grapple around the ring, leaving Ash as the referee with very little to do as the two wrestlers follow the rules. Identical match with several near falls but some 10 minutes in, Buckingham starts to slow down while Phillips kicks the pace up a notch. The fresher Phillips takes the advantage just before they are joined by a short man carrying a stepstool out to the ring to observe.
i
The short guy yells words of encouragement for Phillips while pacing on the outside, going so far as to getting the fans involved in chanting the wrestler's name. The match comes to a stop with Phillips shrugging his shoulders, not knowing what is going on with his "fan". With the match restarted, Buckingham catches Phillips coming off the ropes with a big hip toss but the nimble Treach lands on his feet. Swinging his leg back, he catches the charging Buckingham with a kick to the chops. Elbow drop off the top rope and Ash drops to the mat to slap out a 3 count JUST before Odell Buckingham kicks out.
Your winner ...
Treach Phillips Jr.
Buckingham tries to plead his case to Ash who lets him know that it was a 3 count and Treach Phillips Jr. is the victor. Ash seems a little peaved and is quick to have the two men shake hands. The disappointed Buckingham leaves the ring while the short man is in the ring congratulating the winner.
The show ends with several of the wrestlers coming out and meeting the fans.

- If you follow my writing elsewhere, you've seen this location used by the Confederate Wrestling Alliance for their one show "Invasion" of Oklahoma.
- Tom Jones, a long time veteran of the sport, is a bit of a pioneer as the first African-American to wrestle in the States of Oklahoma, Arkansas and down through Mississippi. He is also the first black wrestler to face a white man in the ring in theState of Louisiana.
- Bill Ash, another long time veteran of the squared circle, has a long list students trained in the sport other than Treach Phillips Jr. and Odell Buckingham. Don't believe me? Check out Ash's International Pro Wrestling on Youtube. If you haven't seen these before, you'll be glad you checked them out!
