Tony Schiavone: From the Independent City, home of Major League Baseball's Baltimore Orioles, and tonight home to WCW, this is Monday Nitro on TNT! The only 2 hour live pro wrestling show, and tonight all ears are open as we await word from the 1 and only Hulk Hogan! Hello wrestling fans, I'm Tony Schiavone and with me right now is The Living Legend Larry Zbyszko here at ringside, ready to bring you hour #1 of this, the hottest wrestling show in the country. Later on Legend, we heard from the middle man last week, we will hear from Hulk Hogan tonight.

Larry Zbyszko: And everybody wants to know just what it is that Hulk Hogan is going to say. Not since the Sword of Damocles has somebody maneuvered their way into such a position of power, but not even just Hulk Hogan, but his supposed brother too. This man last week used Hogan's name to get himself a taste of the good life, but it's like J.J. Dillon said, he'd had better deliver tonight or there could be trouble with a capital t in his future.

Tony Schiavone: Also on the program tonight, our main event sees Sting battling Lord Steven Regal, plus a couple big tag team matches. First, The Road Warriors reunite as they look for revenge against The Harlem Heat, but also the WCW Tag Team titles to be decided when Ric Flair and Arn Anderson defend against Bobby Eaton and Chris Benoit. All that to come. Here tonight in hour #1 though, it's going to be The Studd looking for revenge when he steps into the ring with Diamond Dallas Page.

Larry Zbyszko: And while he may no longer be a diamond, The Studd can shine brighter tonight than he ever has before. This is his opportunity to silence the critics and step out from the shadow of his guru if you wanna call him that, Diamond Dallas Page. He was hung out to dry, but tonight, he has the chance to be the 1 to do the hanging.

Tony Schiavone: Plus in our opener mere moments from now, it'll be Cactus Jack and Ron Simmons, but before that, we have a guest out here right now ...

Johnny B. Badd walks into the view to speak with Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko.

Tony Schiavone: Johnny B. Badd joining us, and last week, a shock to many as Rowdy Roddy Piper returned to WCW and at Halloween Havoc, he will do battle with Ravishing Rick Rude.

Johnny B. Badd: You know Tony, you'd think I'd be happy about that but I can't help but be a little bit disappointed. I mean Roddy Piper, yeah he's my friend and he helped me out in a jam against Lord Steven Regal back at Slamboree and everything, but let's face it. That should be me in there at Halloween Havoc, and I should be challenging Rick Rude for that World title. I've been on a roll as of late and you know, I want a piece of Rude just as bad as the next guy.

Larry Zbyszko: If I could interrupt right there, you're preaching to the choir on that with me. I want Rude more than you could imagine in that ring, but it's a game of patience. I personally can't wait to see that match, and I would think you'd be a little more supportive of your friend in this situation.

Johnny B. Badd: Hold on a second there. It's not that I'm not supportive, but let's face it. I'm the 1 going in there day in, day out, and I deserve a chance to beat a champion. Piper's been gone the last 2 months, hasn't wrestled in even longer than that, and now he's going to take on Rude out of nowhere like this? I could get the job done for sure, I know I could! I just need the opportunity and you know, the last 2 months I've-

Tony Schiavone: Hold on, we're being joined right now by J.J. Dillon.

J.J. Dillon: I couldn't help but hear what was being said out here. You raise a lot of good points, and I agree. You do deserve an opportunity. Unfortunately I can't give you Rick Rude at Halloween Havoc, that match is signed. I can't even give you Rick Rude tonight. What I can do though is sign a non title match with yourself and the WCW champion Big Van Vader, for right here in Baltimore. If you agree, it's on tonight.

Tony Schiavone: How 'bout it?

Johnny B. Badd: What do you think Baltimore? You wanna see Big Van Vader and The Baaaaaaaaadd Man tonight?! (the fans cheer) Yeah, I think so too. I accept the challenge and tonight I'm gonna show everybody why Johnny B. Badd is the baddest man in WCW!

Tony Schiavone: Alright, there you have. What a match that'll be tonight as WCW Monday Nitro just keeps getting bigger. Right now, let's get up to David Penzer as he's standing by in the ring and ready to get our opening match underway!

Hot opener here with 2 wrestlers both near the top of the rankings here in WCW. Cactus Jack has a challenge out to Sid Vicious for a Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal match at Halloween Havoc, and while Sid accepted the challenge, his manager Col. Robert Parker put in place by Harley Race to play peacekeeper with him and Big Van Vader and try to make the right decisions so that they can eliminate the competition down to just them, he refused it. For Ron Simmons, this is a chance at a big win that can put him back into title contention as he must be mere steps away from a shot at Vader right now. The match gets going and explodes out to the floor where the referee tries his best to get the combatants back into the ring. Neither of them seem to have much interest in listening to what the referee has to say, but things do eventually get back in there. Cactus has control, and Simmons gets the upper hand after that, which Cactus regains. This is either man's match to win or lose when from the back comes ...

Harlem Heat! The commentators wonder if this is a good idea after what happened last week when they cost Simmons the match against Road Warrior Hawk via a DQ. The Heat take their place cheering Simmons on, and serve to distract Cactus so that Simmons can get at him from behind and down him back to the mat. Simmons turns his attention to the Heat and tells them to leave because he has the match in hand. The Heat ask why, seeming confused by this, but all is quickly forgotten because fans start cheering as from the back comes ...

The Road Warriors! Opponents later tonight for Harlem Heat, they are not about to let them interfere in this contest. Heat circle the ring avoiding them, but end up intimidated back to the dressing room. Simmons gets distracted by all of this and when he turns back to Cactus, he takes a boot to the gut, followed by a double underhook DDT. Cactus covers and he picks up the 3 count to take the match for the win. A big 1 at that for Cactus in his first match on Nitro since before Sid's vicious attack at Slamboree put him on the shelf for 4 months. More problems exhibited between Simmons and the Heat here tonight as again, their presence at ringside costs him some money in regards to the winner's share of the purse. No time for celebration though as the music hits ...

Sid Vicious and Col. Robert Parker! The Colonel is trying to talk Sid back but he insists on walking out to the ring, even shoving his new manager out of the way to show what a great relationship they have built in the last week. Sid steps on the ring when Parker makes a last ditch attempt to stop Sid from fighting Cactus. He grabs his leg, but this only serves as distraction so that Cactus can get at Sid as he was halfway between the ropes. Cactus lays into Sid, who finally gets into the ring, only to be taken right back out by a diving clothesline that takes Cactus himself out over the top rope. Cactus gives a "bang! bang!" with Sid down and goes to the apron to prepare for a diving elbow when Doug Dellinger and security get out there to prevent it. Sid gets up, pissed off at Parker, pissed off at Sid, pissed off at security for not letting him get to Cactus. Things will be sorted out during commercial.

Tony Schiavone: Alright, we are back. What an opener we just saw and Legend, you have to think that Cactus Jack and Sid Vicious are on a collision course for the near future, if not at Halloween Havoc in the Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal match, then somewhere else.

Larry Zbyszko: Hey, we were about 10 feet away from all that, and you could cut the tension with a knife out here. Those 2 do not like each other and it is only a matter of time. Whether Sid accepts the match or not, those 2 could end up going at it in a ring, a back alley, a locker room, pretty much anywhere they lock eyes.

Tony Schiavone: And of course Col. Robert Parker looking to prevent that. Wait a minute now ...

Sid Vicious storms back into view to interrupt with Col. Robert Parker close behind.

Sid Vicious: Let me tell you something Cactus Jack! You want to spin the wheel, Halloween Havoc, you do just that! I accept your challenge and come the 27th of the October, you are going to find out why you don't cross Sid Vicious, and you-

Col. Robert Parker: Hold on now here, I said hold on. This is not a good idea Sid, this match could end everything, you understand boy? It's not a good idea because-

Sid goozles Parker by the throat.

Sid Vicious: What are you saying huh? What are you saying?! I want this match, that's final!

Col. Robert Parker (still goozled by Sid's hand, half choking): Alright.

Sid lets go.

Sid Vicious: Cactus Jack, Halloween Havoc, it's on! You'd better come prepared because the penalty you might pay is 1 of not just your career this time, but the general well being if your entire life! I am going to send you out on a stretcher and this time it will be forever!

Sid storms off with Parker following.

Larry Zbyszko: Surely there must be better ways to make money than managing that guy?

Tony Schiavone: There you have it though, it's official. Cactus Jack, Sid Vicious, Halloween Havoc. More on that later because right now we send it back up to David Penzer, standing by for our next match up.

The Hollywood Blonds look to get back on track here tonight after a couple of losses served up to The Nasty Boys at Fall Brawl and last week on Nitro. They made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night 2 days ago, interfering and costing The Nasty Boys the opportunity to challenge for the Tag Team title tonight, a little payback from the losses. Their opponents are The Cole Twins, perhaps best known for stealing a win from Scotty Flamingo in singles action to Nitro fans by switching places, but they have been cutting their teeth on Saturday Night for several months now, looking for that 1 elusive win to put themselves on the map. Not much to this match with The Coles getting some early offense before The Blonds settle in. While a step above a squash in that there is that threat of surprise, The Blonds routinely go to work on The Coles with little effort. They manage to isolate 1 of them, but the commentators do the clueless act, unable to tell them apart. Austin sets up and hits the Stun Gun, covering, but at the 2 he lifts him up and laughs. They want to punish these guys, take out some frustrations according to Larry Zbyszko. Brian Pillman tags in and continues the borderline mocking offensive attack when from the back emerge their bestest of friends ...

Fans cheer as The Nasty Boys come out, no doubt pissed off over what happened over the weekend. Austin goes to the floor and starts arguing with them as the referee steps out to get between them and order The Nasty Boys to the back. Pillman looks on laughing as The Nasty Boys will not get their revenge tonight, meanwhile behind Pillman's back The Coles change places! Pillman turns as the referee comes back in and goes to pick him up, but gets small packaged ...

WHAT THE?!? The Cole Twins have done it again with a gigantic upset defeating the former WCW Tag Team champions here tonight. Not only that but embarrassing them as they can not believe what has just happened! The Coles get the win of their lives here while The Nasty Boys are literally rolling on the floor laughing at this. Revenge is a dish best served cold according to Zbyszko, and The Nasty Boys just got some of the best revenge he has ever seen. The Blonds lose to the ... Cole Twins?! Tony Schiavone says that the twins have now done it twice in the past 3 weeks and may be a team to take seriously going forward. Or not. Probably not. But it is a big loss for The Blonds as they have to now officially be considered on a losing streak with this 1.

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back, and what an upset we just saw before the break. Keith and Kent Legend, The Cole Twins, defeating The Hollywood Blonds. What about it?

Larry Zbyszko: Not just The Hollywood Blonds, but former WCW Tag Team champions The Hollywood Blonds. The Nasty Boys wanted revenge for what happened 2 nights ago over on the superstation and while I don't think that'll make up for not getting a Tag Team title shot tonight, it's certainly the next best thing.

Tony Schiavone: And you can be sure those 2 teams aren't finished yet, but right now ...

Larry Zbyszko: Oh God. Is this really necessary? Every week with these 2 clowns.

Steven Regal: Yes, I'm overjoyed to see you as well. I'm not here though to waste my time talking about you, but instead about more important matters. Later on tonight, I have a match with the hero of these fans, the man that you so callously refer to as Sting. I'm not sure why he's called that, but if there's 1 thing you can expect not to happen tonight, it's a sting on me. I've hated stings all my life, and finally this is my opportunity to get my hands on 1 in the ring. Just like Ken Shamrock and that William Dundee fellow, I think he might soon find himself taking a rather extended vacation.

Larry Zbyszko: Well if you're so confident, why don't you put that TV title on the line?

Jean Paul Levesque: Ah, Living Legend. Always trying to be a source of lower class relations for these worthless people out here in, where are we, Baltimore? Oh yes, I should have known from the stench that emanates from this capacity crowd of derelicts that don't know how to properly utilize a shower to bath themselves. I think you will see later on tonight that Lord Steven has no need to put up his television championship because it does not matter. Sting will be defeated soundly, but surely. Just like all other opponents that dare step into our way, he is just another petty American, not unlike yourself.

Larry Zbyszko: Hey, I'll show you petty!

Tony Schiavone: Easy Legend, easy. That's later on tonight, Sting and Lord Steven Regal in our main event, assuming Larry Zbyszko doesn't get to him first. Right now lets send it back up to David Penzer, ready for more action.

Brad Armstrong's attitude has taken a turn in recent weeks. After his match on Nitro was interrupted several weeks back to instead air Dusty Rhodes arriving in a limo, to The Lightning Kid and Jerry Lynn getting time on Nitro over himself, last week on the show he took matters into his own hands by coming out during a rematch between the 2. Armstrong seemed supportive in an almost mocking way, that was later confirmed on Saturday Night, feeling their stunt show mentality is not wrestling at all. During that same interview, he challenged a real wrestler for tonight, and what a wrestler he got accepting his challenge. Chris Adams is here, well known by fans across the US, mostly for his time in World Class Championship Wrestling during their hey day. Before the match, Armstrong requests a mic.

Brad Armstrong: Hold on here, hold on. I appreciate the gesture, but what is this? 1984? I mean I enjoy watching Back To The Future as much as the next guy, but this is too much. I wanted a wrestling match with a top wrestler. Who is this guy? No offense Chris, but this isn't Texas Stadium and you know, I'm not Jimmy Garvin. I'm Brad Armstrong. The best wrestler in WCW today. And I mean, we could do this, but come on now. Save yourself the embarrassment and let's just call it a day. Just like those 2 last week went down to the minor leagues again when they were faced with the prospect of having to wrestle me instead of their high risk, high whatever style, you don't have to do this man. I have too much respect for you to let you come out here on national TV and just flat out lose instead of letting the fans remember you as you were 10 years ago. Let's go here. No reason for this.

Chris Adams: Hold on now, hold on. You wanted a wrestling match right? You wanted a chance to show that you're the best? Look, I'm not a couple young rookies that you'd probably run circles around in here, but what I am is somebody that intends to run circles around you tonight. I'm not here to lose, I'm here to win, so if you want somebody that can take you to the limit, look no further because I'm that man. And yeah, this might not be Texas Stadium in 1983, but these fans in Baltimore will remember September 30, 1993 because it is the night that I beat you right here tonight!

The fans cheer as Armstrong accepts it, double checking if Adams is sure he wants to do this. After verifying, Armstrong waits for him to turn his back and goes to jump him from behind. When Adams turns back around, Armstrong quickly changes to a handshake. Adams knows better. What follows is a scientific match that starts out with Adams taking Armstrong to school. The supposed "best wrestler in WCW today" is looking like anything but that here. He does have some luck against Adams though but it does not last long. Adams comes close to hitting his superkick but Armstrong manages to get to the outside for a breather. Back in, Armstrong uses a thumb to the eye to get the advantage. Tony Schiavone wonders why "the best wrestler" would have to do that, but Larry Zbyszko backs it up as a part of wrestling because if the referee does not see it, anything is legal. Armstrong works over Adams a bit before he makes the big babyface comeback. Armstrong ends up sent into the corner with an Irish whip as Adams charges in after. Armstrong gets a boot up to the face. He then scoops out Adams' legs into a cover. The referee counts, during which Armstrong puts his feet on the ropes for extra leverage. Brad Armstrong gets the win, cheating his way to victory here in hour #1 of Monday Nitro. Tony Schiavone is unimpressed, and Adams or the referee are none the wiser. After the match Armstrong extends a hand to Adams, rubbing salt in the wound according to the commentators. Adams having no idea how Armstrong won, accepts and shakes his hand. We will see if he feels the same way after he watches the match back.

Tony Schiavone: Alright, welcome back for more WCW Monday Nitro. Joining us right now at ringside is The Natural Dustin Rhodes. Dustin, we saw you in action this past weekend with a victory on Saturday Night, and I'm assuming everything is alright after you were sprayed in the eyes back at Fall Brawl?

Dustin Rhodes: Oh, everything's just fine Tony Schiavone. Everything's peachy out here. What isn't fine is that there was wording in that contract that I can't get another shot for 50 days after the Fall Brawl. Not even a rematch for the title, but any 1 on 1 match with Ravishing Rick Rude. I'm counting it down though Rude. Me and you are not finished yet, and when I get my hands on you, you're going to regret the day that you crossed Dustin Rhodes!

Larry Zbyszko: What about what we saw earlier. Johnny B. Badd, a little t'd off.

Dustin Rhodes: Hey listen, I can understand the frustration. You can too Larry. There's a lot of guys in that locker room that want a piece of Rick Rude in the ring. Now I just hope that at Halloween Havoc, Rowdy Roddy Piper does what he has to do. You know it, I know it, that there is nothing these fans want to see more than Rude humbled out here before them. Johnny B. Badd has himself a match later tonight with Big Van Vader, big opportunity. So hopefully that's the end of this situation for him and going forward, he can take a mutual stance and stand by in Piper's corner because he's going to need all the help he can get against that snake Rick Rude.

Tony Schiavone: Alright, Dustin Rhodes, and I don't know the exact number, but still some time away from that countdown being over before he can get Rick Rude back in the ring in a singles 1 on 1 match. Right now though, somebody else that wants a piece of somebody in a bad way, The Studd and Dallas Page as we go up to David Penzer.

The Studd finally gets his opportunity at revenge against Diamond Dallas Page. The 2 were aligned when Studd went against Barry Windham, signing his open contract for a shot at his NJPW Greatest 18 championship. DDP was put in the middle, hired by Windham to protect his title reign, but manager of The Studd, eventually choosing to turn on The Studd for costing him lots of money. Not only that but Page then took "The Diamond" back and he is only The Studd going forward. The 2 did have a run in on Saturday Night over the weekend with Studd coming out during DDP's match and chasing him to the back leading to a count out loss. What is this though? After Studd comes out, DDP comes out with his arm in a sling. Larry Zbyszko thinks something's rotten in Denmark with this, as DDP calls for a mic.

Dallas Page: Hold up here, hold up. Now you know Studd, you know that there's nothing I wanted more than to get my hands on you. Unfortunately though, as you can see, my arm has seen better days. Here's what happened bro. Saturday Night, you started chasing me, I get to a door, right? And this door, I go to throw it open, but the thing is locked shut. No, freaking, way. My arm jams up and doctor says I can't do this tonight. It's unfortunate how things turned out, but really, you only have yourself to blame.

Studd gets mad at that part and goes at Page, who gets between the ropes as the referee steps in.

Dallas Page: Get him off me! Get him off me! Alright, so here's how we're gonna play this. I knew you came here for a match tonight. So, you know, me and you, yeah. Donezo. You can bet though when this arm heals, hopefully by next year if I'm lucky, we can do this. But I got you another opponent for tonight. I knew you wanted action and you're gonna get it. Say hello to my little friend Scarface wanna be because tonight, you're wrestling him ...

Uh oh. Yoshi Kwan comes out with Harley Race, and this is a dangerous match under normal circumstances, but an even more dangerous match on about 30 seconds notice. DDP walks out of the ring and bows to Kwan and Race before taking his place in the corner at ringside. The match, is next.

The Studd was expecting Diamond Dallas Page, but as we found out before the break, DDP is "injured" with his arm in a sling and can not wrestle this match. Instead he has found a replacement in the form of Yoshi Kwan. The same Yoshi Kwan who put Van Hammer out of action at Fall Brawl with his dangerous nerve hold The Sleeping Dragon. The same Yoshi Kwan that followed that up by putting Johnny Gunn out of action the next night on Nitro, The Z Man out of action last week on Nitro. So far, everybody that Kwan has faced has not only went down in defeat, but suffered time away from the ring. Could The Studd join them with no plan of attack here? Despite the short notice, Studd more than holds his own early on. Kwan looks very vulnerable, unlike any other match so far. This leads to Kwan having to go outside to get advice from Race. A moment of comedy as Page attempts to join their huddle but a look from Race of "what the hell are you doing?" has DDP backing off and going back to his neutral corner. Kwan gets back in and gets some offense going, but Studd makes a comeback. He looks to give Kwan the Diamond Death Drop when DDP gets onto the apron. Studd releases and goes over but DDP jumps down before he can get his hands on him. This gives Kwan enough time that when The Studd turns around, Kwan blasts him with a sidekick. Kwan sets up and puts Studd in The Sleeping Dragon. It takes only seconds before the referee is calling for the bell. Kwan wins, releases the hold. DDP gets in there and tells Race to tell him to put him in it again. Kwan just gives DDP a look of intimidation that causes Page to take a few steps back before he and Race leave the ring. Studd could be lucky here as the others got extended time in The Sleeping Dragon, but unlucky as DDP seems to have gotten a 1 up on him psychologically with this. Studd is down and DDP starts kicking him repeatedly. The referee steps in but Page will not stop. His arm stays in the sling as he exits and heads to the back, very cocky, very arrogant, but maybe with a reason to be after what has happened here tonight. When the show returns, hour #2 kicks off with Sting in the ring! Stay tuned.

Eric Bischoff: Alright, thanks Tony. Excellent job as always by you and The Legend. I'm Eric Bischoff, joined by Bobby The Brain Heenan, and as you can see, surprise guest to help us call the action here tonight. The so called dean of wrestling himself, the 1 and the only Gordon Solie!

Gordon Solie: Thank you Eric. I'm looking forward to helping call the action tonight. A couple that I'm really looking forward to, Sting and Lord Steven Regal, and Ric Flair and Arn Anderson against Bobby Eaton and Chris Benoit. Should be some excellent action when that bell rings.

Bobby Heenan: I thought you were Monsoon on a crash diet for a second there. You know, he's right Bischoff. Lots of action, but you know what I'm looking forward to? It's not action, it's some talking.

Eric Bischoff: I think that's what every fan is looking forward to Brain.

Bobby Heenan: Later on tonight, right here on Nitro, we're gonna hear from the real World's champion, Ravishing Rick Rude, and-

Eric Bischoff: What?! That's not what I was talking about.

Bobby Heenan: What were you talking about then?

Eric Bischoff: At some point tonight, we have been promised words from Hulk Hogan.

Bobby Heenan: You're talking Hulk Hogan? Who cares! I'm telling you Rick Rude'll be out here to discuss what happened last week with Piper and you're telling me Hulk Hogan? Get real.

Eric Bischoff: I think you need to get real Brain, but (Sting's music starts playing), hey! You hear it! That's the music of Sting and he is headed to the ring guys. This should be interesting.

While he may have a match later on tonight with Lord Steven Regal, Sting's not out right now for that. He has some unfinished business from last week that he wants to get out of the way as he gets in the ring after a thunderous ovation from the fans and requests a mic so that he can address the WCW universe ... no, doesn't work. Never again will that term be used. I apologize.

Sting: Baltimore, Maryland, OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Make some noise! Alright. You know, I got a match later on with Lord Steven Regal, and I heard what he had to say out here earlier. Let's just say Regal, I ain't scared of you, so if you want to bring it later, do it! Give me all you got pal. What I want to do right now is just get down to it and cut to the chase. "Brother", I know you're here. I know you're back there. Get out here right now because we got something to talk about, and I think you know exactly what I mean. Come on, these people want it, I want it. We don't have all day.

The commentators start talking about the demands made last week by "Brother Brutus", clearly still avoiding saying the Beefcake name due to copyright reasons, and that he would produce Hulk Hogan tonight. After some waiting, the fans start to boo because there he is ...

He heads out to the ring, slowly. Laughing, having a good time. And why not? He is living the high life tonight as per the demands he made last week in order to get Hogan to speak here tonight.

Sting: Well you're not really the brother I was talking about. Come on man, where is he? Where's Hogan?

Brutus plays coy and just shrugs his shoulders before stepping into the ring. He leans back in a corner, but Sting is not playing games as he gets right in his face.

Sting: Look you piece of trash, where's Hogan, huh? Come on.

Brutus gets Sting to back up before taking the microphone. He knows he is in a position of power right now because he holds the Hogan card and everybody wants it.

Brother Brutus: Hold on, back up here a minute. You want to hear what the Hulkster has to say, in good time man, in good time. See, I'm not overly impressed with the reception I'm getting out here tonight. I wanted a flight in first class for me and the big man, and what do we get? A flight in first class, but I gotta wake up at 9am to be there on time to catch it. 9am man. I need my beauty sleep, you know what I'm saying? And then I ask for caviar and champagne in our own private dressing room, but instead I get there and see the cheapest dime store caviar and a bottle of champagne from the dirtiest region. I wanted women brother, I wanted high class women for me and the Hulkster. I get here and I got some dial a date models or something that probably moonlight on 1-900 lines, that's not quite what I was expecting.

Sting: Oh cry me a river. Nobody cares, I don't care. Where is Hogan?!

Brother Brutus: You should care! That's just it man. You should care. This isn't WCW man. Hulkster's a big time player. You want to get him to sign on the dotted line to wrestle you? He's not gonna do it with this bush league second rate knock off production and backstage politics. So we're gonna need some changes around here, and if you want the Hulkster produced tonight, we're gonna need some guarantees.

Sting: I can make 1 guarantee for you right now. I guarantee that if Hogan doesn't come out here right now, I'm gonna go back there and get him myself, you understand! Hey Hogan! Get out here, NOW!

Fans turn and well, it's not Hulk Hogan, but it is WCW commissioner J.J. Dillon. Brother Brutus seems pleased by this. Sting is growing more impatient by the minute as Dillon gets in the ring.

J.J. Dillon: Hey. We had a deal here. I met our demands, Hogan speaks. That's the deal we had.

Brother Brutus: Well I'm telling you now that I'm changing our deal brother. You want Hogan to speak, he'll only do it tonight under 1 condition. I got 1 condition that you're gonna have to meet or you will never, ever see Hogan again. Whether it's New York, Japan, heck I think Minnesota or Memphis would pony up some serious cash to get the Hulkster and become your new prime competition, don't you? We got options man, so you play by our rules, or you don't play at all.

J.J. Dillon: Alright then. What are your rules?

Brother Brutus: It's pretty simple. See tonight, you failed at pretty much everything. You tried, but it became pretty obvious this is a second rate operation you got going here. You might get the biggest TV ratings and look good when it beams onto TV sets across America, but when it comes to class, this place is dead last in my opinion. I know uncle Ted has money, so I wanna see it! I wanna see it, and going forward, here's how it's going down. You want the Hulkster, you do what I say.

Sting: Enough already! Get to the point man! GET TO THE POINT!

Brother Brutus: Hey, I'll walk right now if that's the attitude I'm gonna get. It's like I was saying, uncle Ted has money, lots of money. So what the Hulkster wants, and this is strictly the Hulkster, believe me. What he wants is you gotta sign me to a guaranteed money contract, and-

J.J. Dillon: No. Absolutely not.

Brother Brutus: Ok. Then I walk. You don't do it. No Hogan. Not tonight, not ever. What do you think uncle Ted will say though when we show up somewhere else and suddenly the TNT ratings take a nose dive brother? I think heads will roll and when he finds out you could have prevented it, when he finds out-

J.J. Dillon: Ok.

Brother Brutus: Ok what? Haha, ok, what?

J.J. Dillon: You'll get your contract.

Sting: J.J., you can't be serious.

J.J. Dillon: But I'm telling you right now, you sign it, you get the hell out of here. This is about Hulk Hogan. Nothing to do with you. These fans want to hear from Hulk Hogan, and they want to hear from him tonight.

Brother Brutus: Not so fast. See, this contract I want, in addition to being guaranteed money brother, I want some perks written in. See Hulkster needs somebody that can inspect things to make sure they're up to his high standard going forward before he can commit to making any appearances for WCW. You'll hear from him tonight, but going forward, I get a first class ticket every Monday to Nitro. Round trip of course, and it doesn't matter where or even if Hogan's scheduled to appear. I get a penthouse suite. I get all expenses paid. See, I need to make sure that WCW is upholding their end. If Hogan's not happy, that makes me not happy. We all want to be happy though, don't we J.J.?

J.J. Dillon: Can we just get this over with?

Brother Brutus: Not so fast. In this contract, I want something else. I want it written in that we get to name our match any time, any place. Well me for now, and then when we get to the Hulkster's, you do that for him too brother. If I want a match for the WCW title right now man, I get it! Got it?

Sting: J.J., if you give him this, I swear to you this will be it-

J.J. Dillon: Sting. Hold on here. Sting! Calm down. You want a match with Hulk Hogan right? We gotta do this.

Brother Brutus: Yeah Stinger, brother. You want to wrestle the Hulkster? You want to prove you're the best? You play by my rules, got it? I'm the star here, not you. I might've been a medium sized fish in a big pond, but you're an even smaller fish in an even smaller pond. When it comes to WCW, I'm the biggest fish you got, and when the Hulkster steps in, I don't even know if a fish like you can survive.

Sting: Oh I can survive. This pond as you call it, it's a lot bigger than you seem to think it is, and I think I speak for everybody when I say I can't wait to see you sink before you can swim. Fine. J.J., you give him that contract, and as for you, you just get Hogan the hell out here before the end of the night. And I hope I beat Vader at Halloween Havoc, and the next night you use that little clause in your contract. You name your little match, and you name it with me. Cause I would LOVE to get you in the ring, and I would LOVE to put you in the Scorpion Deathlock until I break your back and you can go crying all the way back to the Hulkster and tell him first hand what it's like so he knows what to expect when he steps up and faces me like a real man.

J.J. Dillon: And just to be clear. We hear from Hogan tonight, or no contract.

Brother Brutus: Yeah, that's fine. I want it sealed with a handshake though. Right here on live TV. I want to shake your hand, and I want to shake your hand (referring to Sting).

Sting: If you think I'm gonna shake your hand, you-

J.J. Dillon: Please! Gentlemen. Let's try to be civil about this. (J.J. shakes his hand) No Hogan tonight? No contract. We hear from him in the next hour. I hope we're clear.

Brother Brutus: Crystal brother, crystal haha. Stinger man, don't leave me hanging here. You gonna do it or what?

Sting is very hesitant.

Brother Brutus: Shake it man! Shake it like I'm gonna shake my booty all over Baltimore later tonight brother, haha.

Sting clearly wants nothing to do with this complete and total annoying sleeze ball that has shystered his way into a contract, but he extends his hand and shakes it.

Brother Brutus: Alright! Yeah baby! You want the Hulkster? You wanna know what he's got to say? Well he'll be out, but later on. You'll hear from him before the end of the night, we just got some stuff to take care of first. Pleasure doing business with you 2 haha.

And with that, he exits the ring. J.J. tries to pacify an angered Sting about all of that as Brother Brutus walks away with his head held high, and apparently now officially a member of the WCW roster with extraordinary powers to 1 time name whatever match he wants for himself, whenever he wants it. Eric Bischoff notes that if his contract was that tough to negotiate, just imagine Hogan's!

WCW Tag Team Title match

Fans still reeling after that last segment, but no time for rest because the action continues here in hour #2 with the first match, and a big 1 at that too. WCW Tag Team Title is on the line when Ric Flair and Arn Anderson defend against Bobby Eaton and Chris Benoit, following their win over The Nasty Boys this past weekend on Saturday Night. Some history here as Eaton has had many battles with both men, and also previously held the WCW Tag Team Title himself with Anderson as a partner. For somebody like Benoit in 1993, this match is a huge opportunity to showcase what he has in quite possibly the biggest match so far in his young career. At least since arriving in WCW it is. The match begins with the former partners as Anderson and Eaton test the waters. Anderson gets the better of Eaton, leading to Benoit getting the tag to come in. He fairs little better, but ends up standing when Flair gets the tag to come in and fans get into it. The woo's starts and now Eaton wants back in. Eaton gets right in Flair's face, shoves him, but gets shoved back, and the action gets going again. Flair has control early, and together with Anderson get some hot tags going as they work him over. Anderson is in there and continues, until Eaton manages to catch him with a knee to the gut and reverse the direction. Now it is Eaton and Benoit with the quick tags as they look to keep Anderson isolated from a tag to Flair. Benoit gets a near fall after a bridging German suplex, but Anderson kicks out. Eaton sets up for the Alabama Jam after that, but as he flies off, Anderson gets out of the way. Eaton is down after that and trying to get over to tag in Benoit before Anderson gets to Flair. Benoit tags in! But so does Flair! Chops galore for Benoit, Eaton getting some too. Anderson comes in and gets Eaton out to the floor where they continue to go at it. Flair meanwhile has Benoit down. He grabs the leg and prepares for the Figure 4 Leglock when hopping up to the apron, it is ...

Scotty Flamingo?! He starts causing a commotion, enough of 1 that the referee has to go over and tell him to get the hell out of there. The commentators wonder what reason Flamingo, supposedly retired as of last week, what reason he has to be out here during this match. Flair tells the referee to forget about it after dropping Benoit's leg. Flamingo though starts to enter the ring now to keep the referee's attention. Flair though turns to go back to Benoit before noticing that, when ...









... WHAM! ...

He turns into a big lariat from The Lone Wolf Barry Windham! What is he doing here? He is supposed to be in Japan defending his Greatest 18 championship! Windham gets out as quick as he came in, going back through the crowd. Anderson meanwhile grabs Flamingo and pulls him down, nailing him with a right. Benoit meanwhile has got up and gone outside to the top rope, he flies off with a swan dive headbutt to Flair. Benoit clutches his own head before rolling into a cover ...

Flair gets a shoulder up just after the 3, but it is too late. The bell rings. Chris Benoit has just pinned Ric Flair with outside help from Barry Windham, already gone, and Scotty Flamingo of all people?! Flamingo grabs the title belts and regroups with Eaton and Benoit on the floor, they are the NEW WCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! Shocking turn of events as Anderson and Shane Douglas, now out just a bit too late to prevent any of that, and they help up an angry Flair. The 3 are left to watch the others celebrating their victory out on the floor. Eric Bischoff points out that it is clear there is some sort of association with Flamingo and the new WCW Tag Team champions, but wonders what Windham's role in all of that was, reiterating he should be in Japan defending his title.

- Tony Schiavone is standing by for the second installment. The event takes place live on PPV in 4 weeks on Sunday October 27 from The Lake Front Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sting challenges Big Van Vader for the WCW title, the former champion getting 1 more chance as a result of his win 2 weeks ago over Ric Flair in a #1 contenders match on Nitro. Last week it was made official, Rick Rude vs Rowdy Roddy Piper as The Hot Rod makes a very rare in ring appearance looking to avenge what happened to him at the August Clash of Champions. Earlier tonight it was made official - Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal - Cactus Jack against Sid Vicious. What type of match will they have? You will have to tune in to the PPV to find out. Eric Bischoff: There you have it guys. Halloween Havoc, October 27, 3 big matches signed so far and it's only going to get better. Let's talk about what we just saw though. New WCW Tag Team champions, Beautiful Bobby Eaton does it again, this time with Chris Benoit.

Gordon Solie: I'm very impressed so far with what I've seen out of Chris Benoit, and Bobby Eaton's resume speaks for itself. I don't know though if their association with Scotty Flamingo is a positive or a negative. I think that tag team is good enough that if they just focus on winning, they could get the job done on their own. They could have very well defeated Ric Flair and Arn Anderson without that, but now that win is forever tainted in the record books.

Bobby Heenan: But it's in the record books and that's all that matters. See, what you need to understand is that in wrestling, it's win at any costs. Some people seem to care about rules and this or that, but what matters is at the end of the match, they had their hands raised, and not only that. They also have the Tag Team title to their name now, while Ric Flair and Arn Anderson have nothing.

Eric Bischoff: I think they have something, at least Ric Flair does. A grudge to settle with Barry Windham. I thought he was in Japan. I assumed he was still over there defending his title.

Bobby Heenan: Well you know what they say about assuming - don't!

Gordon Solie: I was surprised as well, but perhaps we shouldn't have been. Barry Windham and Ric Flair have had a longstanding grudge, dating back months now. They have yet to settle that rivalry, and whatever brought on what we just saw, it could finally be the catalyst towards getting that match signed so that we can see it.

Eric Bischoff: And that would certainly be a match to look out for. Right now though, we gotta get down to the ring where David Penzer is ready and standing by. This match was set up earlier tonight by J.J. Dillon at the start of the show, Johnny B. Badd, Big Van Vader, and it's now!

Johnny B. Badd wanted to be named the opponent of Ravishing Rick Rude for Halloween Havoc last week. He wanted it, he felt he deserved it, but he didn't get it. He made his opinion very clear earlier tonight, leading to WCW commissioner J.J. Dillon deciding to make a counter offer. While he cannot give him a match tonight with Rude, he can give him a match tonight against another champion, the WCW Heavyweight champion Big Van Vader. The match is non title, but it is a huge opportunity for Badd, 1 of the biggest he has had in WCW so far. He has been on a roll and a win tonight would send him up the rankings towards a title match. Badd is outweighed here by roughly 200 pounds, and it shows when the 2 stand across each other. Badd tries his best, but Vader is just too big and too strong. But his heart is clearly into the match as he will not give up. Badd takes some stuff shots to the ribs, but comes back with hard rights. A distraction from Harley Race on the outside allows for Vader to regain the advantage. With Badd setup in the corner, Vader heads to the second rope to come off with a Vader bomb. After bouncing to build momentum, Vader leaps back, but Badd moves! Badd quickly covers but Vader kicks out at 2. Almost had the upset there. When they get back to their feet, Vader gets back the advantage, but Badd starts firing off dropkicks. Vader is staggering but staying on his feet. Right hand, right hand, he is rocked but not going down. Badd winds up, big left hand with the Kiss That Don't Miss and Vader drops down like a freshly cut tree and crashes to the mat. Badd covers quickly, but Vader gets a shoulder up before the 3 count. Back up and Vader is groggy and Badd goes to send him into the ropes. Big mistake as Vader reverses him, but Vader makes a mistake himself by dropping his head too soon allowing Badd to leap across with a sunset flip. Vader fights going down and just when it looks like he is about to crash back, he instead drops down and crashes his weight into Badd's chest. Vader gets up and readies Badd, lifting him up, and a powerbomb into the mat. Vader covers, picking up the 3 count and the win, but Eric Bischoff is focused more on putting over the effort of Badd here. Vader is being told by Race to do it again! Vader readies Badd, when from the back comes ...

Dustin Rhodes! The Natural comes in for the save and fires off several punches onto Vader, before a dropkick sends him through the ropes and out to the floor. The fans are fired up, but Vader is not about to go back in there right now. At least not with Race outside holding him back. Rhodes takes a knee to check on Badd, while at the same time staying ready in case Vader tries anything. Badd makes a big impression here tonight against the WCW champion, but pays a price in doing so.

Eric Bischoff: Welcome back to WCW Nitro, live on TNT. Guys, before the break we saw a lot going on. Johnny B. Badd nearly defeating Big Van Vader in that non title match, Dustin Rhodes coming out for the save. Get this though. J.J. Dillon already at work, this weekend on Saturday Night? Dustin Rhodes and Johnny B. Badd against The Masters of The Power Bomb, he is working on getting it signed. We just gotta get word on Sid's involvement to make it official, but wouldn't that be something?

Gordon Solie: I've called many matches of Dustin's father Dusty, so I know he has the line-age to compete with the best of the best here. But for either him or Johnny B. Badd, they are at risk of taking that dangerous supl-ai known as the power bomb due to the size difference involved.

Bobby Heenan: I'll have 1 of those.

Eric Bischoff: 1 of what?

Bobby Heenan: A soufflet.

Gordon Solie: Mr. Heenan, you are incomparable beyond words.

Bobby Heenan: Thank you.

Gordon Solie: That wasn't a compliment.

Not in this lifetime pal. You and me aren't finished, not yet, not by a long shot. This ends. I want you Windham. I want you at Halloween Havoc. 1 on 1. You wanna sign matches J.J.? You wanna do all this for Hogan? Do it for me. Or I walk! Try me J.J. Make the match. You wanna give Beefcake champagne, caviar, women, penthouse suites, BEEFCAKE?! All I want is Windham 1 on 1.

Missy Hyatt: What about the Tag Team title?

Arn Anderson: Well Missy, it seems to me we have a problem there. The problem being Bobby Eaton and Chris Benoit have the belts now, and Scotty Flamingo helped them do it. Here's what I wanna know though. Shane Douglas! Where were you tonight? Why weren't you out there watching our backs?

Shane Douglas: Me? I got out there as fast as I could! I tried-

Ric Flair: Tried?! You tried?! You don't try as a Horseman, you do!

Arn Anderson: This just shows me you got a long way to go. Maybe this isn't meant to be, maybe you aren't Horseman material.

Shane Douglas: If you prick me, I bleed Horseman! You wanna see, punch my face right now until it's a crimson mask!

Arn Anderson: You don't bleed Horseman yet.

Shane Douglas: Next week, I'll take on Windham. I'll prove to both of you that I am Horseman material. That I have what it takes!

Arn Anderson: You don't prove anything about being a Horseman next week. You're not at the finish line yet, you haven't even started the race, got it? You got a long way to go. But it's a start. This was just as much our mistake as it was yours because we put trust in somebody that we shouldn't have. That trust was never there to begin with. You're gonna have to earn that trust because from now on, you don't watch our back until we say you do.

Shane Douglas: I will earn it. I won't let you down again!

Ric Flair: And Eaton! Benoit! Don't think those Tag Team titles are staying with you long because we will get a rematch! And when do, all I can say is woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

A big time grudge match here, the magnitude of which would normally be saved for a PPV or Clash, but these 2 tag teams have no interest in waiting that long. Both teams were scheduled to be part of the big War Games match, but along the way, Road Warrior Animal was injured by Harlem Heat and put on the shelf, causing him to miss the match. On last week's Nitro, it was Hawk vs Ron Simmons and just when it seemed the match could boil down to a 3 on 1 attack, Animal made his return. The Road Warriors threw out the challenge on Saturday Night and Harlem Heat accepted. The 2 teams even had a run in at the start of the show with both teams making an appearance during the Cactus Jack vs Ron Simmons opening match. With the Heat out first here, The Road Warriors come out, taking off their shoulder pads on the way, getting into the ring, and immediately getting the action underway as the bell rings. The referee has a hard time controlling this with all 4 men brawling. Hawk takes Stevie Ray out to the floor while Animal and Booker T go at it in the ring and thus declared the starting legal men. Stevie Ray gets Hawk reversed into the guard rail and goes into the ring to double team Animal, but he bursts through a double clothesline attempt and comes back with 1 of his own. Hawk comes in as the Heat go to the outside. Now things get settled down as Animal awaits their return, but they stall as long as possible before going back in. Animal goes at it with Booker tagging out to Stevie Ray, but Booker wastes little time before he gets involved again, striking Animal with a knee to the back when he goes into the ropes. The Heat begin double teaming with Hawk trying to come in for the save, only serving as a further distraction for the referee to allow them to keep double teaming. The Heat focus their attack on the back of Animal, the area injured in their pre War Games attack several weeks back. Hawk can only watch as his partner takes a rare beating, having to sell while the Heat try and re-injure the back and put him back on the shelf. Animal does manage a shoulder block onto Booker after ducking a clothesline. Crawling for the hot tag, Stevie Ray comes in and gets the ref's attention, causing him to miss Hawk being tagged in. Hawk immediately gets told to get out, leading to the Heat going back to the double team, but Hawk is not going to stand by this time. He goes back in and has some right hands for both men to save his partner. The referee is again losing control of this match as all 4 are in and brawling. He tries breaking up Hawk and Stevie Ray, the 2 illegal men, but ends up shoved down in the chaos and calls for the bell. Fans boo as this match will be officially a no contest, but the action is not yet finished. Extra help comes out in the form of referees and backstage personnel to separate the teams, but it takes some time. Finally they get separated, but the commentators stress that this situation is far from being settled and we have not seen the last meeting between these tag teams.

Tony Schiavone: Welcome back to WCW Monday Nitro, live on TNT. Joining me right now is the World champion as recognized by WCW International, speaking of course of Ravishing Rick Rude. Last week, you found out that at Halloween Havoc in 4 weeks time, it will be yourself against Rowdy Roddy Piper. The same man you attacked back in August at the Clash of Champions and laid out with the Rude Awakening, not once, but twice.

Rick Rude: What I found out Tony Schiavone is that the WCW will do whatever it takes to try and pin the shoulders of Rick Rude down to the mat. I've come out here week after week, defeating the best that this company has to offer, and to the surprise of nobody, I come out on top every single time. Now they wanna try and stir up some sort of longstanding grudge, think that because the Hot Rod has it in for me, he'll be able to get the job done. I've got news for you though and everybody out there watching in TV land. Ravishing Rick Rude lays down for nobody, that's what makes me the ladies choice! Piper, you should have spent less time worrying about movies the last year. You don't have what it takes anymore, and I'm going to make what I did to you at the Clash of the Champions back in August seem like a Sunday at grandma's. Got it?

Tony Schiavone: And switching gears from that, what about The Nature Dustin Rhodes. Even Johnny B. Badd. The list of men looking to get you in that ring is growing.

Rick Rude: And the list of men that have fallen before me is just as long. I beat Rhodes at Fall Brawl. He can complain all he wants, but he's gotta still be there when that 50 days expires. He's gotta be at the top of the food chain Schiavone. As far as Badd goes, I saw him out here earlier, and he seems to have far bigger fish to fry than a match with me. Badd is a second rate competitor, and he doesn't belong in the same ring with me. If he has a problem with that, he can come try me. I'm not a wrestler Schiavone, I'm an animal. A hungry animal, and anybody that gets in my way will be devoured because there's only 1 way, and that's the Ravishing way!

Eric Bischoff: Alright, and before we talk about that, want to clear something up. Before the break, Ric Flair called him "Beefcake". We want to clarify, that was his name elsewhere, but he is not under contract there or anybody right now just to avoid confusion. He's a free agent acting on his own accord, you could even call him the man with no name right now, but that was the heat of the moment with Flair making a mistake just to avoid any possible legal action on that front. Of course that could all change if he produces Hulk Hogan later tonight, a guaranteed contract for him. Back to Ravishing Rick Rude-

Bobby Heenan: The champ!

Eric Bischoff: As recognized by WCW international, yes. He seems to be in over his head if you ask me. Struggling to stay afloat with Dustin Rhodes, Johnny B. Badd, even The Living Legend. You add Rowdy Roddy Piper to that boat and I think his ship is going to start sinking pretty fast.

Bobby Heenan: See, what you fail to understand is that Roddy Piper is yesterday's news. He was a big deal. Keyword was. You go off making movies, hosting Piper's Pit. Ok, you get a little fired up because Rick Rude attacked you, so what? That doesn't mean you can take him in the ring though. You gotta really put forward 110% if you want to stand a chance to defeat Rick Rude, and I don't think Piper's doing that. Where are the warm up matches? Where is the devotion, the commitment? Not there.

Eric Bischoff: I think you're greatly underestimating what Roddy Piper can do Brain. Main event time now, Sting and Lord Steven Regal. I know this is a match you're looking forward to.

Gordon Solie: It certainly is. Sting can be an outstanding wrestler in that ring, and paired up against somebody at the level of Lord Steven Regal should really bring out the best in him. He might have that match at Halloween Havoc with Big Van Vader for the WCW title, but if he can emerge with a win tonight, I think that proves that he has what it takes to get the job done. Regal is TV champion, held the belt for a long time now. This could be Sting's finest hour, or it could be what puts Regal into the upper echelon of talent here in WCW.

Eric Bischoff: Alright, and just a reminder. Gordon Solie here tonight as WCW Slamboree, the Legends' Reunion available on VHS everywhere. Sting has had his plate full of late. Narrowly defeating The Nature Boy Ric Flair 2 weeks to earn the next shot at WCW Heavyweight champion Big Van Vader, that match will take place at Halloween Havoc. Also looming though is a potential match with Hulk Hogan after that, but it is "Brother Brutus" that is proving to be a source of problems. While there have been no physical altercations yet, the war of words heated up earlier tonight. And now Sting looks to show he can move past any distraction as he has a non title match with the WCW TV champion Lord Steven Regal. Considered 1 of the best in ring talents in WCW today, Regal will give Sting a challenge second to none. Not out with him tonight is new protege Jean Paul Levesque, but Eric Bischoff quickly remarks that he is here as we heard from him with Regal earlier, and you know he is back there just waiting. Sting comes out to bring the crowd to their feet. Regal tries to jump him before the bell, backing him to a corner, but Sting quickly turns the tide into his favor. Regal ends up going to the floor to catch his breath but Sting follows, giving him no chance to get back to a neutral start. The action gets into the ring where Sting continues with the upper hand, until Regal manages a thumb to the eye, followed by a head first smash into the turnbuckle. Regal kicks away and punches to down Sting, before starting to wear him down with submission holds. Key is an abdominal stretch that has Sting in pain, with his Lordship adding to it by reaching over to grab the top rope for added leverage. At this point, confirmation comes in for WCW Saturday Night - Dustin Rhodes and Johnny B. Badd vs Big Van Vader and Sid Vicious! Back to action though, the referee senses something is up, but only manages to see the top rope shaking and Regal protesting his innocence. Finally Regal gets caught and gets a 5 count to break the hold. During that, Sting flips Regal over with a hip toss. Regal gets up and takes a clothesline, followed by another, and then a big dropkick. Sting gives Regal a gorilla press slam, before sending him to the corner and going for the Stinger Splash. As Sting charges in, Regal gets out of the way. A 2 count follows, before Regal starts to focus on the leg. After some offense, he puts on the Regal Stretch, and Sting has nowhere to go. Dead center of the ring, he reaches for the ropes with nothing close. Ever the optimist, Sting starts crawling over, using only his arm strength. Regal is in shock with a facial expression to match, as Sting inches closer, finally grabbing the bottom rope. Regal releases and grabs Sting to continue, but instead gets reversed into the ropes and the dreaded double clothesline spot takes place that puts both men down on the mat. Getting up, Regal's punches get blocked, and Sting fires back with fury! Sting is on a roll now and he gets Regal into position for the Stinger Splash, this time connecting! Regal goes down and Sting goes to the legs, locking in the Scorpion Deathlock. It takes only seconds before Regal's shaking of his head no, turns to a yes and he gives up. Regal submits and Sting wins the match. Sting wins, but ...

Before any celebration can occur, out comes the man of the hour. He has been given a guaranteed contract under the provision Hulk Hogan speaks tonight before the end of Nitro.

Brother Brutus: Congratulations Stinger. Give it up everybody for the Stinger! Yeah baby! haha. A big win, the first of what I hope is many, as does the Hulkster, before your match with Big Van Vader at the Halloween Havoc. See, we want you as WCW champion the Monday after, because what better a match than Hulk Hogan vs Sting, 1 on 1, for the WCW Heavyweight title brother! These fans wanna see it, I wanna see it, and I'll tell you who else wants to see it. Or maybe he can tell you himself! That's right Baltimore! I promised it and I deliver. You wanna hear from the man himself? You wanna hear from the Hulkster?! Wait no longer. WCW, Baltimore, Maryland, and most importantly Sting, I give to you, the 1, the only, HULK HOGAN!

And with that the video screen starts to play ...

Sting gets a confused look on his face. It quickly turns to 1 of annoyance when it stops.

Eric Bischoff (on commentary): What the hell was that?

Bobby Heenan (on commentary): Now that looks good! You wanted to hear from Hulk Hogan? You got it.

Eric Bischoff (on commentary): That's BS Brain. I thought, everybody thought for that matter, we'd hear from Hogan, relevant to WCW and Sting. Not the trailer to his next movie. If he thinks he's getting a guaranteed contract for shilling out Hogan's Hollywood projects, he's in for a surprise.

Brother Brutus: Looks good, doesn't it? Mr. Nanny. In theaters everywhere. What do you think Stinger?

Sting takes a mic.

Sting: Hardy har har. I guess it's sort of fitting though. He's used to playing with children, and now he runs scared where the big boys play, huh!? If Hulk Hogan's not here, I'm gonna give you a piece of advice. Run. Cause if we're not going to hear from the Hulkster, these fans are at least going to hear from you, screaming in pain and begging for your life. Come here!

Sting exits the ring and starts up the aisle. Brother Brutus looks scared as he starts to beg when ...

BIG VAN VADER! Coming out from the side of the Nitro set, he surprises Sting with a double sledge. Sting goes down as Vader starts to kick away. Sting gets up, but ends up taking several hard shots to the ribs. With Harley Race barking out orders, Vader looks to be setting up for a powerbomb. ON THE FLOOR?! Thankfully Doug Dellinger is out with WCW security. That does not stop Vader though, eventually having to be physically restrained before nailing down 1 of the security guards. Race points down at Sting, telling him "This is just the beginning!", meanwhile Vader stands tall. Sting's repeated reassurances that he will not be distracted by all this Hulk Hogan stuff has now been proven false with this attack. Vader has gotten the better of Sting here tonight, and with 4 weeks left to go, anything can happen! Bischoff says that they are out of time, reminds viewers to tune in next Monday, Sting left laying as the show fades off.
