Tony Schiavone: Welcome everybody to WCW Saturday Night! Coming to you on TBS with the longest running wrestling tradition on cable TV today, I'm Tony Schiavone along with Jesse The Body Ventura. And what a show we have for you tonight, only 6 days removed from Fall Brawl and on the road to the Halloween Havoc. Over the next hour, the main event will see a big 6 man tag team match when 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Bagwell team up with The Z Man, taking on the trio of Beautiful Bobby and Chris Benoit, joined by Jean Paul Levesque, the former Terra Ryzing.
Jesse Ventura: And if they put on a show half as good as they did at Fall Brawl, we're in for a real treat tonight. I don't know much about this Levesque guy, but when you're Lord Steven Regal's apprentice, his protege if you will; when you have that role, big things are expected out of you. Looking across the way though, you throw in a veteran like The Z Man to that team and that could turn out to be the deciding factor. Could go either way Schiavone.
Tony Schiavone: And not only that, but we will also hear from Ravishing Rick Rude for the first time since J.J. Dillon decided that Miss Alexandra York would be banned from WCW.
Jesse Ventura: And you gotta wonder, who's J.J. trying to punish with that 1? Rude's good enough he doesn't need her there, but I gotta tell ya. I like a woman in glasses cause it means those eyes of hers can appreciate The Body in prescribed 20/20 vision, ha!
Tony Schiavone: Well she might have had to take them off for that. Also tonight, the man known only as The Studd is here in action, as are The Nasty Boys as they return to the ring here on TBS. When we return though, it's the newly returned Shane Douglas in action, plus words from Johnny B. Badd. Stay with us, big night of action ahead.
-- First commercial break --
Johnny B. Badd is interviewed about the upcoming surprise announcement on Nitro in relation to Rick Rude. Badd tells viewers that he thinks he deserves another chance at Rude and the World title as he has been on a role as of late. It is unfortunate what happened to Dustin Rhodes at Fall Brawl, but it just shows the no limits approach that Rude takes to wrestling, and he thinks the only solution is a left hand to the jaw to put him down. Badd gives a personal plea to J.J. Dillon this Monday on Nitro to give him 1 more chance because he knows that he can do it and get the job done that nobody else can.
Match #1
Shane Douglas defeated Mark Starr via pinfall after the belly to belly suplex. An impressive return for Douglas now being labeled The Stallion by commentators as The Horseman in training, although as the commentators note that is a long road. Jesse Ventura also points out what happened to the last guy that used a belly to belly as a finisher (Ken Shamrock) now being sent on a 1 way ticket out of WCW.
-- Second commercial break --
Dustin Rhodes is interviewed about his match at Fall Brawl last Sunday with Rick Rude. Rhodes tells viewers that he had the match won had it not been for Alexandra York, but now that she is gone, he thinks if given the shot, he can take that title from Rude's waist. It gets pointed out that per some fancy contract work, Rhodes can not get another shot at Rude and his title for 50 days from Fall Brawl, but Rhodes intends to wait out that clock to the second and if Rude is still champion at that time, he will be coming for him and the title.
Match #2
The Nasty Boys defeated Pat Tanaka and Haito when Saggs pinned Haito after an elbow drop from the top rope, following a powerslam from Knobbs. The Nasty Boys are back and ready to go following up on their win at Fall Brawl with this victory over a decorated tag team.
-- Third commercial break --
Brad Armstrong is interviewed about his thoughts on the match this past Monday on Nitro with The Lightning Kid against Jerry Lynn. Armstrong tells the viewers that it is questions like that, that only further drive home what every fan thinks of him. Rather than ask about his own career, instead they're talking about 2 flash in the pan wrestlers that will be lucky if they are not in a wheelchair before 30. Clearly WCW thinks this is what light heavyweight wrestling should be, meanwhile his match 2 weeks ago spends more time with the camera on a limo outside the building. He is not going to stand for this, and intends to take matters into his own hands starting this Monday because Brad Armstrong is not taking a back seat anymore to anybody.
Match #3
The Studd defeated Joey Maggs via pinfall after The Death Drop. Gone were all the diamond references, having been stripped from him by Diamond Dallas Page when kicked out of The Diamond Mine this past Monday. Interesting note saw Arn Anderson coming out to watch part of this match. The commentators wondered if maybe he was eyeing The Studd for that 4th spot in The Horsemen with Jesse Ventura noting that a stud is a horse at the top of the chain in genetics, maybe a fitting name for the man out there right now.
-- Fourth commercial break --

Scotty Flamingo is interviewed about his loss this past Monday on Nitro to Keith Cole. Flamingo tells viewers that while he feels he was cheated out of a victory, the fact that none of the fans did anything about it shows what they think of him. He has spent the last 5 days doing a lot of thinking and he has a big announcement to make this coming Monday on Nitro, in fact a huge announcement that could rock WCW to its very core. Asked to elaborate, Flamingo will only say that he is saving it for the biggest stage in wrestling, Monday Nitro, and that pro wrestling as a whole will never be the same again.
-- Fifth commercial break --
Promotional Consideration paid for by the following:
- G.I. Joe, good vs. evil, figures and vehicles sold seperately
- Mortal Kombat from Akklaim, available for Genesis, Super NES, Game Gear, and Game Boy
- Spiderman and X-Men team up in arcade's revenge, available for SNES and Genesis from Akklaim
Match #4
Bobby Eaton, Chris Benoit, and Jean Paul Levesque defeated 2 Cold Scorpio, Marcus Alexander Bagwell, and The Z Man when Eaton pinned Zenk after a kneedrop off the top rope while Benoit was holding him. Bagwell was busy brawling with Levesque, and Scorpio was distracted by Lord Steven Regal, having arrived during the contest to try and get a closer look at the progress of his protege (and interfere too). Jesse Ventura thinks that this is a good sign for the Eaton and Benoit team heading into the mini tournament that begins on Nitro on Monday, concluding with the 2 winners meeting right here next week on Saturday Night.
Rick Rude is interviewed about his thoughts on J.J. Dillon's announcement of a surprise for him this Monday on Nitro. Rude tells the viewers that what he wants to talk about is the banning of Alexandra York from attending any future WCW events because it is just another example of WCW trying to hold him down and screw with him. It does not matter who the commissioner lines up to next take him on because they will fall like everybody else has to the Rude Awakening. As for Johnny B. Badd's comments from earlier or Dustin Rhodes thinking in 50 days he will just waltz his way into a title shot, both have had their chance and failed as far as he is concerned, they can both go to the back of the line.
Tony Schiavone closes the show by reminding viewers to tune this coming Monday for Nitro on TNT at 8pm eastern, and to come back next week at 6:05 for more WCW on Saturday Night. Until then, so long!
