Eric Bischoff: From the Forest City, home of The Indians, home of The Cavaliers, home of The Browns, and tonight the home of WCW, Cleveland, Ohio, this is Monday Nitro live on TNT! We are less than 24 hours removed from Fall Brawl and the fallout begins tonight as we head to Halloween Havoc in 6 weeks time. I'm Eric Bischoff, joined as I am every week by Bobby The Brain Heenan and Larry Zbyszko, The Living Legend himself, and gentlemen, tonight is all about new beginnings. Main event tonight, #1 contender for the WCW title of Big Van Vader, are you ready for it? The 2 men who just last night co captained a team to victory in the War Games, it's Sting, it's The Nature Boy Ric Flair, and it's tonight.
Bobby Heenan: Has J.J. Dillon lost his mind?! So you're telling me that these 2 guys, at each others throats week after week, and then they finally get on the same page. Now though, he's going to rip that page up and put them in opposite corners? All for a shot at Vader? Big mistake. I think what we're gonna see is the 2 of them wear each other to the point of exhaustion. That's gonna be a great match, no doubt about it. But just when 1 man comes out on top, if you're Vader and you're watching that, you might as well get out there now and deal with it. Somebody's going home a loser, the other is going to the hospital. Have fun gentlemen.
Eric Bischoff: Well that remains to be seen. I think either man can more than handle their own, and above that, what a match for us here tonight. But turning back to last night again. 2 tickets at ringside, left for Hulk Hogan. He never showed, but that just raises more question than it answers. Is he here tonight? We don't know. But if he is Legend, why? We want answers and we want them now. I think we've waited long enough.
Larry Zbyszko: Hey, you're preaching to the choir with me. I don't know why he walked out here 2 weeks ago and I don't know that we'll ever see him again in WCW. Was it a message to the boys in the back? Was it a negotiating ploy with the other guys? What was it? Maybe he just wanted to set the record straight with you after you called him out a couple months back. Until he walks back out here, we won't know what the deal is and if that never happens, we may never know what the true purpose of that appearance was.
Eric Bischoff: An appearance that has had the wrestling world talking, wanting answers. And speaking of wanting answers, we aren't gonna waste any time tonight because we understand that Harley Race has something to say out here tonight, and (Big Van Vader's music starts to play interrupting Bischoff), there you hear it! Let's not waste any more time and get to the ring to hear to what they have to say!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Harley Race and the WCW champion Big Van Vader head to the ring, Race looking upset with the commentators speculating it could be due to the loss in War Games last night. But it could also have something to do with tonight's main event with Sting vs Ric Flair to decide who challenges Vader at the upcoming Halloween Havoc PPV.
Harley Race: Cut the music. CUT IT! I'm not here right now for pleasantries and more important, neither is Big Van Vader. What we're out here to do is talk about what happened last night at Fall Brawl. The match later tonight with Sting and Ric Flair, that's all fine and well because despite the appearance, it is not between 2 winners, it is between 2 big losers! You see, last night in the War Games, this man right here never lost! He didn't submit, he didn't surrender, he dominated inside that cage and it was an inferior team that were the cause of that L that will accompany him in the record books. It wasn't Vader that lost, it was the Harlem Heat. They submitted! They lost the match and if we'd had our way, it would've been Vader 1 on 5 because that's how you get results. This man right here is a 1 man wrecking machine and he needs nobody by his side and wants nobody by his side. He is the WCW champion and nobody in the back can stop him!
The music hits and out comes former U.S. champion Sid Vicious! Having had issues with Vader recently, including the War Games match last night, some of the comments just now by Race may not be sitting well with him. He hops up to the apron and enters the ring requesting the mic.
Sid Vicious: Hold on 1 second here little man! You wanna talk War Games, you can say whatever the hell you want out here, but when you talk 5 on 1 and Vader needing nobody, it sounds to me like you're placing blame on me! Am I hearing that right? I want to remind you that it wasn't my decision to stay out of there until the end. If I had went in when I had wanted, we would've won the match. That's not my fault, that's yours!
Harley Race: Now hold on here 1 minute-
Sid Vicious: No! You wait. I'm done listening. Because of listening and hearing all these voices, I lost my U.S. title last week to some nobody. The only voice I need to listen to is the ones already in my head and they're telling me that I need more gold and the only gold I see out here right now is what's around your waist fat man.
Vader grabs Race's hand and pulls the mic up to him so he can respond to that.
Big Van Vader: Watch what you say! You talk to me, with respect. You talk to me, as champion. The WCW champion! The Heavyweight champion. Something you've never done. Something you, never will! You want to step up and challenge me, you will never. NEVER!, take this belt, from me.
Sid Vicious: Then forget about Sting. Forget about Flair. Give me the next shot if you think it'd be that easy. Give me the next shot and I promise you that you'll regret the day you ever laid eyes on Sid Vicious.
Harley Race: Hold on! You 2 are The Masters of The Power Bomb! You 2 together are the most unstoppable force in WCW. Nobody's saying it's your fault that we lost in the War Games Sid. Together the 2 of you could mop the floor with all 3 of them, that's how good you 2 are. If you want to hold this WCW title so bad, I'm sure Vader will let you walk it out to the ring for him on his defenses, I'm sure that-
Sid taking obvious offense to this suggestion grabs Race by the collar. Vader steps in and swipes away Sid's arms, and the 2 are now standing nose to nose, eye to eye. All hell seems about to break lose when ...
Ron Simmons: Isn't this interesting.
Simmons and Harlem Heat have emerged from the entrance, heading down the ramp and stopping half way to the ring.
Ron Simmons: I mean, I dunno. See you 2 wanna blame the 3 of us, but seems to me if you 2 had been on the same page, watching our backs and working as a team like you were supposed to. Seems to me, we could've won. See I damn sure know there ain't no way that either of these 2 here would've submitted to that Scorpion Deathlock, and me? Ain't no way anybody's ever getting any admission of surrender out of me. And if you want to talk that WCW title, need I remind you who was the man that took that belt off of you the first time last year? Oh, that's right. It was me now wasn't it? So if you 2 are about through with your little masquerade in the ring, I think it's about time you give me the shot I deserve at that belt. Give me the opportunity as, you know. Sort of a good will gesture after the 2 of you not being able to co exist, you cost the 3 of us a big pay day in the War Games.
Harley Race: Let me get this straight. You're saying that it's because of these 2 in the ring, these 2 mountains of men, that the 3 of you lost? Neither of them submitted, it was your worthless excuse of a protege there that did, and-
Booker T: Hey sucka! Man just gimme the word Ronnie boy and I'll bust through that boy.
Harley Race: Talk English. You know I should've known better than to sign on the dotted line with a bunch of worthless, illiterate, pieces of Harlem trash. You guys belong on the streets, not in a wrestling ring. This is for real men, men like Vader. And if you want a shot Simmons, get in line because it's a long 1. And as far as I'm concerned, as far as Vader's concerned, you're way at the back.
Ron Simmons: Is that right? Well maybe the 3 of us'll have to go in there and just take that belt, just because we can. If the man won't give us a far shot, we take what we want. C'mon.
J.J. Dillon: Wait! Hold on here gentlemen.
J.J. Dillon emerges from the back standing by the entrance.
J.J. Dillon: If the 5 of you are going to go at it in that ring, let's make it official. You all want to blame each other for last night's loss, well let's have ourselves a 3 on 2 handicap match in that ring. We all know that later on it'll be Sting against Ric Flair to figure out the #1 contender to that title belt right there, but that's for Halloween Havoc. You want the title Sid and you want the title Ron, well whichever team wins, you can bet this match will go a long way in deciding who gets the first shot after the Havoc. So in that ring tonight, it'll be Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat against Big Van Vader and Sid Vicious. Good luck gentlemen and lets put an end to all the name calling. These fans want to know just like I do, who was the weak link and we're going to find out later tonight.
Simmons and the Heat seem approving of this idea while Vader and Sid are less pleased with the idea. Commercial time.
-- First commercial break --
Eric Bischoff: Welcome back and if you're late joining us, you really missed a big opening to the show. Problems abound on the losing team of War Games last night, so much so that we've got a handicap match signed for tonight. Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat to take on The Masters of The Power Bomb 3 on 2, and hey, it's not like Vader and Sid are seeing eye to eye themselves. They have problems of their own to worry about. That is in addition to our main event when Sting battles The Nature Boy Ric Flair, winner to meet Vader at Halloween Havoc for the WCW title, lots going on tonight.
Larry Zbyszko: You need a scorecard to keep track of everything that's going on out here, but I'll tell you something I'm looking forward to. We'll get our first words from Cactus Jack, the man that was put out of action by Sid 4 months ago, returning last night to the win and playing a key part in the victory. If you're Sid, forget Vader, forget Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat, this is the guy I'd be worrying about because he isn't just here tonight to talk. He's out for revenge and don't be surprised if he comes looking for it before the night is over.
Eric Bischoff: He very well could. Cactus Jack known for being unpredictable every bit as Sid himself is. Also tonight in the ring, weeks of an unsigned contract by Barry Windham ended with The Diamond Studd signing it, well we thought Ice Train was going to put his name on the dotted line maybe. While it's not for the title, tonight we get that match. Ice Train looking to follow up on his big win last week with a match against The Lone Wolf. Not to mention the Nitro debut later tonight of Yoshi Kwan Brain.
Bobby Heenan: Did you see that match last night? That man was something else. I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw Van Hammer again and good riddance for that. What surprised me most though wasn't Kwan himself, it was the man behind the brawn. Harley Race. We've been talking about him non stop tonight, but you wanna mention his name, you can't leave Yoshi Kwan out of this conversation. He learned from the best on how to assemble a family and it might be a very long time before Vader's no longer champion when people are going to have go through Yoshi Kwan first.
Eric Bischoff: And we'll see what happens when he battles Johnny Gunn later tonight. Van Hammer, yeah. We might never see him again after what's been called the Sleeping Dragon, a dangerous nerve hold that we could see again right here tonight.
Larry Zbyszko: Not if Johnny Gunn has his way.
Eric Bischoff: Right now though, speaking of new faces, we got a look at some returning faces last night and Tony Schiavone's standing by with them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tony Schiavone: Thanks Eric. With me right now are Knobbs and Saggs, The Nasty Boys. Big win last night at Fall Brawl and for the first time it would seem that these fans are in your corner.
Knobbs: You know, we had a long travel to get back here to the WCW. All the way from Nastyville, it took us 4 months from Slamboree before we could return and that's because of hard style. We don't hold anything back, and when that happens, there's gonna be some bumps and bruises along the way. But just like The Hollywood Blonds found out last night, so too will every other team here in WCW because we want to get our hands on those tag team titles and it don't matter who stands in our way!
Tony Schiavone: Lots of tag teams in fact right now gunning for the top. As you mentioned The Hollywood Blonds, another team with a big win last night was 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Bagwell, the team they defeated in Bobby Eaton and Chris Benoit, Harlem Heat, The Z Man and Johnny Gunn, and let's not forget the prospect of a return by The Road Warriors.
Saggs: Yeah, we've got our work cut out for us, but that's alright. We aren't 1 to back down from any team. Any of those teams you named we'll take on. Anywhere, any place, any time. We just want the opportunity because if you line em up, we'll knock em down. We're coming all the way from Nastyville baby, nasty as we wanna be, and pretty soon The Nasty Boys will be the WCW Tag Team champions. Bet on it!
Tony Schiavone: Alright, Knobbs, Saggs, The Nasty Boys! Putting the rest of the tag teams here on notice that they are back. Right now let's get to the ring for our opening match here tonight as we send it to David Penzer.

A couple of debuting wrestlers in WCW tonight looking to put on a show in the opening match. Eric Bischoff continuously uses the buzz word "light heavyweight" and hints towards a possible revival of that division with 2 rivals that know each other well. For some history, Bischoff tells viewers that these 2 are familiar from a "small outfit" in Texas where they have had some incredible fast paced matches for a few hundred fans, and now is their chance to show it off on the big time that is WCW and Monday Nitro in front of tens of thousands here and millions more across the U.S. The names are The Lightning Kid and Jerry Lynn, with neither Larry Zbyszko or Bobby Heenan familiar with them. Heenan does get in some early comedy shots at Kid's size, wondering if he has a note from his teacher to be here tonight. Bischoff says that despite size, these 2 will do things nobody else can. As much as can be done in a 5 to 10 minute TV match. Both wrestlers look for the advantage early and exchange some quick holds and near falls that end with a stalemate as fans cheer. The wrestling continues with much more of the same with little time to even take in what is happening until a wristlock exchange. Lynn has the upperhand when Kid walks up the ropes, flipping off into a reversal. Lynn counters with the same, except into an armdrag takedown. Kid gets up and runs at Lynn who shoots him into the ropes and leap frogs over, dropping down for a monkey flip but Kid lands on his feet. When Lynn gets up, Kid fires off some stiff kicks to the midsection before a spinning kick sends Lynn out to the floor. Kid heads to the top rope and wows when he leaps down onto Lynn on the floor with a somersault spinning heel kick. The action heads back inside where Kid sends Lynn into the ropes, but he counters with a crucifix for a near fall. Getting back up, Lynn ducks Kid and goes to a sleeper hold. Before Kid can go out of it though, he backs Lynn up back first into the corner to break free. Kid quickly heads outside and goes back up top. Looking for a possible moonsault, Lynn is too quick and shoves him off the top rope to the floor. Lynn goes to the apron and waits for Kid to get up, springboarding off the ropes down onto Kid. The action goes back inside with Lynn looking to finish Kid off with an inverted piledriver, but Kid is able to reverse it. From there he quickly drops Lynn and covers to pick up the 3 count. An opener like nothing the 3 commentators have seen before, Bischoff thinks these 2 could redefine the light heavyweight division if it were to restart and viewers can expect more fast paced action like this in weeks to come, maybe from them, maybe others, as a lot of wrestlers want to get in the door here at WCW.
-- Second commercial break --
Tony Schiavone: Alright welcome back. I'm joined right now by a man that quite frankly needs no introduction, this is Sting! And Sting, big win for your team last night in War Games, but no time to rest on that because tonight you have a match with your co captain from that match, Nature Boy Ric Flair, the winner of which will go on to Halloween Havoc to challenge for the WCW title.
Sting: Can you feel it Tony? Can you feel it Cleveland, Ohio?! OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! This is what it's all about! Sting, Ric Flair, tonight, Monday Nitro, I love it! These fans love it and Tony, let's forget about the handicap match. Vader's Vader. We know it. He's big, he's bad, and he's the meanest guy in that locker room. Like a bull in a China shop, he is out to cause destruction. I've been in there with him before, but that's for after the match. For now, it's me and you Flair. Me and you. We never truly saw eye to eye and I think this is all about a boiling point. 1 of us goes on to Halloween Havoc, the other goes back to the drawing board. And I gotta tell ya, I'm sick and tired of the drawing board.
Tony Schiavone: It's been a while since we've seen the 2 of you battle. Some historic exchanges some years ago, including the first Clash of the Champions and also your first World title win.
Sting: Yeah, but that's all in the past. You don't keep moving forward by resting on yesterday. Just because I beat Flair 3 years ago, it doesn't mean anything about today. I gotta reprove myself day in and day out and that's what I'm gonna do tonight in the main event. And while I might not be able to trust Flair as a partner, I can respect him as an opponent in that ring. May the better man win Ric, and Vader, watch out. Watch out because Halloween Havoc's not far off and when I come out on top, I'm coming for what's mine. What I should have never lost. The WCW title. Be ready Vader, BE READY!
Tony Schiavone: Sting! Later tonight in the main event against Ric Flair. Right now Eric, back to you guys.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eric Bischoff: Thanks Tony, and we'll also hear from Ric Flair later tonight as well. Guys, what a match that'll be. I don't want to spend too much talking about it because there's so much else here to come tonight. How about that opener though? The Lightning Kid and Jerry Lynn, a couple guys from my old stomping grounds and both of yours too, the Minnesota area. Competed in Texas, and now here in WCW. 1 shot deal but with an impressive performance like that, wouldn't surprise me to see them back.
Bobby Heenan: Why is he called The Kid?
Eric Bischoff: I have no idea, maybe you should ask him yourself Brain.
Bobby Heenan: You know if Missy Hyatt interviewed him, it'd be illegal in 45 states. Kids shouldn't be in WCW. I'd never manage a guy like that because he has no patience. No maturity. He's probably out in the back celebrating his win with a juicebox or something. That's not my style.
Larry Zbyszko: He'd run circles around some of the guys you managed. I for 1 enjoyed the match. The Lightning Kid, called so because he lights up the ring with speed and agility. Gerald Lynn, just like the great Gerald Brisco, a name we may be hearing a lot from when his career is said and done years from now. WCW is turning a new leaf as of late and the old guard had better be prepared to fight for their spots because these new guys are out to take them.
Eric Bischoff: Just want to clarify, Jerry Lynn Legend.
Larry Zbyszko: That's what I said.
Eric Bischoff: Well anyway, right now more action, and another look at a newcomer to Nitro. 2 of them actually, although only 1 will be in action tonight. Let's get back to David Penzer for more action.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Cole Twins make their Nitro debut with singles action from Keith Cole while Kent Cole watches on from the outside. The commentators mention that these 2 are not WCW newcomers, having had some impressive outings on Saturday Night over on TBS. His opponent tonight is Scotty Flamingo, who seems to be having some hard luck as of late. In the last week, he was defeated by The Diamond Studd last Monday on Nitro, laid out by Barry Windham on Saturday Night, and defeated by Johnny B. Badd at Fall Brawl. To say he has a bad week would be an understatement. Nothing quite on the level of the opener, in fact nothing remotely on the level of the opener serving as just being a step above a squash match. Flamingo dominates most of the match, save some offense by Keith Cole. Rather than setup for the piledriver though, he decides to throw down Keith and just slap him around a bit. The referee gets in Flamingo's face for that, warning him, meanwhile The Coles make a quick switch! Larry Zbyszko asks if anybody saw that, Bobby Heenan responding with a joke about "the broad in the third row", to which Zbyszko clarifies. Flamingo goes over to the fresh Cole and gets small packaged quickly for a surprise 3 count! Keith Cole is announced as the winner, meanwhile it was Kent Cole that did the work, but the referee is none the wiser. Flamingo can not believe this and has a look of complete bewilderment on his face following that, a somewhat embarrassing defeat.
-- Third commercial break --
Eric Bischoff: Alright welcome back. In just a minute we're going to take a look at Yoshi Kwan here, our first look at him but before we get to that guys, wanna go back to last night. TV title match, Lord Steven Regal defending against Ken Shamrock, and a lot of people thought this was the night for Shamrock. Undefeated in WCW, gone through everybody so far, but a surprising turn of events and it was not to be. Missy Hyatt'll get to the bottom of Regal's new partnership, but Shamrock's done. He's gonna be out indefinitely after a post match attack and it wouldn't shock me if we never saw him again here.
Bobby Heenan: And that's how it should be. If you can't cut the mustard here, quit wasting our time. Lord Steven's on another level from Shamrock. Was he good? Sure, but he's no Lord Steven Regal. And now this other guy, Terra Ryzing, he's aligned himself with the TV champion and if Regal takes him under his wing, he could be a force here.
Eric Bischoff: We don't know that yet though Brain. Something we do know is that Sir William is out.
Larry Zbyszko: Sir William's been out a while if you ask me. I don't quite know what this guy's deal is, but he's on another planet. But at the same time, as long as he's going after Regal, he's alright in my books. I don't know where this whole thing's going, but I think Regal may have underestimated his former butler and could be in for a big shock.
Eric Bischoff: Indeed he could. Alright, Missy Hyatt, WCW's investigative reporter is standing by in the ring hoping to get some answers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Missy Hyatt: Thanks Eric. I'm here now with Lord Steven Regal, and last night at Fall Brawl, we saw you get help from an unexpected source. Fans want to know, what is the relationship between the 2 of you?
Steven Regal: Yes, I'm sure fans everywhere would like to know. It's quite typical of the American wrestling fan, always needing to know everything and never being content with some mystery to their goings on. Fortunately for them, there is no mystery about Ken Shamrock and just as I had predicted a week ago, he's finished and done. Supposedly a chance injury, but if you ask me and my opinion, I'm pretty sure that's all a cover up and the man is just afraid. As he should be. This man right here, he's been brought on to watch my back in ways that Sir William never could. Look at the difference between the 2, and in exchange for that, I've offered to turn him into 1 of the premiere wrestling machines in not only WCW, but the entire world. You fans may think of him as Terra Ryzing, but from here on out I want him addressed by his proper name, Jean Paul Levesque.
Missy Hyatt: John Paul Levitt? What? That's confusing.
Steven Regal: Of course it is. To you Missy, a chicken not crossing a road would confuse you. It's not "John" as you Americans would say, rather Jean.
Missy Hyatt: Like Jennifer? I don't get it.
Steven Regal: NO! Jean, like Jean Paul Levesque! It's really not that difficult, so I'd suggest you take that tone and-
Jean Paul Levesque (speaking in faux French accent): Calm down your Lordship, calm down. I think what Mr. Regal here is trying to get across is that it's quite typical of your kind. A typical woman to not understand what is going on around her, she needs everything explained to her, so let me draw it out for you. I am used to the finer things in the world. The finest women, finest wines, finest dining. That is why I am here and why I am with Lord Steven. Together we will dominate the, how you say, WCW, and it will not be long before I have championship gold of my own.
Missy Hyatt: Finer things in life huh? I guess that's why your out here with me.
Steven Regal: Haha, no, I think you're misunderstood on that 1. Trollops like yourself are simply a dime a dozen and to call yourself anything more would just be perpetrating a falsehood on these wrestling fans. But I guess they are rather fond of your blond hair and your ... whatever you call those. You should cover yourself up before you catch a cold.
Missy Hyatt: You pervert! How dare you-
Steven Regal: I was talking about your ears. Have you no sense!
Missy Hyatt: I have enough sense to knock you upside the head right now. You think you're just so-
Sir William comes into view, interrupting that exchange.
Steven Regal: Oh dear. This night is just turning into a nightmare of epic proportions. Next you'll tell me that the Iron Lady is back in office as prime minister.
Missy Hyatt: Well I'm glad to see him. Finally a real man out here.
Sir William: Missy, I gotta tell ya something. For the past year I've been walking around mumbling and bumbling like a bloody fool and it was all because of this man right here. Lord Steven Regal is no more a lord than Bobby Heenan is a brain over there on commentary. Let me tell ya folks, all I need is 1 chance and I can whoop you in that ring brotha. Regal man, the only reason you have that TV title is because of me outside that ring brotha. I won you that belt and without me and this chump in my place, there's no way you'll hold onto it. No way you'll even beat me.
Steven Regal: You are right on 1 thing, there's no way I'll ever beat you because we will never be wrestling. You don't belong in the same ring as me, and from the sounds of it, you should probably get your head checked while you're at it. Now you all know why I forbade this man from speaking, sounds like a bloody imbecile when he opens that mouth of his. It's like I told you last week, you're no longer a Sir and don't deserve that title, you-
Sir William: You're right there man. I don't want anybody out here calling me Sir anything brotha, what I want is for them to call me The Superstar cause that's what I am. And I just want 1 chance right here tonight to get you in that ring, and I'll show everybody here that the only reason you had me by your side was cause it meant you wouldn't have to face me. You were scared then and you're even more scared now.
Steven Regal: Scared of you? Have you bloody well lost it man?
Jean Paul Levesque: Hold on. Since it is clear that you do not deserve a match with Lord Steven, I will do us both a favor tonight. I will wrestle you and not only give these people here in Cleveland something they don't deserve, but I will eradicate you from WCW just like Lord Steven did to Ken Shamrock last night. So I'd suggest you go back there and get ready because later tonight, you'll be getting the wrestling lesson of a lifetime and it's only a 1 match course.
Sir William: Hey brotha, I'll take it! And after I get through whooping your scrawny behind, Lordie Boy over here, you'd better be ready cause I'm gonna be comin' for you and that TV title of yours.
"Sir" William leaves with Regal and Levesque seemingly unimpressed about this turn of events.
Missy Hyatt: Alright, looks like we have ourselves a match for tonight. Stay tuned because, ummm, you 2 can leave me alone now. We'll be right back with more Nitro here on TNT. Go on, shoe! Get out of here!

Following up on last night's big debut at Fall Brawl, Yoshi Kwan is out with manager Harley Race for his Nitro debut against Johnny Gunn. Little is known about the man from Hong Kong except that he not only defeated Heavy Metal Van Hammer in impressive fashion last night, but according to the commentators he is out of action indefinitely due to nerve damage suffered from The Sleeping Dragon. Eric Bischoff asks Larry Zbyszko to explain the science behind the hold leading to Zbyszko giving a confusing diatribe about nerve endings and pressure points, leading Bobby Heenan to say that the explanation makes sense because that alone is enough to put people to sleep. Gunn comes out and despite a look of caution, goes in without fear. Gunn holds his own, but it is only so long until Kwan starts to get the better of him. A punishing offense follows, but Gunn does not go down so easily. He fights back and even hits a dropkick to take Kwan down, but his cover leads to a 0 count as Kwan gets out before even a 1. Back up, Gunn continues but gets caught by a spinning back kick to the head. Kwan quickly brings Gunn up and locks in the Sleeping Dragon, dropping Gunn to the mat and leading to victory. Kwan does not immediately release the hold prompting calls of "we get it" from Bischoff and "enough is enough" from Zbyszko. Race gets Kwan to release it. They wonder though if the damage has been done because Gunn is not moving. They think that Kwan could potentially be the most dangerous wrestler in all of WCW because of this hold and how it seems to paralyze opponents. Help is on its way before going to the final commercial before hour 2 kicks off when Nitro returns with The Nature Boy Ric Flair.
-- Fifth commercial break --
