Lance Russell & Dave Brown welcome us all to yet another exciting action packed morning here today on Championship Wrestling! We've got a HUGE show this week with the NWA Champion: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat in the house! We'll also be taking a look back at this Monday Night, and we've got huge news as The Fantastics are the NEW USWA Tag Team Champions so we'll be showing you footage from that match in Louisville!

We're back and we're about to see Koko B. Ware in action, so Lance is joined by Koko at the podium. The talk immediately turns to last Monday Night when Koko's buddy was run out of town by Wolfie D. & New Jack. Lance mentions that a very special match takes place this Monday Night when Koko battles Wolfie D, and if he wins he gets 5 minutes with New Jack immediately following the fall.
Koko B. Ware: " Russell these two guys think they're big and bad 'cause they took food off the plate of Brickhouse Brown... they come on out here they talk about the streets, well this ain't the streets this is pro rasslin' and I'm fixing to teach those two rookies a thing or two 'bout to pro rasslin' business if yah know what I mean!"
Lance Russell: " Oh I think I know what you're getting at Koko! Let's see what you can do right here today..."
And we're to the ring for our opening contest!

Match itself is all Koko, but the real story is what happens as Koko Ware sets up on the top rope. New Jack & Wolfie D strike with Jack shoving Koko off the top rope causing the DQ at just 2:35.

Post Match- Jack's got that black jack and WHAMO right to the back of the head of Koko Ware! Wolfie bust out the spray paint, but here comes the baby faces: Danny Davis & Marcus Bagwell, as the heels quickly roll to the outside before Koko can get tagged up. Russell is disgusted, but a FIRED up NEW JACK has something to say!
New Jack: " What ya'll see right there is just the beginning of a whole lotta bumps and lumps...a whole lotta trips to the hospital for Koko Ware! Lance & Dave are surprised to see Taylor lead to the ring by Paul E. Davis tries to ignore it however as he extends a hand to Taylor at the start of the bout, only to be left high and dry. Super fun little match, it's bouts like this that truly capture the Southern feel, no doubt. They trade control for a bit, but in the end Paul E. plays difference maker on the apron causing a distraction that allows Taylor to catch Davis off guard with the Flying Fivearm for the tainted victory at 5:45.

After the match Lance takes to the podium for words from Paul E. & the newest member of the Dangerous Alliance: Terry Taylor.
Lance Russell: " Good way to kick off a return to the area for Terry Taylor here today, defeating Danny Davis with that Flying Five Arm of his, albeit with a little bit of help from Paul E....... Here we go..."
Paul E. Dangerously & "Terrific" Terry Taylor join Lance at the podium.
Lance Russell: " And here it is, the moment I've been dreading all week... "
Paul E. Dangerously: " I assure you that the feeling is mutual Lance Russell. Talk about a good day for the Dangerous Alliance, eh? Not only does Austin Idol have a match with Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat, but look at this man.. 'Terrific' Terry Taylor is back in Memphis, and it's on MY DIME, the newest member of the Dangerous Alliance. "
Lance Russell: " Don't go counting your chickens before they hatch their Mr. Dangerously, I have it on good authority that Eddie Marlin's announcement coming up in just a short while has a lot to do with you and your Dangerous Alliance. "
Paul E Dangerously: " Why what did you hear? "
Lance Russell: " Hey now, my lips are staying shut it's not my business to go spilling, I'll leave that to Eddie Marlin... "
Paul E. Dangerously: " You know Lance, you never change... without a shadow of a doubt the most bias commentator in the business.. I'll play the game, I'll wait and see what Eddie Marlin has to say... but even Eddie Marlin has to realize this... I've got MORE MONEY, MORE CAPITAL than that man has ever seen, and a million dollar legal team to go right along with it. "
Terry Taylor: "I can't believe this guy.. Lance, quit starting trouble and listen up... Now, I'd say it feels great to be back in Memphis, but by the looks of things not much has changed... still the same dirty, unwashed, poor inbreeds coming on out to the TV... but 'yah know what does feel great Paul? Being here as a part of such an esteem group as the Dangerous Alliance, keeping company with guys like 'Hot Stuff' Eddie Gilbert & Austin Idol, if there's one thing my daddy always said yah judge a man by the company he keeps, and I'm proud to say I'm in good company. "
Paul E. : " And we're not even finished yet... you see Terry Taylor is what we in the industry call a *TAG TEAM SPECIALIST*, sure he's held just as many singles titles as he's held tag titles, but you put this man in there with the right talent and it's a GUARANTEED WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM... and I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've come to Memphis straight from NEW YORK CITY with a bankroll as big as the day is long, so what we're going to do is find this man the FINEST TAG TEAM PARTNER that MONEY CAN BUY.. and then Fantastics... man, you talk about a great team, new USWA Tag Team Champions, and deservedly so... but FANTASTICS just like I told the King, it's like the song says, YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET, haha! Paul E. hands over the microphone to Russell.. eying him down in the process, before taking off.
Lance Russell: " I don't know about all that but what I will say is this Terry Taylor is one heck of an athlete that's for sure. Fans when we'll be taking a look back at this past Monday Night's USWA title bout as well as talking to Eddie Marlin! "

Lance is joined by USWA match maker Eddie Marlin at the podium. Eddie's got a shocking announcement to make but first we're taking you back to this past Monday Night at the Mid South Coliseum. Bam Bam Bigelow challenged for the USWA Heavyweight Championship against "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert, but of course Austin Idol would get involved.

And it's of Eddie bouncing around and taking quite the beating at the hands of Bam Bam. Bigelow scores with the Big Splash, and here comes Austin Idol with a steel chair to break up the count just before 3! Jerry Lawler is out for the save, as the heels bail. BUT LOOK AT THIS, Bammer comes to life and see's the King holding that chair, and he's NOT HAPPY! We get some crude language (bleeped here of course) from Bammer who ends up storming out. Roughly 2 and 1/2 minutes is shown here.

Lance Russell: " There you have it, the Dangerous Alliance help save the title for Eddie Gilbert. "
Eddie Marlin: " Seems to be the standard around here these days, and Lance I'm not gonna stand for it. Now as you know I've signed a rematch this up coming Monday Night at the Coliseum, with Bam Bam Bigelow once again challenging for the USWA Heavyweight Title. I could just ban Austin Idol from interfering, but I understand Paul E. Dangerously got others behind him who could just as easily show up and ruin Bam Bam Bigelows title match. So in the interest of fairness I've appointed a referee that the people of Memphis should really get behind.... Monday Night at the Mid South Coliseum, Jerry 'the King' Lawler is going to be the SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE for Bam Bam Bigelow and Eddie Gilbert's title match!"
Lance Russell: " Talk about a block buster announcement.... and HERE comes trouble... "
Eddie Gilbert is out with Paul E. Dangerously. Paul is literally trying to hold him back, asking him not to do anything stupid as he gets right in Marlin's face. Lance even steps up telling him to calm down.
Eddie Gilbert: " CALM DOWN! CALM DOWN! I'M NOT CALMING DOWN! EDDIE MARLIN YOU'RE TRYING TO SABOTAGE ME, YOU'RE TRYING TO RUIN ME... THERE IS NO WAY, NO FREAKING WAY JERRY LAWLER'S GONNA CALL THIS THING DOWN THE MIDDLE! "
Paul E (holding him back): " Easy there champ... (Paul E. then gets right in Eddie Marlin's face) I'm only saying this ONCE, if there is even a hint of bias towards my client, the USWA Heavyweight Champion, then Marlin I'll SUE YOU, I'LL SUE JERRY JARRETT, I'LL SUE JERRY LAWLER, FOR EVERY LAST PENY YOU'RE WORTH... IT'LL BE THE END OF THE USWA, AND YOU KNOW I HAVE THE CAPITAL TO DO IT! "
Paul E. motions for Eddie to leave, they walk off with Eddie still ranting and raving that it's not fair.
Eddie Marlin: " I figured that's the reaction I'd get Lance, but I'll tell 'yah what I've giving Jerry a good talking to, and you can rest assured he's gonna call this one right down the middle. There ain't no one else like the King, the most reliable and honest person I know. The King says he's gonna call it fair, he's gonna call it fair, but rest assured if ANYONE from the Dangerous Alliance should get involved I've given the King clearance to take matters into his own hands, if 'yah know what I mean. "
Lance Russell: " I think I do! Fan's we're taking a break when we return JERRY LAWLER will be in action, and I'm sure he's got a lot to say about Monday Night! BUT FIRST we've got the Bruise Brothers standing by with these pre-recorded comments about Monday Night's big cage match against the Disciples! "

Ron Harris: " Payne, Demolisher we FINALLY got ya'll right where we want you! No way Van Horne's getting involved when you're locked inside that there still cage! "
Don Harris: " It's just you, and us... and the safe bet is us... we're fixing on putting a hurt on both you big boys, real, real good. No where to run, no where to hide... Monday Night we're busting yah up BRUISE BROTHERS STYLE.. and ya'll can take that TO THE BANK! "

We're back and Lance is joined by the King, Jerry Lawler!
Lance Russell: " Before we get down to business King, we saw the footage earlier of your run in with Bam Bam Bigelow, but that wouldn't be the only run in with Bigelow you'd have that night, let's roll the tape."

And it's the final moments of Lawler/Abdullah the Butcher. The referee is down and who should TRY to get involved but Austin Idol & Eddie Gilbert of course. AND here comes BAM BAM BIGELOW for the save. The phone ends up in the King's hand and he whallops Abdullah with it not once, but twice sending him crashing to the canvas! Second rope phone shot does it for Abdullah, but the REAL STORY comes after the match, where Bam Bam Bigelow shoves the King to the canvas!

Lance Russell: " A big mess this Monday Night, one big misunderstanding between you in Bam Bam Bigelow. "
Jerry "the King" Lawler: " That's the thing Lance, it's all just one big misunderstanding. I'd say Bam Bam Bigelow overreacted just a tad, but I've been there myself, I know how it is. Tensions run high around here, especially when it involves the USWA Heavyweight Championship. "
Lance Russell: " Here he comes now, maybe you two can work this thing all out..."
Bam Bam Bigelow arrives on the set, he doesn't look to happy.
Lance Russell: " How about it Bigelow, is it all water under the bridge now that it's out there, and you've seen the footage? "
Bam Bam Bigelow: " Is it all water under the bridge? Jerry do I look like the kind of guy who apologizes? The kind of guy who's says he's sorry and settles things with a hand shake? "
Jerry Lawler: " Hey, hey easy there now Bam Bam... we've been through this before.. we've been partners, we've been oppenents we've done it all here in Memphis, there's no need to go down that road all over again big man...."
Bam Bam Bigelow: " Or what? You'll help Gilbert win Monday Night?! You'll toss fire in my face like you did back in 1988? OR WHAT KING? I know YOU DIDN'T hit me with a chair, sure the footage tells that... but guess what? IT DOESN'T MATTER! As long as we're BOTH gunning for the USWA Heavyweight Championship, we're not friends, we're not buddies... YOU GET IN MY WAY AGAIN LAWLER and they'll be hell to pay! "
Jerry Lawler: " You done yet? You know Bam Bam, it's funny you mention me helping Eddie Gilbert out... see Eddie Gilbert and Paul E. Dangerously seem to think I'm gonna help YOU out, but I'm saying this here and now, as GOD as my whitness, I'm calling it RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE Monday Night. See Jerry Jarrett & Eddie Marlin are counting on me, and I'm not about to let them, or anyone down... but BIG MAN, if fighting me is a road you're looking to go down yet again, then JUST NAME THE TIME AND THE PLACE.. see I don't take to kindly to you, or ANYONE ELSE around here questioning my integrity!"
Bam Bam Bigelow: " You (pressing his finger against the King's chest) BETTER STAY OUT OF MY WAY!"
Jerry Lawler: " Don't touch me, DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME..."
Bam Bam smiles..
Bam Bam Bigelow: " Yah know something man, maybe now isn't the time or the place, but real, real soon you're gonna learn first hand that Bam Bam Bigelow ISN'T the same KID you threw fire at... "
Jerry Lawler: " We'll just have to wait and see about that, now won't we? "
Lance Russell: " Okay, okay... let's not get carried away with ourselves here, the King has a match right now in that ring... we don't need any trouble here..."
Bam Bam shoots Lance a nasty stare, points at Lawler stating SOONER THAN LATER IT'S ME AND YOU, before walking off.
Jerry Lawler: " Maybe, just maybe Eddie Gilbert was right about him... BODY LIKE A DINOSAUR, BRAIN THE SIZE OF A PEA..."
Lance Russell: " I sure hope he didn't hear that.... "

This is one I'd like to see re-visited with more time down the line. It's great for what it is, but it's kept short. Even still Candido continues to show star potential at such a young age. They work it as if it's King Vs. Gilbert in there but minus the blood. Candido bumps like crazy near the end, Lawler with a few uppercuts floors Chris... but TONY RUMBLE attacks from behind drawing the DQ at the 4 minute mark!

Post Match- Two on one in there but HERE COMES BRIAN CHRISTOPHER! Christopher scores with a superkick flooring Candido! King with a huge Lawler style right hand sends Rumble to the canvas! Lawler & Christopher stand tall! Brian Christopher raises the King's hand high in the air to a round of applause before joining Lance Russell at the podium. Candido is still in the ring being comforted by "Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble.
Lance Russell: " Thank goodness for Brian Christopher! "
Brian Christopher: " You know you can always depend on me to help out a friend in need, and that's just what we saw here... look at this guy Lance? "
Candido's throwing a temper tantrum.
Brian Christopher: " HEY.. HEY Candido.... HOW STUPID can you be man? EVEN A BLIND MAN can see that your GIRLFRIEND over there's more trouble than he's worth... "
Rumble shouts that he's not his girlfriend...
Brian Christopher: " Why don't you leave that RAT at home Monday Night, and take me on one on one, no funny stuff... no cheap tricks.. let's just see WHO the better man is... huh? "
Candido comes to the podium now, with Rumble pleading with him not to do anything stupid...
Chris Candido: " Tony, you've been a big help... and I'm not saying I don't appreciate it... but maybe, just maybe this Brian's right... maybe I don't need you out there Monday Night... I'm not saying your fired or anything... but Monday Night, just leave it to me... "
Tony Rumble: " You're gonna listen to this bum? He's just trying to work you up brutha.."
Chris Candido: " No... no.. Tony he's right... I would've beaten him if you didn't get involved back on Memorial Day.. IKNOWITHEKNOWSITLANCEKNOWSITANDEVENYOUKNOW IT..."
Rumble starts rubbing Candido's shoulders..
Tony Rumble: " See Brutha.. he's got you all worked up..."
Brian Christopher: " No Tony, YOU'VE GOT HIM ALL WORKED UP... I ain't asking for a lot, I'm just asking for Chris to MAN UP for once..."
Candido shoves Rumble aside...
Chris Candido: " Are you saying I'm not a man?? AREYOUSAYINGI'MNOTMANENOUGHTOBEATYOU? I'M MORE OF A MAN THEN... THEN... YOU'LL EVER BE... I ALMOSTBEATTHEKINGJUSTLIKEIALMOSTBEAT YOU!"
Candido is breathing heavy now, face all red.
Brian Christopher: " I'm saying a REAL MAN doesn't hide BEHIND whatever (points to Rumble) HE'S SUPPOSE TO BE..."
Tony Rumble: " Easy Chris.. easy... (holding Candido back) "
Chris Candido: " YOUKNOWWHATPUNK... YOU'RE ON! MONDAY NIGHT, TONY'S GOT THE NIGHT OFF... it's just ME AND YOU..."
Tony Rumble: " You're making a mistake..."
Chris Candido: " It's MY MISTAKE TO MAKE... "
Candido walks off with Tony Rumble pleading with him.
Lance Russell: " So there you have it fans, a fair fight this Monday for the USWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship..."
Brian Christopher: " That's the way it should always be, Lance...Monday Night the whole world will see that Chris Candido is a LOSER both with and without Tony Rumble! Hahaha"

We're back and Lance Russell is joined by the new USWA Tag Team Champions: Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers the Fantastics! After a quick congratulations Lance shows them the footage of their title win.

And we're joined in progress from this past Tuesday in Louisville as the Fantastics challenged the Disciples for the gold. Brief clips of the Bruise Brothers chasing Daryl Van Horne away leading to Demolisher arming himself with the tag belt and taking out Fulton, BUT BAM Rogers comes in off the top with the cross body block to win the gold!

The Fantastics thank the Bruise Brothers and tell Lance they're looking forward to seeing Don & Ron take it to the Disciples in the cage. Talk then turns to this Monday's match against the Tennessee Vols., Tommy mentions they've got a set of tag belts themselves but doesn't mention KAW by name. He puts them over as a solid team, Fulton joins in promising a win, and promising to defend the USWA Tag Team Titles against any and all comers. Generic baby face stuff as per usual. And it's to the ring for the Fantastics in action!

The Destroyers attack before the bell sounds. They irish whip both men into the ropes but are caught off guard by a pair of flying back elbows from the new champions. Yeah that sets up the finish in just over 30 seconds as one of the Destroyers ends up getting pinned off the Rocket Launcher immediately. The Champs with a quick win!
Your Winners: " The Fantastics in 0:40 via pinfall. "
Fantastics make a quick exit, and we're going back to back with MORE tag team action as the Disciples are in action! Van Horne leads the now former champions to the ring, but first we stop by the podium to talk to Lance. Lance mentions that he's surprised to see Daryl and his Disciples in seemingly good spirits here today on TV.
Daryl Van Horne: " I should be upset, I should be shaken, at the crimes committed against MY Disciples, and yet I stand here filled with sheer joy... I bet it should come as a surprise to you Lance Russell. "
Lance Russell: " You're telling me, the fact is YOU SHOULD be shaken at the fact that the Fantastics are now the USWA Tag Team Champions... nothing to be happy about, as far as you're concerned about that..."
Daryl Van Horne: " You see Lance, I'm just FULL of surprises. I stand here in a state of joy, along side my MONSTERS PAYNE & DEMOLISHER... because I was wrong... I had it all wrong... you see the PATH TO THE END OF TIMES shall not be paved in gold, it shall be PAVED IN THE BLOOD OF MORTAL MEN... THE BLOOD of the Brothers Bruise..."
Lance Russell: " You're of course referring to the up coming cage match this Monday Night at the Coliseum against the Bruise Brothers... I don't see how you can sit here and be happy about that, 'cause that cage is going to keep YOU out Daryl Van Horne..."
Daryl Van Horne: " The last thing Don & Ron should be worried about is little 'ol me Lance....ohh the road... the road to redemption... the road of dispair.. is it worth it? Haha... How about it Lance, is it worth it? The clock ticks, DOOMSDAY shall be upon us soon... we WILL welcome him in their BLOOD... our vengeance will NOT BE JUST, but it will certainly be WITHOUT MERCY... tick, tock.. tick tock... 1st Fall- Bagwell gets the better of Gilbert on a few exchanges, and surprisingly both Paul & Eddie seem impressed by the kid in there. Gilbert goes to the eyes, one of the many great equalizers to regain control. Marcus comes back after Eddie misses a second rope elbow drop! Fisherman's suplex connects, but Paul E. distracts the official leading to Eddie kicking out of Marcus' pet move moments later! Gilbert reaches into his tights and we've got another great equalizer as Eddie pulls out a chain! Right hand is DUCKED under back suplex attempt and there's that chain right between the eyes of Bagwell! Eddie lands on top for the tainted victory in the first fall at 6:29!

Bagwell is slow to his feet after taking a shot with that chain, but the kid shows tremendous heart as he pulls himself to a vertical base, again Paul E. & Eddie seem impressed. Gilbert screams into the camera that he's the REAL KING of Memphis as we head to break, when we return we'll wrap things up with a run down of what we've seen here this morning.

Back for the recap. Our opening match saw Koko Ware defeat Bobby Knight via disqualification when Wolfie D & New Jack got involved at 2:35. "Terrific" Terry Taylor, the newest member of the Dangerous Alliance picked up a tainted victory in his return to the area, pinning "Nightmare" Danny Davis with the Five Arm at 5:45. Jerry Lawler picked up a DQ victory over "Suicide Blonde" Chris Candido thanks to Tony Rumble, total time on that one was 4:01. The first of two tag team matches saw newly crowned USWA Tag Team Champions: The Fantastics score an easy victory with that Rocket Launcher of theirs over the Super Destroyers in just 40 seconds! The Disciples followed things up with an easy victory over Chris Hamrick & David Young with that double team of theirs at just 2:32. Bill Dundee retained his TV5 Championship over Rod the Bodyguard, with some help from Jeff Jarrett at 8:59. NWA World Champion Ricky Steamboat with a quick victory over Shaun Summers after coming in off the top rope, time on that one was 2:09. And in our main event, a tremendous effort from Marcus Bagwell against the USWA Champion: Eddie Gilbert, but as you saw he came up short thanks to that steel chain of "Hot Stuff", with just one fall the time was 6:29.
