Lance Russell & Dave Brown open things up with the huge news, the unthinkable has happened as "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol & USWA Heavyweight Champion: "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert have OFFICIALLY joined forces against "The King" Jerry Lawler. We'll be hearing from "Hot Stuff" & Idol in just a few short minutes. Later on in the show we're told we have a some pre-recorded words from the "Mystery Partner" who will be teaming with the King this Monday Night (Memorial Day) at the Mid South Coliseum AGAINST Gilbert & Idol. Right now let's run down the show:

Lance: " Now we're going to show you the footage a little later on, but I've just gotta ask the question... why would you Austin Idol, lower yourself to associating with the USWA Champion? You told the world seven short days ago it was all about the USWA Heavyweight Championship, and yet here you are on the very same page with the Champion working together... "
Eddie Gilbert: " You know Russell I should of known you'd already look to drive a wedge between me and my NEW FRIEND here... "
Austin Idol: " Easy there Eddie, I'll field this one. The fact remains daddy, I don't have to answer to these people, or to the wrestling world, BUT you know what? I'm going to open up right here on TV anyway JACK, and I'll answer your question. Fact remains, YES I said this was all about the USWA Heavyweight Championship, and at the end of the day that's exactly what it's all about. WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT, Eddie and myself will HAVE that conversation but RIGHT here and NOW .. well let's just say sometimes you've gotta sacrifice the needs of the individual for the needs of the whole. "
Lance Russell: " Just what in the world are you talking about? "
Austin Idol: " For months and months Jerry Lawler came out here in front of these people and REFUSED to fight Austin Idol, he showed the world his true colors.. he was far more coward than King, and you know what? These people can't see it, Eddie Marlin can't see it, and NOTHING WILL CHANGE around here UNLESS SOMEONE... or should I say (smiling with a hint of laughter) SOMEONES do something about it. That's exactly what this union is ALL about Lance Russell, revealing just what KIND OF MAN Jerry Lawler REALLY IS! Taking the fight to the KING and whoever he reaches out till, to Lawler ain't got no life in him at all, daddy! "
Lance Russell: " It amazes me, it really does. It seems like your forgetting that there just is no quitting when it comes to Jerry Lawler. All you've guys have gone and done is made him angry, and I for one know he's fixing to get his hands on BOTH of you sooner rather than later! In fact, this Monday Night it'll be both you and Austin Idol in the main event taking on the King and his mystery partner... "
Eddie Gilbert: " I guess we're supposed to be scared, eh Lance? Who's the King going to get? Bill Dundee? There about as tight as Cain was to Able... KOKO WARE? PLEASE, as good as KOKO is, we're just that much better. What I'm trying to say Lance, it doesn't matter WHO the Kingfish gets to be his partner, you're looking at the TRUE KINGS of MEMPHIS right here and now! And mark my words Lance, there's A WHOLE LOT MORE OF US to COME! HAHA! "
Idol & Gilbert walk off, proud of themselves.
Lance Russell: " Well that remains to be seen for sure. Fans don't touch that dial 'cause when we return we'll be hearing from 'Simply Irresistable' Jeff Jarrett, and we'll see the television debut of Rod the Bodyguard! "

We're back and in just a few moments we're going to see the Championship Wrestling debut of Billy Joe Travis' personal body guard Rod, but first we've got "Simply Irresistible"Jeff Jarrett, with these pre-recorded comments and an update on his condition!

Jeff Jarrett: " I want to first thank the USWA for sending a camera man up my way to get a few things off my chest. First things first, it should come to no surprise to anyone out there that vacating the TV5 Championship was the last thing I ever wanted to happen. I set out to be a fighting champion, and sadly thanks to Billy Joe Travis and that guitar of his, I was forced to vacate the title after just one title defense. Now as far as my health's concerned, I suffered a minor concussion, which thank goodness wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I'm going to have a miss a few weeks. Not a month, not a year, just a few short weeks. Eddie Marlin has promised me a shot at the TV5 Championship the second I'm cleared for action, AND I look forward to it. Bill Dundee, I've known you since I was a boy, and tell yah what I was happy as happy can be to see you stick it to Billy Joe Travis and win the TV5 Championship, I can only hope you're still champion when I come back, 'cause if so the fans of Championship Wrestling are in for one hell of a match! And Billy Joe Travis, little birdie told me you've got a return match for the title right here next week, well I might not be cleared to 'rassle but that's not gonna stop me from showing up on this program next week and CHEERING MY HEART out for Billy Dundee! I just hope he leaves some scraps for 'Simply Irresistible' 'cause I FULLY intend to put a WORLD of HURTING on you when I come back! "

Talk turns to the battle royal for the title shot, and they'd both love the chance to tackle Eddie Gilbert and singles glory. Lance is happy to have them back, but we're going to break. Lance mentions we'll be hearing from the King a little later, as both he and Dave Brown put over just how impressive it is, the World Champion doesn't come to Memphis every day, and he's coming this Monday Night to team with the King!
Austin Idol & Eddie Gilbert are BACK out to ringside for a rebuttal, they're damn happy! A chance to face off against the world champion? That's just great! Eddie adds that it just may be time to introduce "phase 2" this Monday Night at the Coliseum. Idol seems to agree. Lance questions it, but they walk off with no answers giving.

We're back and it's time for one of our featured matches as Bill Dundee puts the TV5 Championship on the line against 1/2 of the USWA Tag Team Champions: Maxx Payne. Van Horne and BOTH his Disciples are in the ring, where Daryl request the microphone.
Daryl Van Horne: " Can you hear it? KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK.. it's the sound of opportunity... it beats on and on like the drums in time of war! This is our chance to add to our collection, our OPPORTUNITY for more offerings to present at the feet of he who shall lay waste to this world! Bill Dundee, a valiant warrior you may be, but I'm afraid you'll find that here today on TV you'll come up SHORT against MY MAXX PAYNE. LOOK INTO HIS EYES, come on camera man, GET UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL with the EMPTYNESS that is MAXX PAYNE's STARE... THIS was NO EASY TASK TO ACHIEVE, he's GIVEN UP EVERYTHING IN THE NAME OF DOOMSDAY, and what LIES BEFORE YOU, STARING BLANKLY, IS FAR MORE MONSTER THAN MAN. Van Horne hands the microphone back to Corey Macklin. And we're to the podium where Lance puts over Daryl and his crew as and odd bunch for sure, before welcoming the TV5 Champion: "Superstar" Bill Dundee! Dundee shouts some words in the Disciples & Daryl's direction before joining Lance for some quick words.
Lance Russell: " Superstar you've got quite the challenge a head of you in just a few short moments with Maxx Payne in there.. "
Bill Dundee: " He's a big boy for sure, but as that crackpot Van Horne said he's empty, and what that means to the Superstar is, he ain't got the HEART to take this title away from me! "
Lance Russell: " Now before this big time match starts, I've gotta ask you if you heard what both Jeff Jarrett & Billy Joe Travis had to say earlier in the program. "
Bill Dundee: " Yeah, yeah.. Billy Joe was crying, and Jeff, well I've gotta agree with Jeff, I'm hoping he comes back in and challenges for this title as I'm sure the fans would love to see it. BUT BILLY JOE, after I'm threw with Maxx Payne, it's me and you BABY, and in your case you're darn sure bet I mean baby, as he's out here crying each and every damn week. Travis, you better LEARN to be a MAN before stepping in the ring and challenging for this title, 'cause that yellow streak your sporting lately just ain't gonna cut it! "
Lance Russell: " ONE last thing before you head up to the ring, you're one of the many competitors competing in that battle royal for a title shot at Eddie Gilbert... "
Bill Dundee: " A whole lot of big names in there, but again I'll have heart on my side. Yah see I've got some unfinished business with Eddie Gilbert, so we ain't square just yet, not for a long shot. AND AUSTIN IDOL, don't think I've lost site of you either! I always knew you were a cheat, a liar, & a scab... I've been telling Lawler all along that you were revertin' to your old ways, it just makes me SICK to my stomach that I was right. As long as you two goofs control the USWA Heavyweight Championship, you've got the attention of the Superstar!"

A little circling at the start. Dundee takes control with a side headlock but is quickly shoved off the ropes by the much larger Payne. The Superstar is able to fire back off the ropes with a shoulder block, but Payne ain't budging. Billy scores with some of his trademark rights before coming back off the ropes with a cross body but he's caught and planted to the mat with a slam! Cover gets Payne 2 as Van Horne shouts words of encouragement towards his charge. Few clubbing blows to the back floor the defending champ, as Payne grabs at the arm and starts to wrench perhaps preparing for the dreaded Payne Killer submission. Dundee, with a handful of hair, but hey it's Memphis is able to punch his way out of the hold. Irish whip and a clothesline connects but it simply sends Payne staggering, the dropkick that follows however FINALLY takes the big man down!
Payne bails to the outside at Van Horne's command, but Dundee's out there right after 'em. This leads to Payne entering the ring and distracting the official, allowing Demolisher to strike with a clubbing blow to the back as Dundee prepares to re-enter the ring. Demolisher with a huge body slam onto the studio floor before rolling Bill back into the ring. Legdrop across the throat from Payne and a cover...

Thank goodness for the Bruise Brothers fans, 'cause who knows what could have happened if Dundee was in their with those monster's a moment longer! The Bruise Brothers raise Dundee's hand high in the air, hand shakes all around, and here come the Bruise Brothers to the podium for an interview.
Lance Russell: " Don, Ron thank goodness you guys got out here in time to save the Superstar from any further damage.... "
Ron turns to the camera
Ron Harris: " Van Horne, LISTEN UP! WE'RE SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING ALL ABOUT DOOMSDAY THIS AND DOOMSDAY THAT... IT AIN'T THE END OF DAYS YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT, IT'S ME AND MY BROTHER HERE 'CAUSE WE'VE BEEN CHASING YOU ALL AROUND THE AREA, AND ONE OF THESE DAYS THOSE BELTS ARE COMING OUR WAY! "
Lance Russell: " Should be real interesting this Monday Night in the battle royal, as not only will you guys be in there but the Disciples are scheduled to be there as well... "
Don Harris: " IT'S LIKE MY BROTHER SAYS, FORGET ABOUT THE END OF DAYS, FORGET ABOUT THIS DOOMSDAY CRAP... THE DISCIPLES GOT WHAT WE WANT, AND THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE TO ANSWER TO US! WOULD we like to BE USWA Champion? WHO WOULDN'T, BUT OUR TOP PRIORITY MONDAY NIGHT IS KICKING IN MAXX PAYNE & THE DEMOLISHERS TEETH! AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK! "
Lance Russell: " You heard it here first fans, the Bruise Brothers got the Disciples on their mind when they enter that battle royal this Monday! Fans when we return we're taking you back to this past Monday's Main Event at the Mid South Coliseum, as well as hearing from "the King" himself Jerry Lawler! "

We're back and as promised it's with highlights from this past Monday's huge Mid-South Coliseum Main Event as Jerry "the King" Lawler found himself in the unlikely position of challenger against the newly crowned USWA Heavyweight Champion: "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert.

Clips of Lawler having Gilbert right where he wanted him, leading to Eddie pulling the official in harms way. It was then with the referee out of commission that the King would avoid a Gilbert attempt at an illegal piedriver to the ovation of a wild crowd! A few wild punches and down came the straps as Lawler looked to make Eddie pay for his sins with a piledriver of his own only for AUSTIN IDOL to shock the world and come to Gilbert's aid! He'd bust out a piledriver of his own, but that's not all as Gilbert & Idol would officially unit much to everyone's surprise, and take it one step further WITH A DOUBLE HOT SHOT! Idol would awaken the official, and Eddie Gilbert would pick up the tainted victory as the ring began to fill up with trash!

After the footage airs, we've got Lance at the podium as he reminds the fans that Jerry Lawler is bringing back up in the form of the NWA World Champion: Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat this Monday Night as part of that huge Memorial Day show at the Coliseum. And with that Lance welcomes the King to the set!
Jerry Lawler: " This past Monday night there was no one as surprised as you're truly to see Austin Idol, a man who despite our issues in the past, was still a man that I looked up to, that I respected even align himself with a low life, hot head like Eddie Gilbert. To see them out here today, like two peas in a pod, each with their head shoved so far up each others rear ends it's getting hard to tell where one ends and the other begins, makes me sick to my stomach Lance. "
Lance Russell: " I've gotta agree it's a bit much... no one could have predicted it... "
Jerry Lawler: " But it's happening right here before our very eyes. As much as I hate to say it, together Idol & Gilbert spells trouble for me, and just about everyone else in the USWA locker room from Brian Armstrong all the way up the chain to Jeff Jarrett & Bill Dundee. "
Lance Russell: " But you're brining some back up this Monday Night, in the one and only, Ricky 'the Dragon' Steamboat. "
Jerry Lawler: " If there's anyone in this industry that I'd trust to have my back, NO MATTER what happens out there, it's Ricky Steamboat. There's no bigger a stand up guy out there, than the Dragon. A family man, who knows when to bring the fire when need be, and TRUST ME he's brining the fire this Monday Night Lance. "
Lance Russell: " There's no denying the man's resume speaks for itself King, he's the heavyweight champion of the world after all. "
Jerry Lawler: " And I suppose that's why Idol & Gilbert were filled with joy to hear he's my partner? Eh? What's that crud they were spewing, phase 2? Seems like they've got a plan, but you know what, that doesn't bother me one bit Lance. Whatever they've got cooked up, big or small, the King & the Dragon are coming prepared. We're coming to fight like we've never fought before. Way I see it Lance, this little pairing isn't long for this world, as long as I'm around, I'll stop as nothing to make sure those two goofs 'cause as little damage as possible. I'm not rolling over, I'm not backing down, and you can damn sure bet that the Dragon's not either. SO BOYS be PREPARED for the FIGHT of YOUR LIVES this Monday at the Mid South Coliseum!"
The King walks off, as Lance reminds people to show up early for the Memorial Day cook out just hours before the show at the Coliseum. As the King disappears into the curtain... HE FLIES BACKWARDS AND INTO THE STUDIO! AUSTIN IDOL & EDDIE GILBERT APPEAR FROM THE CURTAIN PREPARED TO PUT A WORLD OF HURTING ON THE KING! THEY'VE GOT THE JUMP ON THE KING HERE TODAY ON TV! LANCE IS PLEADING FOR HELP AS THEY DOUBLE UP ON LAWLER 2 TO 1! IDOL & GILBERT BUST OUT THE DOUBLE HOT SHOT FROM EARLIER, BUT THIS TIME DROP THE KING THROAT FIRST ACROSS THE APRON! HERE COMES THE HELP! HERE COMES THE HELP! BILL DUNDEE, BRICKHOUSE BROWN & KOKO B. WARE ARE OUT TO PUT A STOP TO THE 2 TO 1 BEATDOWN! We make mention of Bobby Knight holding his own recently on the house show circuit. Not that it matters, as he's clearly jobbing here tonight. Bam Bam's promo may have been hard to read as far as where he allegiance lies, but he slapped hands with some of the fans on the way out here so I'd assume he's a baby face. Forward falling power slam sets up a running splash for the pin at just 2:20.

Before our main event, our heel team "Suicide Blonde" Chris Candido, Wolfie D & Shuan Summers, as well as "Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble join Lance at the podium.
Lance Russell: " I have to mention right off the bat, Chris Candido recently on the house shows you've opted to walk out on partner after partner, I have it on good authority from Eddie Marlin himself, that if you pull a stunt like that here today on TV you'll be fined pretty heavily and face a possible suspension. "
Chris Candido: " I don't want to talk about it! IDon'tWantToTalkAboutEddieMarlinSettingUpADifferentSetOfRulesJustForMe. I don't want to talk about Eddie Marlin being JEALOUS of me. JEALOUSthatI'mBetterThanHisGrandSonHisGodSon&HisMotherInLaw all at the same time... I don't want TO TALK ABOUT IT! "
"Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble: (after placing a towel around Candido's shoulder and rubbing his back) " Don't you worry BRUTHA... see what you did Lance? You got Chris Candido all worked up, BRUTHAH! COME ON CHRIS let's go STRETCH THIS TENSION OUT!"
Candido & Rumble head to the ring for some stretches. Lance rolls his eyes and turns his attention to Wolfie D.
Wolfie D: " That foo' needs to switch to decaf.... "
Lance Russell: " For once you and I agree... Wolfie D, the Jr. Heavyweight Title Tournament this Monday Night, a tremendous opportunity for someone just in their rookie year, but right here today on the other side of that ring will stand BRICKHOUSE BROWN... "
Wolfie D: " So? Man Brickhouse Brown ain't nuttin' but a pain... the dudes obsessed with breaking me in or something... got some sorta morale high ground bout me not doing the right the thing.. well what's RIGHT AIN'T WHAT'S UP LANCE... dude's gonna be real sorry for EVER doubting my STREET CRED, homes! "
Wolfie heads towards the ring..
Lance Russell: " Shaun, you care to share your thoughts here. Now I know you don't have the greatest win loss record around here, but at the end of the day anything can happen here in the USWA... "
Shaun Summers: " I'm the dark horse, but that's not going to stop me Lance! "
Summers heads towards the ring, and here come the baby faces to a tremendous reaction, they stop by to talk to Lance just as their opponents did before.
Brian Christopher: " Lance Russell, MAN O MAN AM I EXCITED to be HERE TODAY! HEHE! Eddie Marlin's cracked the whip, and CHRIS CANDIDO has to stay put! I've been looking forward for this for weeks! "
"Nightmare" Danny Davis: " That's right.. Brian and myself have talked long and hard about it, what happens Monday, happens Monday BUT TODAY it's about TEACHING CHRIS CANDIDO what SOUTHERN RASSLIN' IS ALL ABOUT!"
Lance Russell: " Brickhouse?"
Brickhouse Brown: " WOLFIE D, this thing ain't done for a long shot, but you know what I'm just glad to have the chance to BOTH make you pay for what you've been doing 'round here, and WIN MYSELF a title here in the USWA all in the same time! "

1st Fall- [/size]Slow start with all three faces getting the better of Candido, prompting him to roll to the outside and get toweled down by Rumble. A "Chrissy" chant breaks out, so the faces have some fun with that for a bit as Triple B covers his charges ears. Finish of your first fall is sudden and out of nowhere as Wolfie D is able to catch Brickhouse Brown off guard with a roll up ensuring to hook the tights of course, for the tainted victory at 6:10.

We're back as the bell sounds to kick off the second fall.
2nd Fall- Christopher plays baby face in peril for a bit as we build to the hot tag to "Nightmare" Danny Davis. Davis is a house of fire and he makes all three heels pay for it! Finish comes moments later as Davis catches Shaun Summers with a boot to the gut and quickly follows it up with a hangman's neckbreaker, Christopher & Brickhouse hold back the heels as Davis covers to take the first fall at 5:45.

Before our third fall, Jerry "the King" Lawler is out at ringside and gets a microphone from Lance Russell. The King is holding an ice pack on his neck.
Jerry Lawler: " I just want to take a few moments here... EDDIE GILBERT.. AUSTIN IDOL.. COME ON OUT HERE! WE DON'T HAVE TO WAIT TILL MONDAY! Two on One? You wanna jump me TWO on ONE? Let's PLAY THOSE ODDS AGAIN RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW! Or should I give you my back? "
Lawler turns his back to the entrance way..
Jerry Lawler: " Come on Gilbert... come on Idol... "
And here comes Corey Maclin.
Corey Maclin: " I'm sorry to interrupt you here King, but Eddie Gilbert & Austin Idol have left the building... they're not here... "
Jerry Lawler: " (smirking) Well isn't that something... Well I guess I'm just going to have to wait till Monday, but rest assured, I'll be spending the next 6 days coming up with all sorts a different ways to make those two goofs pay... "
Lance & Dave take us from a fired up King to a COMMERCIAL BREAK, when we return our main event continues, right here on Championship Wrestling!

We're back and it's time for the third fall.
3rd Fall- Back and forth for a bit, but as the baby faces gain a full advantage Lance Russell announces we're out of time! The battle continues for a bit despite this, but in the end the heels decide to walk off.
3rd Fall- " Expiration of time at 4:40. Match ends tied at 1 Fall A Piece. "
With that Dave & Lance close out the show in typical fashion by giving a run down of the matches. Our opener saw Austin Idol & Eddie Gilbert defeat the team of Brian Armstrong & Marcus Bagwell at just 3:02 with Brian taking the fall for his team. Singles action saw the debut of Bodyguard Rod as he made quick work of David Young with the California Crusher at 1:01. The Fantastics made their to Memphis TV easily defeating the Bad Crew in just 2:35 with that Rocket Launcher of theirs. Bill Dundee retained the Television Title as a result of a disqualifcation over Maxx Payne of the Disciples at 4:40. We saw the return of Bam Bam Bigelow to the Memphis area, as he ran thru Bobby Knight in just 2:20 with a big splash. And our main event, expiration of time went to a stale mate with Brian Christopher, Brickhouse Brown & Danny Davis splitting falls with Chris Candido, Wolfie D & Shaun Summers, total time on that one was 16:35.
