USWA Top Programs & Feuds USWA Heavyweight Championship: Jerry "the King" Lawler
The King's been on top for quite some time now, feuding mainly with the one and only "HotStuff" Eddie Gilbert . It's become a war on two fronts, as Austin Idol was recently named the number one contender after winning a 10 man battle royal on a recent television. Idol, a baby face at least for now, has been extremely outspoken in regards to the King. Feeling that Lawler has ducked him up until this point. The two men meet Monday May the 14th at the Mid South Coliseum, where on the undercard Eddie Gilbert will go one on one with Bill Dundee in a No. 1 Contenders bout. USWA Tag Team Champions: Daryl Van Horne's Disciples of A New Dawn: Maxx Payne & The Demolisher Daryl Van Horne arrived in the USWA a little over two months ago, claiming to be the "Harbinger Of Doomsday", and brought with him both Maxx Payne & The Demolisher. They made some waves in the singles division, but each were unable to defeat Jerry Lawler for the USWA Heavyweight Championship. With the devilish manager claiming to work on the behalf of a far more devastating force since his debut, he was still able to regroup his "Disciples" as they set their sites on the USWA Tag Team Championship some two weeks ago at a Monday Night Coliseum Show. Their opposition was the then tag team champions: Brian Christopher & Danny Davis . The Disciples would go onto win the belts with some help from Van Horne, pinning Danny Davis in particular. Last week at the Coliseum Davis & Christopher challenged for a final time, with the losing team being forced to split, and yet again The Disciples came out on top. Davis will be challenging yet again this up coming Monday at the Coliseum, but with a new partner in youngster Marcus Alexander Bagwell TV 5 Television Champion: Jeff Jarrett The second generation star has only been champion for the last week, having defeated former friend turned foe Billy Joe Travis at TV. He's already defended the belt this past Saturday against the young and arrogant Chris Candido, but was immediately attacked and laid out with a guitar shot from Travis the second the match was over! Jeff will be facing off against Travis this Monday, but with the bout not being on TV the title will not be on the line. Everything else will play out as it happens. The Jr. Heavyweight title tournament should be kicking off in the coming weeks, plus two new (returning, depending upon how you look at it) will be making their debuts. Stars that are also active in the area: Bill Dundee, the Armstrongs, The Bruise Brothers, Bad Crew, Koko B. Ware, Wolfie D, Brickhouse Brown & Manager "Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble . Anyone else you see on the roster is either enhancement, OR have yet to debut.

Solid backstory from what I've seen you do in your short run in Memphis before it's in good hands here.

I like it! Nice backstory to kick things off and to get us all "up to speed" on the territory.

Yes. Heck yes. Andrew's back booking stateside? Lord knows I'm on board for that. And in Mempho no less? Wow. So much yes. For me, that's like when Marvel gave Bendis free reign over the characters in the Ultimate line. We're getting to see Drew unleashed on handling the best true Memphis talent here. It's what fantasy booking should be all about in the first place. Good start, man. I like that you've just going to let most things play out as we watch, but you've still managed to give us enough substance here to give a good idea & visual of what's been happening. Nice, solid foundation of groundwork you've laid out here. Eager to watch you build the bricks up now, one layer at a time. Must admit, I'm seriously stoked to see some of these names on your roster. Best part? They all feel authentic & genuine to the area. Even so, I can't lie. Not seeing Al Snow's name among them makes me a sad panda. But hey. We'll see what unfolds.

Awesome backstory as I already feel invested in your top programs. Lawler vs Idol should boil over into a nice rivalry but Lawler vs Gilbert has me sold...with you booking.
I dig the Disciples a lot. Maxx Payne was a favorite of mine from 92 to 94 and I hope to see some great brawls with him involved. I would love to see the Disciples break Bagwell in, lol.
You have such a solid crew of younger guys that you are most certainly set for the future. I'd like to see Candido get another crack at the TV title but man is Travis ever upping the stakes. The best part is that you aren't having the TV title defended on house shows. Thank you!
Is it silly that I'm excited to see the Bruise Brothers here? They fit so perfect here and the Armstrongs would be a great first test for them.
You and Grape have set the bar for this league.

Good to see Van Horne being involved. I always liked his personnas. Idol and Gilbert make a very impressive force to go against Lawler. Payne and The Demolisher look very capable of a long tag run. The angle of Davis getting different partners really works. Like your use of Travis to go against Jarrett. Hope to see some good angles for Candido and The Armstrongs.
This WSWA looks ready to roll.
