"Disrespect & Dominance"
Championship Wrestling
Saturday Morning July 28th, 1992
TV5 Studios Memphis Tenesee
[/center]
Before we go to Lance & Dave in the studio we're shown highlights of The Fantastics Vs. Steiner Brothers from this past Monday Night, focusing on Rogers' falling to the half crab due to injuries. We're then shown highlights of the Fantastics Vs. Taylor/Valentine from Evansville two days later, focusing on Taylor & Valentine taking out the knee and securing the USWA Tag Team Championships. We're then taking to..
[VTR]
And it's the entire Dangerous Alliance behind the green screen with a graphic from the WCW days that reads "The Danger Zone"
Paul E. Dangerously: " I want you to take a look at the four men before you. Four of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time stand UNITED here today as THE most DOMINANT faction in not just the USWA, but in ALL of the NWA. First, to the left the men who've started the fire. Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine & 'Terrific' Terry Taylor, then team that this past Wednesday Night proved without a shadow of a doubt to be the greatest tag team in the USWA when they brought the USWA Tag Team Championships to the Dangerous Alliance. Like the sharks that they are, the smelled blood and capitalized setting off a chain of events that WILL bring us all the way to this Monday Night. "
Taylor & Valentine laugh it up a bit, posing with the gold.
Paul E. Dangerously: " And at their side, 'the Superstar' Bill Dundee, the man WHO ALONGSIDE Jerry Lawler laid the ground work and helped firmly establish the Memphis territory as THE PREMIER territory in ALL of the NWA. It's safe to say that I WOULDN'T be here if it wasn't for Bill Dundee. TODAY this man rides the wave of momentum set forth by Taylor & Valentine and RECLAIMS what is rightfully his, the TV5 Championship! "
Dundee shouts he's coming for Bagwell.
Paul E. Dangerously: " And lastly, a man who needs no hype, a man who's told his story time and time again INSIDE that ring. The women's pet, the man's regret, the man who THIS MONDAY NIGHT will bring the USWA Heavyweight Championship BACK to the Alliance, the UNIVERSAL HEARTTHROB HIMSELF Austin Idol! Terry Funk, no longer can rely on 'Hot Stuff' Eddie Gilbert to save your precious title, we've made sure of just that when we showed the world this past Monday Night just how the Dangerous Alliance DEALS with disgruntled employees! "
Austin Idol: " The time for jive has come and gone, daddy! It's AUSTIN IDOL's time! "
Paul E. Dangerously: " The Dangerous Alliance lives up to the promise I made right here on this very program months ago... the era of ROYALTY officially comes to an end, by THIS TIME next week I ASSURE you I'll be SURROUNDED by CHAMPIONS, history will be made as the DANGEROUS ALLIANCE ERA kicks off RIGHT HERE ON CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING! "
[END VTR]
Lance & Dave open the show and further sell us on Taylor & Valentine's win, we'll be hearing from 1/2 of the former champions Bobby Fulton a little later on in the program. We'll also have a HUGE announcement from Eddie Marlin a little later on! Right now we've got a run down of what we'll see here on this program:

THE ADONIS IS COMING!
[END VTR]
And it's to the ring we go!
Too Cold Scorpio defeated The Crimson Dragon in 3:28 with a top rope moonsault.
Notes: It's the same match from the house shows, but in fast forward. Crowd and our announcers are impressed by the very different high flying style Scorpio brings to the table. Brian Christopher's name gets mentioned a few times on commentary of course flat out saying that Scorpio has his eyes on Brian's USWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship!
We're going back to back as Daryl Van Horne leads out the monster known as Doomsday, his opposition? David Young & Johnny Rotten. Both men look scared as heck to be out there.
Doomsday w/ Daryl Van Horne makes quick work of Johnny Rotten & David Young. Pinning Young with the power bomb at just 1:11.
Notes: Destruction, out and out destruction. After the match the bigger Rotten takes the ride for a power bomb as well. Our announcers ask the question, who can stop Doomsday?
Clip of the big man hitting the power bomb on Rotten, with the caption "Bobby Fulton, when we return!"
Commercial Break
We're back and Lance is joined at the podium by 1/2 of the Fantastics: Bobby Fulton.
Lance Russell: " We've seen the footage, and now I've gotta ask the question. You're out here all alone, so it must not be all that good, how's Tommy Rogers doing? "
Bobby Fulton: " Well they tore his knee up real bad, looks like it's going to be a while before he can get back in the ring, but Lance when he does I'll tell you this we're getting right back on that horse and getting right back in the mix of things with Taylor & Valentine! This isn't over, not by a long sho..."
He's interrupted by....
DARYL VAN HORNE?
Lance Russell: " We don't want any trouble here Daryl..."
Daryl Van Horne: " (Smiling) Oh you'll get no trouble out of me, Mr. Russell. I am here as a harbinger for the MONSTER... the man who'll bring forth the end of days..."
Lance Russell: " What's this have to do with Bobby Fulton here? "
Daryl Van Horne: " Well Robert, as the monster's personal harbinger, I am here to offer you a chance... an opportunity... to LEAVE in one piece..."
Bobby Fulton: " I don't know what the heck your talking about, but if this is someway of challenging ME to a match, well DOOMSDAY can bring it on! We Fantastics don't run from anyone..."
Daryl Van Horne: " Fine line between bravery and stupidity.. I assure you it'll prove to be the ladder.... Monday Night then? "
Bobby Fulton: " Monday Night..."
Daryl Van Horne: " 48 Hours... TICK... TICK... TICK...BOOM! DOOMSDAY... HAHAHAHAHA! "
Van Horne exits..
Bobby Fulton: Now that's one weird dude..."
With that we're headed to the ring.
Tracy Smothers & "Simply Irresistible" Jeff Jarrett defeated The Blackhearts (Apocalypse & Destruction) when Jarrett pinned Destruction with a dropkick off the second rope at 7:19.
Tracy & Jeff join Lance after the match. We're shown footage of Wolfie D hanging Tracy this past Monday Night.
Lance Russell: " Tracy as if you weren't already disappointed in Wolfie D's character..."
Tracy Smothers: " Oh we're a long ways past disappointed, that's for sure, Russell. I ain't disappointed, I'm just flat out mad!"
Lance Russell: " Well you've got a shot at revenge this up coming Monday Night when you go one on one with Wolfie D at the Coliseum. "
Tracy Smothers: " Ain't gonna be one on one, no matter if they bill it that way... that's why Jeff here's backing me up. Kelly, boy you listen and you listen REAL, REAL GOOD. It ain't about what I done taught you, but it's about what I've kept all to myself! Boy, you're in for the fight of your life! "
Jeff Jarrett: " And Gangstas, and I'm talking to New Jack mainly when I say this, if ya'll get involved I've got no problem getting my hands just as dirty as yours!"
Lance wraps it up before throwing it to Corey with a run down of Monday's card as it stands:
Our opening match will be a Jr. heavyweight showcase as Too Cold Scorpio battles Japan's Osamu Nishimura.
USWA Tag Team Titles are on the line as "Terrific" Terry Taylor & Greg "The Hammer" Valentine defend against Koko B. Ware & The Spellbinder.
Doomsday goes one on one with "Fantastic" Bobby Fulton.
Marcus Bagwell goes up against Blackheart Destruction.
Grudge Match action as Tracy Smothers w/ Jeff Jarrett in his corner goes one on one with Wolfie D w/ the Gangstas seconding him.
And in our Main Event the USWA Heavyweight title is on the line as Terry Funk defends against No.1 Contender "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol!
Clip of Jarrett hitting the dropkick and a caption reads "UP NEXT WOLFIE D + EDDIE MARLIN's BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
Commercial Break
We're back and it's to the ring for Wolfie D in action!
Wolfie D w/ the Gangstas defeated TD Steele via pinfall with an inverted DDT at 2:29.
Notes: No thugs this week, by decree of Eddie Marlin so says the announcers. Mustafa & New Jack are more than enough as it is. Quick and easy win for Wolfie before heading to Lance for a quick word.
New Jack: " Don't go getting your panties in no bunch old man, I ain't here to spit fire, I ain't here to cut loose on those racist crackers Tracy Smothers & daddy's boy... I'm just here to pass it to the right..."
Jack steps aside allowing Wolfie to step into the picture.
Wolfie D: " Tracy Smothers, you done got it all wrong. You come on out here and talk about how disappointed you are, how mad you are that I done drove the knife in your back. You come on out here SURPRISED that I done chose the Gangstas over whatever it is we had, whatever it is YOU THINK we had. You wanna shoot, let's shoot. When these cameras stop rolling, I still talk this way... when these cameras stop rolling I STILL act this way... I've been hanging out with straight up THUGS like New Jack & Mustafa since the moment I done left the house. I've been lying, cheating & stealing to get WHAT I WANT since the age of 8 years old. Kelly? I ain't answered to that name since I was 13.... 'Yah think you know me? Y'ah ain't NUTTIN' BUT A MARK... I worked you to get into this bidness... KELLY was the lie... Wolfie D, this is WHO I AM TRACY, and this is WHO'S GONNA TAKE YO ASS OUT!"
Lance Russell: " Oh come on..."
Wolfie D: " SHOVE IT LANCE! "
Wolfie walks off with Jack behind him, a cackling Mustafa creeps Lance out a bit before busting out Wolfie's line..
Mustafa: " Now that's... *laughing* what's up! "
Lance quickly takes us to some video tape from this past Monday Night at the Coliseum. It's of Austin Idol battling "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert. The focus is of course on the post match with Gilbert getting taking out by the entire DA. The story told by Lance is simple, have we seen the last of Eddie Gilbert? A man with no allies, on an island all to himself. He then takes us to Dave Brown of at the interview set with match maker Eddie Marlin!
Dave Brown: " Ladies and gentlemen as promised here with a very special announcement, USWA match maker Eddie Marlin! So what is it, come on now let's let that cat out of the bag "
Eddie Marlin: " 'pose I should just get down to business. A lot of big things happening 'round here these days, but it's just about to get bigger. I'm proud to announce that on September 9th at the Mid South Coliseum, that's right a Sunday, the USWA is putting together it's biggest card to date. We're calling it BattleCade, and it won't just be another night at the Coliseum. No sir, we're bringing in Lance & yourself, setting ya'll up and ringside and well get this, we're gonna show it LIVE on closed circuit throughout the territory! Got ourselves some 20 or 30 locations lined up all throughout the Mid South! Don't get any bigger than that. "
Dave Brown: " Wow that is big news! Just what can we expect to see at this Battle Cade? "
Eddie Marlin: " Well I'm in no position to get into details just yet, but we're gonna have not one, but TWO big main events. ONE of which, well I can't get into it here and now, still in talks and all, but let's just say it'll be a rematch that some FIVE years in the making Dave. So to everyone out there, just stay tuned 'cause as time goes on by we're gonna have more information on this huge event! "
Dave Brown: " There you have it fans, stay tuned for MORE information on BATTLE CADE '92! I'm sure it's going to be quite the evening! "
Clip of Terry Funk hitting the DDT from Monday Night at the Coliseum is shown with the caption "The Champion: NEXT!"
Commercial Break
Non-title: USWA Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk defeated The Gambler w/ Robert Fuller in 5:51 via pinfall off a DDT.
Notes: Fuller gets involved a bit giving the Gambler a little offense, but the end result is never in question. Funk finishes with his trademark DDT. He has some fun at Fuller expense chasing him to the back with his branding iron before heading over to Lance for a quick word.
Lance Russell: " An impressive victory here today from the champ, Terry Funk Monday Night you've got one more go around with the Idol..."
Terry Funk: " 'pose I should ready that last cigarette, eh Lancey? The way that RAT Paul E & the SCUM Idol been talking, well they'd have you believing the ONLY reason why I'm still holding this here belt is 'cause of that crazed fool Eddie Gilbert. "
Lance Russell: " That is what they were saying, but I for one think they're underestimating you.."
Terry Funk: " Ain't that the truth. 'pose it's all the smiling and hugging I been doing 'round here. Push come to shove I ain't change one bit once that there bell rings. Austin Idol can talk as big as he wants, but beating me ain't gonna be easy. There ain't nuttin' I won't do to keep this here title, and when you look at what I've done in the past well... let's just say that ain't a statement to take lightly Lance, now is it? "
Lance Russell: " Well I'm inclined to agree..."
Terry Funk: " All 'yer eggs in one basket, laying it all done on one horse, and it's a magnificent horse Lancey, but so was the last one, and THIS HORSES ASS (points to himself) beat that horse REAL, REAL GOOD... why when it was all said and done the Dangerous Alliance readied the shot gun and took that horse back behind the stable and put it down. How's that for loyalty Idol? How's that for honor amongst thieves... how does it feel knowing that if you CAN'T get it done, they'll do you in? You think your exempt from all that? Maybe you are, maybe you isn't... ain't something you go on and chance... Monday Night, why Lancey, it's gonna be REAL, REAL interesting. "
Clip of Funk cashing off Robert Fuller, caption reads "TV5 Championship WHEN WE RETURN!"

TV5 Championship: "Superstar" Bill Dundee w/ Paul E. Dangerously defeated Marcus Alexander Bagwell in 2:25 via pinfall off the "Bomb's Away".
Notes: The kid puts forth an effort in the early going, but the damage is done and in short order Dundee seizes the victory to capture his second TV5 Championship. Dundee proudly struts around the ring as we head to...
Commercial Break
We're back and it's to Lawler standing by with Lance.
Jerry Lawler: " Bill Dundee, GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE RIGHT NOW! No Paul E., no Dangerous Alliance JUST BILL DUNDEE! "
Bill Dundee storms back out with Paul E. trying to hold him back, Dundee actually SENDS Paul E. to the back!
Bill Dundee: " You know Kingfish..."
Jerry Lawler: " SHUT YOUR MOUTH DUNDEE and JUST LISTEN! You got a problem with me that's one thing, you've got a problem with how the USWA that's another thing all together. Whatever it is that's going on with you, it DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE RIGHT to BEHAVE LIKE A LOW LIFE SCUM AND ATTACK MARCUS FROM BEHIND... You're PROUD of what just happened? What kind of MAN are you?"
Bill Dundee: " Well ain't this something? Jerry Lawler playing John Wayne... Jerry Lawler acting like he's EARNED HIS SPOT... You got where you are today by stepping on the heads of EVERYONE who came before you mate, DON'T GO TRY and sugar coating it. You ain't no saint Lawler..."
Jerry Lawler: " That's all in the past, and you know it..."
Bill Dundee: " Forgive and forget, eh? Kingfish, yah know something I used to have a ton of respect for you mate. Now I ain't got nothing but content... you know what I do when I see people I ain't got respect for in the street? "
Jerry Lawler: " What's that..."
DUNDEE SPITS ON LAWLER! Lawler stands shocked as Dundee calmly exits to the back! Lawler whips his face clean.
Jerry Lawler: " DUNDEE! DUNDEE! COME ON BACK OUT HERE! You're NOT GETTING AWAY WITH SPITTING IN MY FACE! "
Lawler removes his jacket, preparing for a fight. Here comes match maker Eddie Marlin!
Jerry Lawler: " Make the match right now Eddie, make it right now, right here today on TV..."
Eddie Marlin: " I'd love to King, but he's left. Walked right on out of the building and started up his car, he's gone..."
Jerry Lawler: " He can't get away with spitting in my face, he can't get away with what he did to Marcus either..."
Eddie Marlin: " Well he ain't gonna get away with it King... You want a piece of Dundee, you GOT IT this Monday Night at the Coliseum! "
Lance Russell: " A classic rivalry renewed this Monday Night, how bout that! "
Jerry Lawler: " I always knew this day would come but at what cost? Dundee, you wanted to rile me up, you wanted to face an angry King, you've GOT IT! And rest assured if you think making me mads going to help your 'cause, then Superstar don't be surprised if you come up SHORT! "
Our Main Event when we return!
Commercial Break
Lance Russell: " In just a few short moments we're about to have our television main event, a special '10 Minute Stud Stable Invitation', now I have no idea what that's all about, here to hopefully clear the air about it... Brian Christopher & the 'Tennessee Stud' Robert Fuller. "
A proud Christopher is out with Robert Fuller right behind him.
Brian Christopher: " Listen Lance, if you're going to introduce me make sure you do it right, Brian Christopher THE USWA Jr. heavyweight Champion! "
Robert Fuller: " Easy there Brian, the man's getting up their in age and all, don't be so hard on him. "
Lance Russell: " Hey I'm just trying to figure out what this invitation is all about..."
Brian Christopher: " It's GREAT (laughing) TELL HIM HOW GREAT IT IS STUD! "
Robert Fuller: " Why it's a bionafied genius idea that young Brian and myself here have cooked up. 'Yah see (pats himself with his hanky) Brian's done beaten every Jr. Heavyweight this here promotion has to offer..."
Lance Russell: " What about Too Cold Scorpio? "
Both men stare a whole thru Lance.
Robert Fuller: " As I was saying before I was rudely interupted... Brian's done beaten EVERY Jr. heavyweight this here promotion has to offer, so what I've done here is I've gone OUTSIDE of the USWA and found an opponent here today... kid by the name of Al Snow all the way from Lima, Ohio. "
Lance Russell: " Can't say I've ever heard of him..."
Robert Fuller: " Well Metlzer seems to like him... "
Awkward moment teamed up with a bit of silence.
Robert Fuller: " Now what's gonna happen here in just a few minutes is this... Brian here's gonna rassle this guy without the title on the line, we're giving this one a 10 minute time limit... and if this Al Snow can go on and last 10 minutes with Brian Christopher.."
Lance Russell: " What if he beats Brian..."
Brian Christopher: " Ain't gonna happen..."
Robert Fuller: " Better chance catching pigs flying, I tell yah what... but if HE DOES beat Brian, why I'll give him my card... now as I was saying if this Al Snow character goes on and last the full 10 minutes, then this Monday Night at the Coliseum Brian here's gonna give him a shot at the USWA Jr. heavyweight championship. Now I've had my fill of all this talking, it's bout time we show these people what Brian Christopher is all about! "
Main Event: Stud Stable Invitational- Al Snow battled to a 10 Minute Time Limit Draw with USWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Brian Christopher w/ Robert Fuller.
Notes: Man Snow impressed here today on TV. Christopher started out over playing baby face with handshakes and all that jazz perhaps taking the new comer lightly. But gloves were off about 3 minutes in when Snow handed his behind on a few exciting exchanges. The finish see's Christopher go for his trademark superkick, only for Snow to spin him around and connect with an atomic drop sending him up and over the top rope! With seconds to spare, Fuller advises Christopher to simply walk on the match. As a result new comer Al Snow has a title shot this Monday Night at the Coliseum!
Clip of Snow hitting an inverted atomic drop, with the caption "Championship Wrestling Continues" takes us to break.
Commercial Break
