Tuesday Night At The Gardens
Tuesday Night 6/5/92
Louisville Gardens
Louisville, Kentucky
The show kicks off with Corey Maclin announcing that Terry Funk captured the USWA Heavyweight Championship last night at the Mid South Coliseum! The Funker is in town and will make his first title defense in the main event against former champion: "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert!
Your opening match saw Koko B. Ware go one on one with New Jack w/ Wolfie D in a return match from this past Monday Night. Very similar to Monday Night's match as it resembled a fight more than a wrestling match, the real story is that mid way thru the bout... Daryl Van Horne lead out his mysterious MONSTER.. New Jack & Wolfie got the heck out of there, but Koko stood his ground, and yeah ate a power bomb from the monstrous Doomsday when all was said and done. Official Results: No Contest at 6:36.
Tag Team Action followed as The Bruise Brothers (Don & Ron Harris) destroyed the Bad Crew (Dog & Rose) w/ "Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble, pinning Rose at just 3:38 with the H Bomb.
The Spellbinder made quick work of Bobby Knight in our next contest, pinning him off a spin wheel kick in just 2:29. The big man continues to impress, racking up victory after victory on the house show circuit.
USWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship was on the line as Brian Christopher defended against "Suicide Blonde" Chris Candido. Solid bout. Christopher continues to impress in his new role, even bailing on the match at one point only for Jeff Jarrett to show up and block the entrance way forcing Brian to get back in there with Chris. Finish see's Candido get tripped up in the corner, and Christopher steals it with his feet in the ropes at 19:34.
The USWA Tag Team Championships were on the line just before intermission as The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) defended against the duo of Billy Joe Travis & Rod the Bodyguard. Good old fashioned southern style tag team 'rasslin' right here. Great match, the heels played their part to perfection. In the end Travis gets pinned off a Rogers victory roll at 16:28.
Post Match- Que the crybaby chants, and the water works.
Intermission During intermission it's announced that next weeks main event will feature "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert & Austin Idol teaming up against the duo of Terry Funk & Marcus Bagwell.
Singles action brings us back with "Simply Irresistible" Jeff Jarrett going one on one with The Crimson Dragon. Quick little win for Jarrett here as he pins the Dragon with a second rope dropkick at just 4:11.
Tag Team Action follows as "Superstar" Bill Dundee & Marcus Alexander Bagwell take on the Dangerous Alliance Duo of "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol & "Terrific" Terry Taylor w/ Paul E. Dangerously. Super fun bout with the heels getting heat on Bagwell for a good chunk of the bout, building to a hot tag to Dundee. Of course Bill makes the mistake of tagging back out to Bagwell as we hit the home stretch. He still holds his own, but a cell phone shot from Taylor KO's the kid allowing Idol to pin him at 14:45.
Our first of two main events see's Jerry "the King" Lawler go one on one with "The Beast From The East" Bam Bam Bigelow w/ Tony Rumble. Crowd was surprised to see Bammer with Rumble, but hey they were going to boo him anyway since he's in there with the King. Bout is nothing more than a tease it seems as the two battle to the outside for the count out at 10:28.
Post Match- Bad Crew gets involved leading to a three on one inside the ring, with Rumble cheering his "bruthas" on. CHRIS CANDIDO hits the ring armed with a steel chair to chase the heels off. Bam Bam doesn't want to go, but Rumble convinces him other wise of course. Lawler is helped up by Candido, and seems impressed by the kid giving him an endorsement over the microphone before raising his hand high in the air.
Main Event USWA Heavyweight Title is on the line as Terry Funk defends against now former champion: "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert w/ Paul E. Dangerously. . Both men get busted open in the early going, wild freaking brawl thru and thru. Tons of short cutting from BOTH MEN. Ref bump, Gilbert has the phone, BUT FUNK HAS THE USWA Heavyweight Championship. Eddie doesn't see it and shouts he's gonna end him.. but WHAMO walks into the belt shot! Ref is back up, cover from Funk gets three! Terry Funk retains at 25:01!
Post Match- Funk does the celebration in the crowd thing again, while Eddie pitches a fit in the ring once he's recovered!

We open up with the announcement of Terry Funk as USWA Champion much like last night, but Funker isn't here tonight. Instead the main event will feature Jerry "the King" Lawler battling "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert inside a steel cage.
Our opening match see's The Spellbinder w/ Koko B. Ware in his corner go one on one with Wolfie D w/ New Jack. Crowd was into this one as it was Wolfie bumping like mad for the big man and relying on cheap tactics to stay in this one. Finish see's Jack slip Wolfie the blackjack, Koko then get into it with Jack on the floor allowing Spellbinder to recover, he ducks under a wild swing of the blackjack from Wolfie and connects with the spin wheel kick for the win at 7:17.
"Suicide Blonde" Chris Candido see's singles action next against the Crimson Dragon. Just a chance to get Candido's baby face act out there, Chris picks up the win with a diving headbutt off the top in just 5:45.
More singles action follows as Bam Bam Bigelow w/ "Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble takes on David Young. Before the bout Bam Bam's manager heels it up on the microphone to ensure Bigelow gets boo'd here. Yeah he crushes the kid, finishing with not one but two splashes at 4:11.
USWA Tag Team Championships are on the line as The Bruise Brothers (Don & Ron Harris) challenge The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) for the gold. Very similar to Monday's showdown, in fact just a tad better up until the finish as DOOMSDAY strikes entering the ring for the NO CONEST at 16:01! Fulton & Rogers bump to clotheslines, but the Harris Twins are there to double up on Doomsday! They clothesline him over the top rope, but he LANDS ON HIS FEET! He considers re-entering the ring, but decides the time isn't right, instead makes a cut throat sign in the Twins direction.
Post Match- Handshakes all around, all four men raises each others hands to a nice reaction.
Just before intermission with a guitar on a pole match as "Simply Irresistible" Jeff Jarrett looks to settle things locally with Billy Joe Travis. Pretty much the exact same finish to their previous encounter Monday Night with Jarrett KO'ing Travis with the guitar for the victory at 8:14.
Intermission Next weeks main event is announced as Terry Funk, Bill Dundee & Marcus Bagwell Vs. The Dangerous Alliance.
Back from intermission with singles action as TV5 Champion "Superstar" Bill Dundee battles "Terrific" Terry Taylor w/ Paul E. Dangerously. Back and forth here, cheating from the heels, with Dundee giving it right back when the time is right. They battle to an impressive 20 minute time limit draw!
Post Match- Bill wants 5 more minutes, Taylor doesn't so yeah.
USWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship is on the line as Brian Christopher battles Shaun Summers. Brian literally KO's him with the superkick the second the bell sounds and gets the win at 8 seconds.
Post Match- Brian gets on the microphone to rant and rave about the USWA cattering to Jeff Jarrett and not him, asking where his music video is and all that jazz.. Jarrett's out to tell him to shove it pretty much and say that he'll take him on anywhere, anytime, EVEN RIGHT NOW... Brian says that it isn't happening tonight... then tries to cheap shot Jeff with a superkick, it's caught.. atomic drop sends Brian to the floor to a nice reaction! Brian scurries to the back while Double J celebrates.
"Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol w/ Paul E. Dangerously see's singles action next against Marcus Alexander Bagwell. Back and forth for a bit, Bagwell goes on a tear for a short period of time and yeah Terry Taylor runs in for the DQ at 12:28.
Post Match- The DA doubles up on the kid, holding him for Paul E to take a shot, but it doesn't happen as "Superstar" Bill Dundee is out to clear the ring and break it up before it goes any further.
2ND Intermission for the Steel Cage set up Next week we're back for the 4th of July! Fireworks are promised as well as a cook out.
Much like earlier in the night, this next bout is all about settling a rivalry on the local front as Jerry "the King" Lawler battles "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert w/ Paul E. Dangerously inside a steel cage. It's your typical Lawler/Gilbert match, but in a cage. Thus it's pretty freaking fun. Both men are battered & bloodied. Finish see's Eddie get handed powder from Paul E. on the outside, only for the King to shove Eddie's hand into the air blinding 'em with that powder! PILEDRIVER connects giving Lawler the victory (it's a cage after all) at 35:49.
